“We had a truly fabulous meal at Barbary Coast recently! Lauren was taking care of us and was very kind and helpful with the menu. We had the spreads and bread, beets, salad, whole fish and steak. All were delicious, flavorful and fresh. The menu and wine list is a bit limited but it’s a small restaurant so it makes sense. They still had something for everyone. The bottle of wine we had was delicious as well. This is a great addition to the Mystic food scene which was lacking in great Mediterranean places.“

“My husband and I visited S & P Oyster Co. on our honeymoon, and it truly could not have been a more exquisite experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm, inviting, and perfect for a special occasion. We started with fresh oysters on the half shell, pan-seared octopus, and pan-seared scallops, each dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely outstanding. For our entrées, we enjoyed the sesame-encrusted yellowfin tuna and the homemade squid ink pasta, both of which were exceptional in flavor and quality. Our waiter, Jeff, made the night even more memorable. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind, offering wonderful recommendations and never rushing us. The drinks were fantastic as well and complemented the meal perfectly. S & P Oyster Co. gave us a honeymoon dinner we will never forget. We can’t recommend this place enough and can’t wait to return. We make it a point to come every year!“

“Just enjoyed amazing cocktails (Gimlet and Curry Barbados) and Nosh (mushrooms had amazing flavor, Korean fried chicken sandwich, salty and delicious, empanadas crisp and yummy) from their Happy Hour menu which is being expanded from 4:00 to 6:00. On Tuesday starting at 6:30 or 7:00 is a jazz quartet which we sadly had to miss but will definitely be back. Our waitress Claire was darling and very informative. Bartender was spectacular!“

“First impression is tight. When you walk in, end of bar is a couple feet from the door (no hostess). Staff are very pleasant and helpful, though. Bar area on first floor, dining room on second floor, and then there was outside seating. DH loves a good fish taco, and they def delivered. I had the special: pan seared scallops in sauce. So good. While there, a drink mishap happened on the steps. No freak out or drama. Just cleaned up and moved on.“

“Not much to look at from the outside, but very deceiving. Our dinner was excellent. My husbands muscles were served perfectly. And, I had the best and most unusual salad. And our server, Adam, was by far the best ever. Olio is lucky to have him.“

“11.11.25 *WRITTEN REVIEW Big Al’s Reel Reviews - Ep.179 🇺🇸 (Veteran’s Day Edition) 🍽️ Breakwater - Stonington Borough, CT Big Al’s 💎 Gem Spot It was one of those raw, windy Veteran’s Days down by the shoreline. My pops and I stopped first at Stonington Point, the American flag waving strong over the water. He looked at it and said, “I did my 20.” That line hit deep. From there, we made our way to Breakwater, a beautiful spot right on the harbor. The second we stepped inside, we were greeted by that warm coastal glow thru bright windows, with beautiful waterfront views, and a calm, classy energy. 💣 And then came one of those full-circle moments life throws at you sometimes… Our server was Trina, someone I worked with almost 30 years ago at Mohegan Sun Casino. Seeing her again made the day even more special. She was absolutely wonderful, kind, quick, and professional. It was everything you could expect. Service was top-notch. 💣 Now let’s talk about that food 👇🏾 1️⃣ Crispy Fried Calamari- $17.50 💣 Light, crispy, and perfectly fried. The cherry peppers gave it just the right kick, and that Thai Chili sauce was straight fire. Pops and I tore it down in minutes 🤷🏾♂️😀 both calling it a bomb. 2️⃣ Fish & Chips- $24.50 💣 Fried Atlantic Cod - Done golden and perfect. My fries were crispy and seasoned just right; My Pops went with sweet potato fries. Delicious Coleslaw, and with cocktail sauce every bite of fish hit. Comfort food at its best. We both said bomb 3️⃣ Seafood Pasta- $34.50 💣 This one was loaded: four big scallops, three shrimp, crab meat and two thick lobster pieces all swimming in a creamy garlic Parmesan sauce with a little sweetness from the julienne veggies. Every bite was rich, buttery, and flavorful. This s**t was incredible - bomb all the way. Everything we ordered hit. No misses, no maybes. Breakwater delivered from start to finish Son! Great atmosphere, phenomenal service, and food that was cooked with care and flavor. This Veteran’s Day review turned into something special. Breakwater is officially a Big Al’s 💎 Gem Spot. “As a local who frequents Mix in all its seasons, I was blown away by the stellar service and experience I had with my family this past weekend for my cousins birthday! I had only ever enjoyed Mix in a small group, but was amazed with how accommodating they were for a reservation for a large group of 15! Our server was on top of everything, including checking around the table for allergies, as there were a few young children in our party. As a teacher and someone who works at a summer camp, this attention to detail was so appreciated! I have nothing but good things to say about Mix!“

“We visited before dinner time on a weekday but they still had a steady flow of customers. The gentleman mixologist working day shift was awesome (I’m horrible with names) very interactive, professional and fun. We moved to a table to eat at shift change and were not disappointed. The fritters were great, sweeter than I like but still impressed with the flavors and appreciated they were cooked through for the generous sizes! Quesadillas were perfect and thick! The surf and turf…. The only thing I could say bad was there was only two shrimp, however they were HUGE and butterflied beautifully. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. The portions will never have you saying “that’s all for the price?” You guys are doing a great job! Can’t wait to come back and get deeper into the menu!“

“I stayed @ Mohegan for 3 days prior to brain surgery which of course no one knows trying to relive some happy times and taking my mind off the what if’s of this upcoming ordeal.The 3 staff members Tyler , Sage and I cannot remember the other young lady's name I apologize , all helped me on different days they all are extremely kind , patient and passionate people. I asked questions about the menu because my eyesight has been effected and not knowing I’m already disabled and have this tumor their demeanor and way of handling the line of people was outstanding!All 3 of these Exceptional employees deserve recognition in today’s day and age.Please take a minute as I did to thank them personally it will make their day !!A healthy tip always helps tooCheers“

“100 stars a must try Sol Toro!! It’s way better than the fast food places .. food was all fresh guacamole made right at your table, waiting staff and managers were all marvelous!! Try the buffalo cauliflower tacos!! Chicken quesadillas chicken fajitas all came a must!!“

“Absolutely legendary experience at this spot - which is phenomenal.
The owner, Brian, took 30 minutes out of his day to talk to my girlfriend and I about the history of the area and the bar.
Drinks were phenomenal so was the food, truly an A+ environment.
Also, I had the best slice of cake in my entire damn life… I will be returning.“
