“We found another one of the Greats today! Grand Apizza started off in the 1950’s and was in New Haven for 50 years! Then the dad, Fred Nuzzo sold the building and moved to Clinton. The same pizza and they opened 3 restaurants, Clinton, Guilford and Madison. The dad went to Clinton and so did we. Let me just say… the pizza is so good! The sauce is top 5. Endless crispy crust perfectly made… and tasty saucy sauce. The garden pie was also quite special with just the right amount of tangy balsamic vinegar! I was super happy to meet Fred’s son, Mike. You can tell he is very humble and proud of their amazing piece of pizza history. Legendary pizza today. 9.7 solid score for the cheese. The tomato pie was a 10. Perfect 10. It’s something that can only be experienced verses spoken about. The garden veggie was an 8.3. “We have been enjoying Chow for years and everything we have ever had from them has been delicious but yesterday… Father’s Day, they went above and beyond! They were packed and after waiting for a while for my take out order (understandable for a busy night) they confessed and profusely apologized because in the rush of the busy evening one of my pizzas had been dropped. Without missing a beat they promised my pizzas would be remade and delivered to my house…. Half hour away!!! That is stellar customer service!!! “My wife and I went to Brickside before the show at the Ivoryton Theater. We ordered a glass of wine and a draft beer and chose the Brickside pizza. It was fantastic! The crust, sauce and toppings were amazing and just as described. Pricing is reasonable, the atmosphere comfortable and the service was timely and friendly. We enjoyed the experience and made it to the show on time.“

“Grano Arso is an absolute must-try! The food was unbelievably good, and the service was exceptional from start to finish. Lani, Chef Joel, and the entire staff truly know what they’re doing.

We started with the peaches and Nardello peppers, followed by the short rib, Toasted Rye Tagliatelle, and Rigatoni Bolognese. Everything was incredible and so well done. Easily one of the best meals we’ve had in a long time.

“I saw the Channel 12 News segment over 11 years ago and have had been wanting to go and have their lobster crepe. It surpassed my dreams, which is a rarity. The first bonus was the wonderful staff (waitress and cook). I was so touched by their kindness that most places miss nowadays. Having driven from Stamford to Turtle Cafe was the best decision of self love I could ever give myself. The crepes were amazingly flavored, big pieces of lobster and the goat cheese highlighted the dish. They serve it with a small field green salad that complimented the dish. So take it from a true foodie, go and experience it for yourself. Who knows, you might be as lucky as I was to meet the couple who I was honored to meet who go there everyday. That's how GOOD Turtle Cafe is. Addicting!!“

The consistency of the cheese on the pizza felt like I was in a teenage mutant ninja turtle episode with the cheese pulls.
