“Came across this little gem on a random strike for a drink and decent food after work as I am new to Cromwell. The atmosphere was phenomenal for 5:30 p.m. I really love the seating and the stained glass makes a nice touch and keeps it true to being a "tavern" as opposed to just a restaurant. This place is not family friendly and isn't intended to be. For golf fans there is a nice range connected to the property with its own bar newly added to the back of the restaurant to purely serve the patrons on the range. Sweet touch! I don't want to say too many bad things about this place because it really was a wonderful quick visit and the energy in the room was an easy adjustment. I came around dinner time on a Wednesday and at about 6:30 they started to pull down a projector screen for trivia night. I didn't stay long enough for that but might have enjoyed it if I knew the genre and something peaked my interest. So now to the negative... As the food was in fact delicious the timing was to be noted. I ordered all of my food to go had a few drinks while I was waiting... First I received my sandwich and chips 20 minutes later The party I came with received part of their to go order, and the rest of my order took another 25 minutes. I think somehow there was a mishap in the kitchen. I ordered my food with my very first drink and it took over an hour ? I ordered the goat cheese honey pizza with added prosciutto and the Florida man sandwich. The chips with the sandwich weren't to my liking but the pizza and the sandwich itself were delicious! All in all this place gets a 4.5. Allan is a nice touch too ??“
“This is a sports bar with pool tables, darts, and basketball games. Tv's are wall to wall showing a variety of sports events.We stopped in to check out the Thursday night dueling piano's, and watch the NY Rangers game. It was very entertaining and fun. They have typical bar food, which is exactly what we expected. The Cowboy Burger was delicious! I added fresh, sliced jalapenos for a nice little flavor boost. It's a nice, casual spot with a friendly waitstaff.“

“We had been to 5 different bars before going to roadrunner pub and they were definitely the BEST out of the 5 !! We should have started there !! They staff was fun ,respectful and attentive. Great bar and music LOTS OF FUN !!! ? Recommend!!!“
“Family style bar and restaurant. I've had a thick juicy cheeseburger and the fish and chips. Both dishes were nice large portions of flavorful and fresh tasting and well seasoned food. The place is friendly and well appointed. Prices are reasonable and service is great. The patrons are having fun socializing with each other. There are even families, but no young children. They are a mix of young and old. People are dressed in casual work clothes.“
“Food was very good, service was excellent, local bar with good beer selection. Went there to watch Hockey Game. They put the channel on, on 2 tvs, turned the volume up and then turned the volume down on the house music. I'll go again.“
“TJs is a sports bar with great food and immaculately clean. The burger ? tastes like steak! I have had three of them and they are the "best burger" I personally have had in Connecticut. It's small in a cozy, way and the 8 TVs are set up so you can see NFL or Basketball anywhere you sit. It's really perfect for 3 friends & you to play pool and eat, or a casual "date night" because there are booths you can snuggle up in. I usually just go to the bar side; but the restaurant side has 8 small booths so you can take mom or a friend to a tasty lunch. The menu is quite large but I personally stick to burgers.“
“Came solo looking for a place I could relax and have a beer with locals. Yea this was it! They had musician Steve McGrath playing he was amazing. I got their signature Winchester burger and it was perfect. Chilled here for a couple hours a couple beers and it just feels like home.“
“Excellent place to go to. Great views of the first hole while having a meal makes it all worthwhile. Really good food (especially the burgers and fries) and friendly staff all around. Looking forward to future visits and some of that very good sweet tea again. ?“
“The owners are good friends so we dropped by to say hello, share a few stories and enjoy a beer. They invited us to partake of the buffet that was winding down. The food was excellent. We only stayed a short while because we were distracting them from their duties. They were setting up for karaoke when we left.“
“The food is excellent. The owner really puts love into her handmade dishes. Fresh ingredients make this spot a hidden gem. Try the shrimp rolls and the fried rice. Banging!!! Especially in a late night where all the restaurants are closed she is still cooking. ❤️ They have a juke box that has a good selection of pretty much anything. You can hear anything from Mobb Deep to the Eagles at this bar. Nice space to host a catered gathering as well as a small outdoor patio to enjoy the evening. Super cute spot. “So for anyone who doesn't know the Hive Bar has a beautiful Hall. They could accommodate weddings, parties and small events. Has a fireplace and a stage. We loved it for our daughters first birthday. The owners were wonderful to work with. Everything was set up the way we were told. Brian was very professional and catered to all our needs. Would definitely recommend for your next event!!!!! ?“

