Was going by this place at 6:30 AM and greeted with a very kind and happy person.The manager or owner was super friendly with me, explained everything to me and even gave me a few toppings on the house because it was my first time. I got an açai bowl that knocked my socks off. It was full of great granola and seeds and peanut butter. I couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast. And top it all off. They had great strong coffee. “This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I met Counter Weight numerous times during beer festivals, but never understood their appeal to the public. It was until I visited the brewery.

First things first, the brewery occupies a big building and has an enormous space. The first floor is sectioned into 3 rooms, allowing for some privacy should you plan any events. There's also a patio, where the majority during our visit were the dog owners, and a 21+ game zone with some field games. They also have space on the second floor, but I did not go there. The brewery partnered with Ritual Pizza as their kitchen. We ordered a pizza and chicken tenders, and everything was delicious. The whole place was packed on Saturday evening.

Now, for the beers. This brewery specializes in 2 directions: traditional European beers and IPAs. As I'm not a big fan of IPAs, I was focused on the European styles during my visit. You cannot order beer flights here, but they can provide a short pour (10oz) of any beer with a limit of one short pour at a time. I tried many of Counter Weight beers before, but still their lineup was almost completely new to me, so my guess is that the beers are rotated often. I was able to try 5 beers during my visit. My absolute favorite was Grodziskie - a traditional 3.5% smoked wheat beer, which is incredibly hard to find in CT. But in general, I loved everything I had - Vienna Lager was rich in taste, Ein Helles was a direct hit in the style, and so on.

I'm pretty impressed by the quality of the beers produced here. If you're a fan of European beers, this should be a stop on your journey.“

“We had my daughter’s baby shower at Lola’s. From the start of booking until the day of the shower. So easy to work with. The day of the shower, we were greeted with such warmth and truly our waitress for our party, Becky, was fantastic. Catered to our every need and was so beyond helpful. She worked very hard and was so pleasant! The food was amazing and plenty of it! Guests went back for seconds! Becky even went above and beyond for my mom who couldn’t eat something and prepared a new one just for her. Truly a gem of a place! “Factory Square is a huge old factory that was converted into a mixed-use space. Parking was free and plentiful; you have the option to park on street or in their huge lot. It's located on a paved bike trail too; the entrance by the bike path didn't have an elevator but on the side entrance, there was one. The space was spacious, loved the exposed pipes, bricks, and the historic feel.

There were a few businesses that we visited on this occasion. The first one was Perkatory Coffee for some caffeine; then Rosie's Royal chocolate for some sweets; then The Lab for lunch; finally, Witchcraft Brewery for a beer. Service from these places were great. There were tables and seats in the hallway you can dine and relax at. Other businesses include, a bakery, a pet shop, CrossFit, escape room, arcade, etc.

I think this is a great use of space and a fun spot to hang out at. I loved all the options there. I think they're constantly adding new businesses too. Overall, a fun spot and worth the visit!“

My son and I bought 3 large regular pies not knowing that we should've probably ordered the mozzarella..but we ate a pie and a half between us, and then I brought some home and we finished it all .. I could have run 10 miles after it. Very light and enjoyable. We are coming back for the mozzarella!“

So next time you go, make sure you ask for Taylor, but if you’re a regular, you already know how nice she is, but for those who are looking for a good place to eat or get a little tipsy, see if Taylor is there, also a quick little secret is to TIP GOOD! But yet again, make sure the best bartender is around, but don’t worry, the others are good too, if I could leave Taylor a 10 out of 5 star rating, I would!“

I love it and so does my 9 year old daughter. I'd recommend friedlys to others any day , and I do actually. My niece comes here too now with me all the time

It comes with delicious teriyaki meat with a bit of vegetables, a side of white rice, shumai, sushi (California roll) with a side of ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce, a side salad, and a bowl of miso soup. “No matter whether I’ve gone in person or ordered through door dash it has always been an enjoyable place to get food. I've gotten different protein bowls from them one I made myself and their special miso salmon. Both are so good and no matter who makes it, it is delicious and I enjoy getting it. After finishing my meal I am satisfied and the amount of rice mix with everything else is amazing. I also love going to the store and seeing the bowl made in front of me knowing the items are fresh and new everyday. I love this place and enjoy every bite of my bowls“
