“First time trying this place , and we did take out . The food wasn’t hot or even warm, which was a little disappointing but we were hungry and still ate it . Aside from that , we really enjoyed the food . Mac and cheese was very delicious and different from regular Mac and cheese . The burnt ends, were so tender and melted in your mouth. The pulled pork sandwich was also very delicious .

“Short Version! Best smoked BBQ. Cannot recommend enough. Chef and staff are excellent. Wethersfield has a gem — the ‘secret’ needs to get out! Long Version! Earlier this week, to celebrate our anniversary, my wife and I went to a smoked barbecue restaurant, Smoked on Main, in Wethersfield. It was her surprise to me. I did not know where we were headed. Both of us love BBQ, my wife grew up in the Kansas — St Louis area; I had spent quite a bit of time in Dallas, our daughter lives in Carolina. There you have it: Kansas City, Texas, and Carolina BBQ! After we arrived and parked, we decided to walk a bit as its location is in an incredibly beautiful quintessential New England restored area (we live in New Haven). There are numerous beautiful old homes (dating from the 17th century), a colonial cemetery started in 1634, the same year as Wethersfield was founded. When I read over the menu, by its choices, its depth and descriptions, including several additional smaller a la carte menus (including the one for five different varieties of smoked tacos) I knew this was some place special. But I reserved my opinion until the food arrived. My wife had the smoked St Louis ribs; I had smoked spicy pork and smoked steak tacos along with the corn salad. Some, if not all, was the best I’ve ever eaten. After I saw the food presentations, tried them, coupled with the sophistication of the menu, I believed the chef had to have been professionally trained. His name is Bronislaw (Bernie) Gorski, and came out to say hello. He is a classically trained chef, started at Ernie’s in San Francisco having been a chef in NYC, Paris, and Brazil, to name just a few. We talked shop for some time. Delightful and incredibly knowledgeable. I say shop because while not in his league, when I was much younger, I was trained as a chef and sommelier in a French restaurant, and worked in the industry for quite some time, including as a consultant. That background expertise is what led me to expect and recognize the quality and presentation of the menu. I cannot recommend Smoked on Main enough. It has not been open long and also does catering. I want to give a ‘shout out’ to Wethersfield. If you are not yet aware of the rich culinary gem you have in your wonderful city — please give them a try! They do a brisk take-out business as well. Thanks to Bernie and to Jennifer who serves as a mainstay there in the evenings (and met us outside as we we were coming in — so hospitable). All the best. We had a delightful time.“

“Got the garlic parm crusted chicken it was a bit salty but good the potato looked fake but was ok but again very salty and not very loaded. Also got the onion appetizer and it was ok nothing like Texas roadhouse blooming onion but they tried at least. Overall pretty good but still prefer Texas roadhouse“

“Alright, there is no better Jerk Pork in the United States than Destiny Awaits. From the first bite, I felt like I had just swung by a jerk center in Port Antonio!

I have never tasted such truly authentic food in all of the United States. What was most interesting to me is that the jerk meats have the flavor of being smoked on Pimento wood, which I don't understand how they could have emulated in Hartford, CT.

If you are looking for real Jamaican food that truly sends you back home, you MUST stop here. It's an overwhelming 5* rating from me!“

“Fun, upbeat, roadhouse style bar & grill. Great service with a smile, good food and drinks, and large portions at reasonable prices. There was a good band playing and sports on the big screens. Great crowd of people having fun. Very upbeat.“

“I would say the biggest downside was the wait; the wait to get inside and the wait to get our food. But honestly it was worth it, the Flo's Filet was so tender and juicy. It wasn't over seasoned either, just enough salt and pepper to enhance the flavor of the beef.

Our server was exceptional, she kept checking in on us, making sure our kids (both under 4) had enough milk the entire time. She also made sure they got their food first so they didn't have to wait too long.

My husband's burger (LH Burger) was good, but nothing exceptional he said. But the fries were seasoned perfectly and they had a nice crunch.

The mushrooms we got for the appetizer, were very tender and juicy and the cheese was delicious.

We also highly recommend the strawberry lemonade and the strawberry margarita. The strawberry shortcake was delicious as well.

Parking: Parking was right next to the restaurant and there was plenty of it.

Kid-friendliness: They had a good variety of kid friendly meal options and the server knew how to keep them happy.“