“We've been here a few times for both dinner on the deck and special occasion events. The food is typically decent. I've enjoyed their pizza. They're meatball sub is delicious (and I'm Italian and am typically really picky when it comes to meatballs). The back deck is so delightful- especially on a cool evening sitting around one of the fire tables. I have 2 young kids so being able to dine outside is always nice. We dined there last week and had a less than stellar experience. It was a Thursday evening. The kids and I met some family after they played golf. It was much busier than I would have expected. Waitress comes over in a huff - clearly overwhelmed. She wasn't that friendly and was rushing, She took 8 orders - drinks and meals - without writing anything down. My cousin and I chuckled about it when she walked away. We were both saying it'd be a miracle if she got it right. Well she didn't. And the worst part is that we waited about 30 mins for our meals - and the two she messed up out of the 8 were my 4 and 9 year olds. So then we waited another 15 mins for 2 pizzas. It was just annoying. Write it down next time. Well obviously be back but definitely not if something like this happens again.“
“Now THIS is how you go from 2 stars to a 5 star review!! I have not done this type of star jump in a very long time and to be honest, Flynn's Food and Staff deserve every single star. I was not surprised to see the spot fairly empty at 11:30 today for it was not packed when I first came here a few years ago to the disaster of the food and service that I had received. I noticed there was a different waitress today and she was spot on! From the greeting we received once we walked in, to how attentive she was once we sat down and her service with the other two tables....simply outstanding. This time around the mozzarella sticks came out hot and extra cheesy. So cheesy, the pull may have actually gone from the ceiling to the floor but what really took the flavor home, was the sauce my sticks came with. That level of home whipped up marinara sauce was insane baby!! So much flavor and you could taste the tomato broken down and diced up. Seasoned with love and only making my mozzarella stick, that much more enjoyable! Going with their New England Clam Chowder was also a decent experience. Chunks of potatoes and a nice array of clams that provided quite the luxurious bite, all I needed was the salt and pepper that I added upfront and this NE Clam Chowder had some "Slap Yo Mama" flavors going on. Their French fries were not greasy nor did they taste cold and forgotten but they had the mean double crispiness and already salted, which drove their bite into a very happy place with me. Now I am back on the Cajun Blue Cheese Burger and they got it right!!! The beef was real beef this time around. Seared up and juicy!! I had PLENTY of blue cheese crumbles all over my beef (unlike the single crumble from last time) and each chew was a pleasure to behold. Now this is a REAL BURGER that bites back with strength and I am here for it!!! I pitched everything at Flynn's today and they did not strike out! Each items was a HOMERUN and their service ran all of the bases!! I can't wait to come back and again, excellent job to the new Chef and the Staff here!!! This was a Revisit to be excited about!“
“For our main course, I tried the margherita pizza, and it was amazing - the crust was perfectly crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. My friend had the chicken parmigiana, and it was equally fantastic - the chicken was tender and juicy, and the marinara sauce was rich and savory.“

“One of the best restaurants in the area, if not the best! Huge selection of food despite being a smaller restaurant. The food is absolutely spectacular! I got the macaroni and added pulled pork to it- such a great decision and a choice I would easily get now every-time there! It is a very low key place, that is perfect for hanging out and having a couple drinks with friends new and old! Everyone was super friendly and responsive- we even left our debit card on accident on the table and the waitress came running out to us with it! Would recommend to anyone in the area- great stop in a rural area.“

“Who even knew this little gem existed!! The bartender at another restaurant recommended it. We had a great time. The bartender was funny and personable. He made great drinks. The prices were lower then other bars so who could not like that!! They only take cash but do have an ATM on site if needed. Rovers has a back deck over looking the lake. The views are spectacular! You can even sit on the grass in an Adirondack chair. Just gorgeous! Friday night is kareoke night. I was a bit intimidated at first because the bar had a bunch of locals and i thought they would not like us noobs singing. Boy was I wrong!!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They congratulated us and cheered us on. I love this place!! May be my new favorite kareoke spot!!!“
“This is my daughter's favorite restaurant! We often visit other Wood-n-Tap restaurants but we have the best experience at Newington's. The staff is super friendly and attentive. For starters I always go to the Point Judith Calamari; it never disappoints.Their seasonal dishes are always of great taste and value while their drinks are always on point. I love the Dragon fruit Sangria and the Bourbons.Parking: Close to other worth visiting stores.“
