The new Chef has made a big difference here. The two apps we had ( crab cakes , rack of lamb ) were delicious, and the mains were tasty and cooked perfectly as well. We topped it all off with a butter cake desert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We would go back to this historic restaurant again.Parking: Plenty of spots to park .
Kitchen needs to up their game. Salmon was way overcooked and steak tips were over done. The menu is basic, nothing fancy or challenging so they should be able to execute basic plates.

We had our son’s rehearsal dinner at the 1850 House in Southbury. We reserved the second floor private room for a party of 37. The staff was attentive from the start. The charcuterie and appetizer setup was beyond our expectation, so much food and elegantly displayed. Drinks were ordered and served promptly. The Mgr followed up with us regularly between courses.
