“Moving from NYC we had concerns of locking down a bagel spot that would live up to our standards - this little hidden gem was the best find. Incredible selection of classic and specialty bagels, always fresh. Breakfast sandwiches are always done perfectly and the croissants are insanely delicious as well!! Super charming area in the back to sit down with the family. If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!“
“As a personal trainer and health conscious I absolutely love this place. It’s. Nice treat right after a killer workout ?️. The cupcakes and mini donuts are out of this world. Wish you had. Place in Wethersfield or newington as I am transferring to healthtrax in newington ?Thank you to cupcake fairy for introducing your cupcakes ? I hardly have sweets, so when I do, I look forward to your cupcakes “
“The first time we tried to go there, everything was sold out, so they closed early. The second time, I made sure to order ahead prior to pick up. The place was so cute with a sit in area that had your typical cafe vibes. I was surprised there were items left when I went to pick up my order the next morning (Friday) at 11 am. Everything in the showcase looked mouthwatering. I admittedly plan to try everything haha. They sell French and southern inspired pastries. The story of their family immigrating from Laos to the US was similar to my family from Cambodia. It's inspiring to see them become successful! The prices were high but the products were quality; I think it's worth it.I ordered an iced chai latte to go as well; this drink was good. I'm looking forward to trying their hand crafted lemonades next time. The showstoppers were the pastries. I ordered the cinnamon rolls, chocolate croissant, Southern sticky pecan buns, and egg in a hole. The egg in the hole was amazing. I was only planning to take a bite since I already ate my lunch. I couldn't stop and ended up finishing it. It has egg, cheese, chives, and chopped ham/bacon in a croissant. The sticky pecan bun was buttery and sweet; the candied pecans had a sugary crunch to it; the most amazing sticky bun I've ever tasted. My husband had the cinnamon bun and said 10/10. Pro tip: put in microwave for 5-10 seconds, even better. In conclusion, I will be back sooner rather than later!“
“This morning we had a dish called The Hungry Harvest at my favorite breakfast. shop. Three scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, avocado, shredded grilled potatoes, and a slice of toasted whole grain bread with notes of chocolate and coffee. Fabulous! As always, the service and ambience were just outstanding“
“????? Celebrating our daughter Gigi’s birthday, my wife and I ventured to Pop Over Eatery in Simsbury, CT, for a breakfast that was beyond our wildest dreams. As a professional chef, I was thrilled to discover a popover (also known as Yorkshire pudding) on the menu—a rare find that instantly caught my attention. The food was nothing short of fantastic, each dish prepared with such care and flavor that left us wanting more. From the sumptuous Belgian waffle to the variety of vegan options, every bite was a delight. What made our visit even more special was Sarah, the owner, who personally came over to ensure we were enjoying our meal, adding a touch of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. Pop Over Eatery is a gem in Simsbury, offering not just incredible food but also a welcoming atmosphere where every guest is treated like family. I wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Hats off to Sarah and her team for making our daughter’s birthday breakfast unforgettable! ???“
“The craft is something special, it's a hidden gem definitely, the place wasn't super busy which was surprising for a Sunday morning. All the bakery items were made that morning and they are gone by the end of the day. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is nice and accommodating. The owner is also very sweat. It was our first time here and to say we're pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The croissant is something straight out of a French bakery, super flaky and light and airy on the inside.Recommendations- croissant, coffee crumb cake, hot latte“
“We went for breakfast. Good place to grab a coffee and/or breakfast sandwich. Also, a great place to work from if your local Starbucks is overcrowded. The staff is always super friendly, and the food is fresh and amazing. They have really good pastries too.“
“Great place, very inviting to stay more time in.Great coffee, and great service, too. It's a nice place that I happen to find in one of my many drives that route. Now I know where to stop by whenever I'm in the area for a quick bite!“
“This place was on my list to check out since moving here. Pastry chef Kim Wood creates masterpieces that has Vietnamese and French influences. The ingredients were fresh, locally sourced, and organic. This was located in what looked like a house converted into a bake shop in a plaza. The place was very cute, had a couple of tables, and even a toy bakery stand for my toddler to play with. Everyone there was so nice and friendly there.I ordered a bunch of items; snickerdoodle cookie, chocolate croissants, banh truffles, mini chocolate waffle, and a Vietnamese iced coffee (yes, I shared it with my husband haha). The desserts I've tried were not too sweet, which I love, and delicious. The coffee was strong and tasty. The snickerdoodle cookie was lightly crispy outside and moist on the inside. The waffle had a lightly sweet glaze on the outside and chocolate on the inside. The chocolate croissants were flakey and yummy. The show stopper were the banh truffles; it tasted like very moist cake pops inside of a chocolate truffle; it had a golden sparkle to it too. All in all, I'm happy to have checked this place out and glad that it's close to me since I will for sure be frequenting it.Kid-friendliness: Had toy bakery stand“
“Mrs. Murphy's has long held a reputation as one of the top doughnut destinations in the area, and as a resident of Connecticut, I've made the trek to their location numerous times, always eager to indulge in their delightful treats. The introduction of a drive-thru setup during the Covid era was a game-changer, offering convenience and safety in equal measure. This shift also brought with it the convenience of accepting credit cards, a welcome change from the previous cash-only policy. In the past, when they operated solely as a storefront, the sight of an ATM in the entryway served as a reminder of the inconvenience for non-cash carriers like myself. However, the real star of the show remains the doughnuts themselves. Each visit presents an array of options ensuring that there's something to satisfy every craving. Mrs. Murphy's consistently delivers on taste and quality, making it a must-visit for doughnut enthusiasts in the area.“
“Delicious bundle of treats. All were soo good but really loved the bar- I can’t remember what it is called but almost a molasses carrot consistency but was soo good and able to have at multiple occasions because so rich. Really love the choices and options here. Recommend“
“This place has it all any time of year. Speciality items season to season, local goodies from other neighboring farms as well as their own amazing non gmo produce- They grown the best corn you will ever find. Their giant cinnamon buns, scones and pies are to die for. The smell lingering inside makes you instantly hungry and want one of everything! Pumpkins and hay rides in the fall, a beautifully filled greenhouse in the spring and Christmas themed everything during the winter makes this place a diamond in the rough. A farm meets a bakery, meets a general store... what's more to love. We need more places like Blossoming Acres.“
“Nice little deli/cafe, pretty decent food, good selection, and friendly staff. Even when it's busy they do a great job of getting your order as quick as possible. Great tasting home made soups and plenty of pastries, cookies, and donuts for those who have a sweet tooth to satisfy. Another thing I like is they always have fresh coffee available here too. Thumbs up to Day Hill Deli.“
“Absolutely delicious bagels. We went there on our way home from breakfast for second breakfast. I grabbed a fresh everything bagel with lox cream cheese. Bagel was perfectly chewy and the cream cheese was cold and delightful. They accidentally made an everything with regular cream and and I ate that also. (they gave me that as a bonus) The wife got a sesame bagel and a cinnamon raisin bagel as this was her first time there and that's how she figures out if a bagel place is worth ever returning. She will be back. That's big fyi. The sesame bagel was covered in sesame in proper sesame bagel style.Their breakfast sangies look intense. I may have to go here for first and second breakfast in one next time.“
“The best bagels I've ever had! Definitely a place you want to try if you want a good quality bagel and great customer service. Armend, the manager, was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure I left with a smile on my face. The selection of cream cheese flavors was impressive, and I find myself coming back for more every time. From the savory cheese bagels to the perfectly toasted options, every bite was a delight. I can't recommend this place enough - it's a must-visit for any bagel lover looking for a top-notch bagel shop!“
