“We don't visit Middletown a lot, but thought we'd do so today. Turned out to be a good idea, but what made the day *great* was just happening to choose Hachi for our lunch. Oh my, where to begin? It's a lovely place, intimate and welcomig. The menu for food and drink has so many excellent choices that it's hard to decide, but we finally opted for a chirashi bowl and a Hawai'ian poke bowl. Both delicious choices, beautifully presented, fish that was super-fresh and tasty, and portions so generous that I came close to not finishing mine. (And that would have been a shame, because leaving behind something that good? Unthinkable.) As usual for me, my main concern with a new place is seeing how they deal with my husband's allergy. I need not have worried: They checked and double-checked to be certain his allergen was nowhere present in his order. Service was fantastic: Friendly, attentive, helpful and caring. In addition, the cleanliness and protocols in place for dealing with the pandemic were top-notch. No worries! In sum, it matters not that Hachi isn't all that close to where we live; we'll be coming back as often as possible!“
