About Donahue's Clam Castle

Donahue's Clam Castle is a classic clam shack offering a variety of New England seafood dishes. Customers appreciate the casual atmosphere and outdoor seating, making it a great spot for groups. The menu includes familiar favorites like the NE clam chowder, which receives positive reviews, and a fun lobster roll menu designed for sharing. While many dishes are well-liked, including the fried clams and burgers, some feedback indicates inconsistency in food quality. The lobster bisque has received criticism for being cold and lacking flavor, while the combo platter has had mixed reviews regarding the fish's texture. Despite some issues, the service is noted to be friendly and accommodating, with staff quick to address mistakes, as seen when a customer received a correct seafood platter after a mix-up. The Donohue family has returned as owners, enhancing the ambiance while maintaining the friendly service the restaurant is known for. Overall, Donahue's Clam Castle is a place where loyal customers can enjoy a casual seafood meal, but experiences may vary with certain menu items.

This place has gone seriously down hill since these new owners took over with their Taco Pacifico added. This was an iconic shoreline go to place but now the food is not good and way overpriced. Service is no smile, don't care attitudes. I tried to give it a chance twice since they changed buy after last time,
never again. I've even seen on Google reviews where they actually insult some of their customers who give a bad review. Absolutely unacceptable.

Authentic Los Angeles street tacos. Finally found my spot brings me back home. Going to love Taco Tuesday now. Will be a repeat customer.

Has gone down hill since it changed owners. Food is okay but not as good as it was. Seems like they care more about the tacos than the seafood. Tonight I had fried clam strips. The coleslaw wasn’t any good. Clam strips were okay but a lot of small broken pieces. Then to top it off, almost broke my tooth on a piece of clam shell that had the fried coating on it. I’ve had clam strips plenty of times before and that’s a first. Wouldn’t be quick to go back.
