“Photographing a wedding at The Lodge at the Hops was such a positive experience. The venue itself feels warm, relaxed, and inviting and really the kind of space where couples can truly settle into the day rather than feel rushed from one moment to the next.

What stood out most to us was the venue staff. They were always genuinely wonderful with the couple and consistently attentive, kind, and thoughtful to them throughout the day. They made sure the couple had plenty of refreshments, checked in often, and handled needs quietly and swiftly behind the scenes so everything felt calm and supported. That kind of care makes a huge difference in how relaxed the couple get to feel, and it shows in the moments we’re able to capture.

This was also a day where the vendor team worked beautifully together. Catering from Big Green Truck Pizza and Graze With Mi added to the laid-back, joyful feel of the entire celebration. Florals by Kochetova Flowers really complemented the space thoughtfully, and the overall aesthetic came together very naturally. DJ Exlr8 Music truly brought to the reception lots of energy and kept the atmosphere fun without overwhelming the experience.

In our opinion The Lodge at the Hops is a great option for couples who want a setting that feels genuine, comfortable, and well-supported, add to that a team that truly cares about the experience, not just the timeline and you have a recipe for a memorable experience.“

“I was recently there for dinner with my wife . Food was good , service was excellent and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating and we interacted with a number of them . Nice decor and spoke about coming back in summer months as the venue would be great . Unfortunately we will never go back . When I got the bill I saw that they charged me 75 cents for mustard that I requested for my deluxe burger , I was infuriated . The catsup was free but was blown away by a charge for mustard. Did not complain or even mention it . It was minor on a $60 bill plus a 25% tip . But the fact that someone would nickel and dime you like that said I will take my business elsewhere . Can you imagine doing that?“

“Good bar grub - their pizza is sourced from some of the best in New Haven - but the Chai Martini is next level. I'm a tea guy but I like espresso martinis, and this just has chai instead which is top notch delicious. A nice drink in a Shelton dive, but the bartenders and regulars are also some of the nicest people. Come by!“

This was my second or third time visiting Harp’s Grill Bar & Grill, but my first time actually sitting down to eat—and I’m glad I did.

I stopped in for what I like to call a “late-night snack” and ordered some wings. Let me tell you, those wings were delicious. Thursday night also happened to be karaoke night, and the vibe was exactly what I needed. The atmosphere was laid-back, welcoming, and full of good energy.

If you’re 35+ and looking for a relaxed, grown-folks setting with a mix of cultures, good food, and good music, this is definitely a spot to check out. All cultures and all vibes are welcome here.

“Gusto is absolutely FANTASTIC! My family went there yesterday for my mother's birthday and we all thoroughly LOVED it. The food is incredibly delicious and well-portioned. Our server, especially, was really wonderful, very peppy, caring and attentive. Don't know her name but she is around 4' 11" - 5' 2", wears eyeglasses and is of Asian descent. She's really terrific, as are the chefs. Been wanting to visit Gusto for several years. Well worth the wait.“

However, the past few times I have ordered from Milford colony it’s like eating a tortilla- tonight I ordered there and the pizza was even thinner - the quality of the pizza has been going downhill for a while now yet the quantity of toppings available have been increasing. Please, stick to what you know and bring back the amazing pizza I know this is. Paper thin tonight, not a lot of sauce mostly cheese and my pizza wasn’t even sliced. Because the weather was still good, the party took place in the Sky Terrace…the space was very inviting and large enough to accommodate the 33 of us! Ashley and others of the Caloroso team made sure that no one went thirsty or hungry! The buffet of chicken parm, chicken marsala, pasta, salad, and more was totally delicious and plentiful! The large screen in the room made it possible for all to see the birthday trivia game through which I relived lots of happy memories and milestones! I had no idea what was waiting for me when I walked up the stairs and went through the doors into the Sky Terrace…and I’ll never forget the SURPRISE experience!
