“My wife and I went here for one of the stops on our honeymoon. The golf cart ride from the remote parking lot was relaxing. We had a water front seat It was absolutely breathtaking. The food was amazing the waiter was friendly and took time to answer any questions we had. We will be back one of the best seafood restaurants we’ve been to.“

“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. “All around wonderful experience. The fact that the day was sunny with a breeze helped to make this an overall 5. Service was friendly and attentive. Steamers were great, a few with grit but most were sweet and tasty. I don’t eat oysters but those in my group who do said they were good. NE Clam chowder was very good. Could have been slightly thicker but had a great flavor and was seasoned well. Lobster was sweet, tender and juicy. Perfectly cooked. You don’t go to this type of place for their potato salad and coleslaw but they both deserve a mention because they were good, especially the coleslaw, it had a great crunch and was dressed but not dripping in condiments. Special lobster roll was also really good, stuffed with lobster meat. We tried both corns, buttered one was hands down the best, the corn flavor was front and center but also glad we tried the other one. Will definitely return to try more menu options. A perfect New England experience.“

My pops and I stopped first at Stonington Point, the American flag waving strong over the water. He looked at it and said, “I did my 20.” That line hit deep. From there, we made our way to Breakwater, a beautiful spot right on the harbor. The second we stepped inside, we were greeted by that warm coastal glow thru bright windows, with beautiful waterfront views, and a calm, classy energy. 💣 And then came one of those full-circle moments life throws at you sometimes… Our server was Trina, someone I worked with almost 30 years ago at Mohegan Sun Casino. Seeing her again made the day even more special. She was absolutely wonderful, kind, quick, and professional. It was everything you could expect. Service was top-notch. 💣 Now let’s talk about that food 👇🏾 1️⃣ Crispy Fried Calamari- $17.50 💣 Light, crispy, and perfectly fried. The cherry peppers gave it just the right kick, and that Thai Chili sauce was straight fire. Pops and I tore it down in minutes 🤷🏾‍♂️😀 both calling it a bomb. 2️⃣ Fish & Chips- $24.50 💣 Fried Atlantic Cod - Done golden and perfect. My fries were crispy and seasoned just right; My Pops went with sweet potato fries. Delicious Coleslaw, and with cocktail sauce every bite of fish hit. Comfort food at its best. We both said bomb 3️⃣ Seafood Pasta- $34.50 💣 This one was loaded: four big scallops, three shrimp, crab meat and two thick lobster pieces all swimming in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce with a little sweetness from the julienne veggies. Every bite was rich, buttery, and flavorful. This s**t was incredible - bomb all the way. Everything we ordered hit. No misses, no maybes. Breakwater delivered from start to finish Son! “The Shipwright's Daughter came highly recommended to us by locals we had talked with while vacationing in Mystic, and it did not disappoint. We booked a reservation for 7:15pm on a Saturday evening, and we were seated promptly at 7:15. From the hosts initial greeting, to our server first introducing herself at the table, every staff member made us feel welcomed. It was lovely. The cocktail my girlfriend ordered and the local draft I ordered were both outstanding. Our appetizers of Oysters on the Half Shell and a Yellowfin Tar Tar served on a Potato Pavé, were both so delicious, full of flavor, and beautiful. Our entrees consisted of the Zucchini Bucatini and the Duck Confit special, and both came out perfect. The seasoning, the cook of the duck, the plating were all immaculate. It's very clear the staff takes pride in their work, and make sure the guests have an outstanding experience. We finished with dessert, a Plum Sorbet Pavlova with a Peach Reduction, an Espresso Martini, and an Irish Coffee. We were finished with our meal and drinks and on our way by 8:20pm. All in all, it was the best experience I've had in a restaurant. The meals were phenomenal, the staff was top tier ( I apologize I can not remember our waitresses name, but she was outstanding), and the overall experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are traveling to the mystic area, and you want to have an outstanding dining experience, this is the place for it“

“BEST CLAM FRITTERS. I am a local guy and have lived here most of my life. Every summer I conduct my version of the great fritter chase. SEAVIEW SNACK BAR, is the 2023, UNDISPUTED winner. “Was pleasantly surprised to see Freds Shanty open for a quick bite to eat! And even more so when Ozzie came out to say hello and that he just recently bought and opened the place! Scallop roll was yummy! And reasonably priced. I treated myself since I’ve been home all winter lol!“

“This was kind of a last minute thing because a friend heard we were in this area and recommended it. It was about an hour before they closed, so there was no wait for the two of us. Everyone was super nice and helpful.

Someone else in the reviews mentioned that there’s street parking (very little, don’t rely on finding any) and there’s also a public lot about a block away (short walk slightly uphill to the restaurant). The restaurant validates an hour, which turned out to be a $5 credit, we stayed a little over an hour and a half and ended up paying like $10 still if I remember correctly.

My husband and I are NOT seafood people, which makes this restaurant an unusual choice for us. They do have non-seafood options but we both had a fairly heavy lunch so decided to try their fish dishes. The native catch that day was swordfish which my husband got, and I had the monkfish katsu (don’t look up what a monkfish looks like if you don’t already know 😅). Both were absolutely delicious. Dessert was an almond brown butter cake that was to die for. I’d love to return to try their other menu items someday.“

There is only outdoor seating so this spot recently reopened on April 25th for the Season. This afternoon my Brother AP, his children & I dropped into Sea Swirl to find out if they are serving up Good Lobster Rolls and I also had to try out one of their new "Lobster Cones". I ordered and reviewed: 1. Lobster Bisque Cone $13.99 💣 2. Hot Lobster Roll $28.99 👍🏾 I started with the Lobster Bisque Cone and enjoyed every delicious spoonful! The Lobster Cone is similar to a bread bowl with Lobster Bisque but the cone tastes like a croissant. So good! I gave it a Thumbs up but in hindsight it really deserved a bomb 💣 because it was Top Notch! Next I dove into the Lobster roll. First off, the price of the Lobster Roll is lower than most spots and it was absolutely delicious! I loved it and it earned a Thumbs👍🏾 I will drop into Sea Swirl for Lobster Rolls and Lobster Cones all summer long because that spot is Dope! “We just took my daughter for her 17th birthday, she originally wanted sushi. She looked at the menu and immediately changed her mind and chose to try her first seafood boil! She absolutely LOVED IT! The servers are fast and friendly and the food is GREAT! She chose snow crab legs and black mussels, my boyfriend had a crab cluster combo and I had a sausage boil combo. “Food and service are always wonderful. One of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is always consistently great and the staff is efficient and professional. They always make sure your coffee is full and take care of any issues quickly and make sure they can accommodate any customers that come in. My son is in love with their chocolate chip pancakes! They also make amazing breakfast sandwiches and my favorite is their eggs bennidict.
