Server was excellent explained the menu clearly and we decided to have a spinach omelet delicious , home fries were fantastic. “The Turtle Cafe has the best Breakfast food in the Westbrook area!!! You not only get wonderful food, but if you sit at the counter you get unbelievable entertainment from the Chef/Cooks!!! We went but three times during the week that we stayed in Westbrook. 😋👍“

“Dinner was very good. We went for the $39 fixed price menu as the choices were to our liking. Started with the shredded kale salad (which should have been cut into smaller "shreds" as it was hard to eat) and the polenta with gorgonzola sauce. Very tasty. Salmon and coq au vin for entrees. Perfect size portions and delicious. Desserts were disappointing. Vanilla gelato with caramel sauce was basically a decent vanilla ice cream with a few drizzles of caramel which looked like the dessert had been pre-made and came out of the freezer. Lemon mousse crepes were odd. A crepe - nothing in it - with a dollop of lemon mousse on top that you had to spread over the crepe? Glasses of wine were expensive ($21 each) but good. Tyler was our waiter and he was great. Very attentive, helpful, knew the menu and ingredients, paced our courses and we didn't feel rushed. Ambiance was nice as we sat in the main room with the high ceiling. And the bread was fabulous. Definitely worth the $$ for the fixed price menu. I'd suggest other dessert choices thoiugh. We will be back for the regular menu!“

I walk up and they say r u picking up and I’m like no I wanted one of the frozen pies in the case. Sorry register is all closed. “As I entered the premises I was shortly greeted by staff and my needs addressed. I was assigned a great table in the bar area with a banquette, I loved the dim lighting. It made for a very special evening. The server and busboy were attentive and sociable, the service quick and appreciative.

“We found another one of the Greats today! Grand Apizza started off in the 1950’s and was in New Haven for 50 years! Then the dad, Fred Nuzzo sold the building and moved to Clinton. The same pizza and they opened 3 restaurants, Clinton, Guilford and Madison. The dad went to Clinton and so did we. Let me just say… the pizza is so good! The sauce is top 5. Endless crispy crust perfectly made… and tasty saucy sauce. The garden pie was also quite special with just the right amount of tangy balsamic vinegar! I was super happy to meet Fred’s son, Mike. You can tell he is very humble and proud of their amazing piece of pizza history. Legendary pizza today. 9.7 solid score for the cheese. The tomato pie was a 10. Perfect 10. It’s something that can only be experienced verses spoken about. The garden veggie was an 8.3. “We ended up ordering a large pepperoni pie and traditional buffalo wings and boy was this worth while. The consistency of the cheese on the pizza felt like I was in a teenage mutant ninja turtle episode with the cheese pulls. The wings were the PERFECT level of crispy and balanced out with the buffalo sauce. Price is definitely worth the visit. They also offer traditional Latino dishes which look like they're made authentically, so we will be stopping by again! Great mom &pop shop to visit!“

“Hungry after a few hours at Gillette Castle, we were looking for lunch/dinner. We had a wonderful experience at Pattaconk! Our waitress was friendly and attentive to my dietary needs (Celiac’s). We had a burger, quesadilla & Nashville chicken stripes. My burger had a gf bun & was delicious, husb & daughter loved the stripes & quesadilla. Restaurant had a nice, chill atmosphere, everyone enjoying drinks & food. We will be back when out in the area.“
