“If I was rating our experience based on our first time going here, it would be 5 stars. Our second visit was not as great as the first. Unfortunately the service lacked, incredibly, our second time here. We watched our waitress go above and beyond for all tables seated around us (similar to the waitress our first time here). When our waitress got to our table, she didn’t ask if it was our first time dining with them (as we’d heard her ask 2 other tables), she didn’t offer to explain any of the specials (as we’d heard her tell the other tables), her demeanor and tone visibly shifted from cheery to monotone each time she got to our table, and she didn’t check in with us throughout our meal. It was incredibly odd. Maybe she wrongly assumed since we are on the younger end of their typical clientele, my husband is covered in tattoos, and we had our young child with us, that she wouldn’t be tipped well?! Not sure. But her service definitely left us with a sour taste towards Grano Arso, which is so unfortunate since we enjoyed our first visit there. My husband left her a 40% tip as he usually does when we dine out; perhaps she won’t be so judgy towards others in the future.“

“Excellent wait staff, varied menu, all dishes were delicious, from apps to dessert. We sat in the front near a window and it was a nice, quiet atmosphere. Sounded more lively toward the back of the restaurant. Would absolutely recommend. We will be coming back!“

“Totally different . My Brother and I stopped for Breakfast on Sunday September 1 st . Very small place and extremely Effecient . A Line was waiting outside but there was a couple of spots available at the Counter . Great bunch working there and used to handling crowds . Three Cooks doing their job right in front of you and 2 Waitresses taking care of Counter and Tables . We had Corn beef hash and eggs which were great . You have to try this place . Plenty of outside tables for good weather .“

“This was my first visit and I really enjoyed it.
I was concerned because it was a Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. and I just knew it would be busy and we may not get seated right away; we were seated as soon as we walked in.

Our server was very attentive.

The food arrived within 10 / 15 minutes

When going to most breakfast places for a first time especially, I always go for my go-to, which is the eggs benedict.

To be honest when my eggs benedict and home fries arrived, the holidays looked a bit different than I am used to at most places and I was unsure about how it would be, taste-wise.
I really enjoyed it and I ate every bite. I always get my English muffins toasted extra for that crunch and so they don't end up too soggy.
Perfect amount of Hollandaise and the home fries were good as well.

Tasty coffee, which matters because you would be surprised or not, that a lot of breakfast places don't serve super good coffee. ?

There was another young lady there who was our actual server and I am so sorry I did not get her name. She was great as well!

An Italian style charcuterie board, shrimp cocktail, mini lobster rolls, herb roasted salmon, Korean style barbeque chicken, corn salad, roasted sweet potatoes with veggies, fruit, cookies, and - of course - crack bread. “We found another one of the Greats today! Grand Apizza started off in the 1950’s and was in New Haven for 50 years! Then the dad, Fred Nuzzo sold the building and moved to Clinton. The same pizza and they opened 3 restaurants, Clinton, Guilford and Madison. The dad went to Clinton and so did we. Let me just say… the pizza is so good! The sauce is top 5. Endless crispy crust perfectly made… and tasty saucy sauce. The garden pie was also quite special with just the right amount of tangy balsamic vinegar! I was super happy to meet Fred’s son, Mike. You can tell he is very humble and proud of their amazing piece of pizza history. Legendary pizza today. 9.7 solid score for the cheese. The tomato pie was a 10. Perfect 10. It’s something that can only be experienced verses spoken about. The garden veggie was an 8.3. “This place is really cool. It's kind of like if a bunch of vegetarian hipsters bought an old diner, cleaned it up, and decided to serve gourmet food. They have many many fancy seaming non-vegetarian options. But what drew me in was the sign that it was a vegetarian enclave haha. Definitely a few good looking vegan choices. I ordered a falafel pita, which was tasty and just the right portion size for a nice little lunch. Very friendly staff, very in tune to dietary restrictions. Everything on the menu is labeled about dairy-free, not free, all that. So if you have any dietary restrictions, you would love this place.

The place was also very clean, very easy to get to. Totally recommend this please.
