“Every Saturday and Sunday from 11am- 5pm they offer family day where kids can come in to play. My 6 year old loves this place. Wrestle Mania is definitely a favourite game. The food and drinks are excellent. Fries best in New Haven. The staff are lovely. The street Barcade is located on is closed to traffic in the summer creating a public promenade which is nice.“

“If you remember the bar called Old Heidelberg that was in this location 40 years ago, this is not the same bar. That Old Heidelberg closed, and the space was a Thai restaurant for a number of years. More recently, it reopened as a bar under the old name. The new version is a traditional American bar with good drinks. Nothing fancy, but a good place to hang out. I didn't rate the food only because I haven't tried it.“

“We happened to stumble into Elm Diner by chance, and what a find it turned out to be. The moment we walked in, the bright, welcoming atmosphere and spotless space immediately stood out. Then came Nicole, our waitress, greeting us with a genuine smile that made us feel like we’d been coming there for years.

The menu is impressively extensive, offering something for everyone. When our salad arrived, it was fresh, crisp, and generous just like the rest of the meal. Our dishes were flavorful and satisfying.

Nicole was exceptional, and the entire staff added to the experience with their friendliness and energy. There’s a real sense of camaraderie here that you don’t find everywhere.

If you’re anything like me, this place will set the bar for every diner you visit afterward. Every once in a while, you come across a restaurant that truly has it all, and Elm Diner is that rare gem.

“3 of us came to watch my granddaughter play in a basketball tournament at SCSU. We had Googled 'dive bars' on the way. We were not disappointed. The neighborhood atmosphere was evident. From the 3 friendly patrons who greeted us to the genial bartender. A 'Cheers' atmosphere. The 'melt in your mouth' burgers were the best ever. And we were pleasantly amazed with the bill! A definite place to return.“

“First time at Toad's Place. I saw Nine Treasures, Fear Factory, and MushroomHead. Getting parking was a task. I found Public parking few blocks away. The general wait in line was quick. Instead Toad's Place is very well setup. The band merch was neatly setup on the left side near front doors. I didn't see what food prices were or stuff from the bar. I bought a red bull at Toad's Store for $4. Not bad at all. The stage is large and allowed for the bands to be spread out. I didn't get near the front. I stood by the back wall. Restrooms are downstairs. Men's was clean. I don't have a great camera. The photo I included is the main stage“

“This place is amazing! I’ve had such a great experience every time I’ve been here. The atmosphere is always fun, welcoming, and full of energy. The staff is incredibly friendly and works hard to make sure everyone has a great time. You can tell they truly care about their customers.

I know some people compare it to the newer, more expensive clubs, but not everyone is looking for a super fancy or high-end place. Sometimes all you want is great music, a fun crowd, good drinks, and a place where you can actually enjoy yourself—and this club has all of that.

One thing I especially love is how much room there is to dance. It’s a nightclub, after all! The lighting and party atmosphere make the whole experience even more exciting, and the music always keeps the energy up. The drinks are great, and the bartenders are always friendly and quick.

This club has been around for many years, and I think that says a lot. Businesses don’t stay open for decades unless they’re doing something right and have loyal customers who keep coming back. It’s great to see that they’re continuing to improve the place while still keeping the fun atmosphere that so many people enjoy.

“Bar 19 is the best bar in new haven super upscale and classy, Aidan and Olson are the best!!! I broke up with my partner and they went heave and earth to cheer me up. “Came to do trivia visiting from San Diego, CA. I gotta say what a good time! They have great food, greater drinks and impeccable service. Our server was Michelle and she was fantastic! We ordered the fish and chips and the turkey sub with fries. Both were delightful! We came in last place for trivia and got a consolation prize! ? Great times, good food, good people. Highly recommend for a casual night out for food and drinks!“

“Went there last Saturday, August 3rd at 12:30 pm and had the best time ever. I spoke to Riley prior to going asking about the chocolate martinis and she told me that Allisa made really good ones. When we got there to celebrate a girl's day out Riley was there, our waitress Shelly pointed her out so I could go over and introduce myself. Not only did EVERYONE treat us like we had been going there for years and were family, but Alissa made REALLY GREAT DRINKS and the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. My sister had a couple cosmos, and my other friend and I had the chocolate martinis which were WONDERFUL!!! We had chicken tacos, fries and the Burbon pork belly bites were SOOOO GOOD you would want to slap anyone who tried to grab any. This was truly a good time and although it was busy, loud and was SOOOOOO MUCH FUN because everyone was fabulous. I will look forward to going back next time I'm in Connecticut.“
