“This is my go-to Chinese in Bristol. It's 5 minutes from my work and is a nice clean place that shows pride in ownership. The food is solid, not the best I've had, but no complaints. The woman working the counter, the owner, I assume, is a very, very nice lady. There are tables inside, but it's tight and mostly a takeaway spot.“

“The food at Sichuan Alley is good but on the sweeter side which surprised me. I got the veggie dumplings, gummy noodles and the dan dan noodles. The veggie dumplings were well cooked, but the filling lacked any semblance of texture. The gummy noodles were great in texture but a little too sweet for my taste which could boil down to personal preference. The dan dan noodles, while good in flavor, were mushy either from being overcooked or just as a side effect of their decision to use ramen noodles instead of chinese noodles.

“We loved this place! Authentic Chinese food - Stephanie. The Chengdu dumplings and cold rabbit appetizers were fantastic! my son had the crisp pork belly, and I had the sliced smoked duck. Soooooo delicious! Can't wait to bring the hubs here.“

“I've had this place bookmarked for a while, since I've been seeing great reviews about it. They're on LaSalle St. which is a busy road with a ton of restaurants and shops in West Hartford. We were able to find on-street metered parking nearby. We got there for lunch and was able to get a table outside. The service was quick and friendly.

We started off with the crispy pork nuggets ($8) which were super crispy and delectable; it came with sweet hoison sauce and chili flakes for dipping. We also ordered steamed chicken soup dumplings ($9); this came with a sweet soy dipping sauce. I thought this was just okay, there wasn't much soup in it. Next time, I want to try out their chengdu dumplings ($9). We were hungry so we asked the waiter for recommendations and he said braised beef pancake roll ($11) and boy, that was a good recommendation. It was a flaky roll with beef and sweet hoison sauce.

Now my main entree was the Dan Dan noodles ($8). They mixed it at the table for me; it had noodles, ground pork, spicy sauce, and baby bok choy. Wow, I can eat a gallon of that lol, 5 stars all the way for that. My husband had the Roujiamo Chinese burger and he said it was okay. Overall, the food was 4.5 stars and the service and ambiance was 5 stars, so I rounded it to 5 stars total. I look forward to going back and trying out some more menu items!“

“Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1“

We ordered spare ribs, I had pepper steak, extra extra, extra hot, and a few other things today July 26, 2024. Wow, when you order something that you want hot and you get it and it makes your eyes water, that’s what I call hot, just the way I wanted it, perfect. “It's the best chinese takeout spot in Southington! We usually get delivery and they're always so nice and pack everything so well. When we get takeout there's plenty of parking and they are working so quickly and efficiently.
Some of our favorites: egg rolls, chicken teryaki sticks, chicken moo shoo pancakes, roast pork lo mein and sweet and sour chicken.
Their only con is the cash only payments but they remind you so you're never in a tough spot. It's probably helping their affordability so no complaints here!“

“This is my fiancé and I’s favorite restaurant of all time! We have been coming here at least once a week for 7 years! We live 45 minutes away, and happily make drive. Only thing I didn’t like was the egg drop soup it was pretty bland. We ordered a large variety of items for a group of friends to share family-style, and all the dishes were a perfect combination of generous amounts of fresh ingredients prepared with top-notch technique. Would highly recommend the crab Rangoon (definitely the best the group has had) and the tenderloin beef. The sweet and sour chicken was juicy and the rice is delicious requesting no veggies in it which they did ( some forget) big pieces of pork in the rice.
