“I have to admit, the name of this place initially threw me off, it didn’t immediately say “Korean food” to me, which is probably why I hadn’t tried it sooner. But I’m so glad I decided to step out of my usual routine, this place is an absolute gem!

We tried the Bulgogi Sliders, Korean Tacos, Shrimp Shumai, Chicken Katsu, Soy Garlic Wings, coleslaw, and an order of Bulgogi. Every single dish was fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned.

“Our family has been a patron of Gogi Korean Steakhouse (formerly Wafu) since inception in 2019. We have dined there at least 25 times in the period 2019-2023. (Wafu/Westport opened in 2019 and was owned by the 4 founders of "Tuck Gin" + Simon & Elaine Chen of Westport. The quality of food went down during Covid. In 2022, Wafu/Westport closed temporarily. The restaurant was re-opened later in 2022, this time with Simon & Elaine Chen as owners and managers. Oh, what a difference the change in ownership brought about!) GOGI LOREAN STEAKHOUSE IS SIMPLY WONDERFUL! Simon & Elaine refined the menu, keeping what were originally the best selections and making them even better. Our family favorites (which we order almost every visit, while trying other dishes for comparison) include: * Seafood Pancake (crispy to perfection and stuffed with a variety of seafoods) * Bulgogi (entree sauteed to tender perfection at the table - ask for marinated) * Pork Belly (a close second favorite entree, prepared same as the Bulgogi) Simon personally visits and/or serves each table, making sure everything meets the customers' expectations. “Let me start by saying we’re serious Korean BBQ snobs. When your business partner is Polynesian from Hawaii, Korean BBQ becomes a regular thing—especially when there’s no Hawaiian BBQ nearby (that’s a conversation for another day).

We’ve eaten a lot of Korean BBQ, and while some places miss the mark, this one absolutely does not.

The service is five-star. Staff checks in at the right times, swaps out grills promptly, and is always polite and attentive without being overbearing. The meat quality is excellent across the board—everything tastes fresh and well-prepared.

Highly recommend the beef bulgogi over rice. Any great KBBQ spot has to get their bulgogi right, and this one nails it.

As a local company servicing a ton of homes in the area, some of the other guys and I often stop in for quick lunches when we want solid protein and clean carbs. We’ve also done team dinners here and pigged out with a group. It works for both—and never disappoints. thx hungry pot!!“

“Love their simple and sweet options. I wished they had more seating place to not get cold wind blasts if you are dining in. So far the best Asian cuisine option in Fairfield County with easy access to the highways.
