I don't live close to Marty's, but whenever I'm close by, I stop by for the tasty food (I enjoyed the wheat berry salad this time!) and the friendly atmosphere.”

“Why clean the milkshake machine 15m before close? Isn’t equipment supposed to be cleaned after close? My family came in, and at 7:44 we asked if we could have 4 milkshakes, and they said “sorry the milkshake machine has been cleaned we don’t do them 15m before close.” … I do find that a bit silly especially during peak season, when it takes minutes to clean a milkshake machine.

Ice cream itself is always amazing, I guess I’ll have to come order my milkshakes 20m before close.”

“We dined at Winvian Farm last night, and it was fabulous. Cocktails on the patio as the sun went down, followed by a delicious four-course dinner upstairs, were the perfect finale to an incredible summer in Litchfield County.

We enjoyed our meal in one of the side dining rooms, which felt both cozy and bright. The staff was warm and hospitable, the pacing was perfect, and the beautifully manicured grounds added to the entire experience. It was a truly memorable evening...and a superb celebration of life.”

“We had the pleasure of dining here for the first time this evening! WOW! How have we not tried this restaurant until now?!! Exceptional dining experience! Started with smoked wings and the shishito peppers, which were out of this world good! Fish and chips with fries done in duck fat, Mac n cheese with short rib was soooo good with the Gouda cheese! Julia was an amazing server! It is difficult to find even a good dining experience these days…we would rate this one as exceptional!”

“Yummy Italian American food in a cozy environment! The portions are jumbo at normal prices. Appetizers under $10, mains under $20, yay! The mains all come with a side salad. We really enjoyed the fresh bread that comes out before the food, it was nice and hot! They have a good range of Italian American classics and you can customize to your liking. I added spicy sausage to my penne pink sauce and it was delicious!

Our server was fun to talk to and our waters were always full. They do have a couple specials at a time.”

“I am in from South Carolina and my friends brought me to John’s Cafe. Everything from start to finish was amazing! Signature cocktails, (They had a Pumpkin Russian cocktail that was amazing) appetizers, entrees , and desserts were all great! “Wife and I went out to dinner and as usual food was on point. Base menu is always good and they always have a seasonal menu of great options. I tried the smoked old fashion and it was a home run. They put on the whole show and smoked the drink right at the table. Definitely not a disappointment. They always have seasonal drinks and come up and ask how they were. Lots of care in the food and drinks they put on the menu.”

She makes the croissants and English muffin bread from scratch, and uses the thickest bacon around on her sandwiches. Everyday there’s something new in the baked goods case, and I never regret getting it (cough cough carrot cake cheese cake coffee cake) 🤤. Love hearts is truly a hidden gem”

“had a wonderful lunch with the girls! the Mediterranean Mezze appetizer platter was a great choice to sample various offerings: delicious. zucchini souffle pancakes were out of this world and very hearty! best falafels ever! great fattoush salad. excellent eggplant offerings and wonderful hummus. wonderful offerings for vegetarians and even vegans! also delicious custard to end with. highly recommend!”

“Went out with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the Chefs Table menu. Chef Dino came to the table asked a few questions about allergies and preferences and took care of the menu from there. We required gluten free options and all but one dish (pita for the dip course) met that requirement. All of the dishes served exceeded my expectations. I have tried foods like artichokes and lamb in different places and had decided I did not like them, until this meal. I now love artichokes and lamb and a few other foods! Thank you Chef Dino for expanding my palate and opening a whole new cuisine for me!!! I look forward to returning and trying many new dishes!!”

“My husband and I got a custom order that consisted of a dozen mini croissants and a dozen lemon madelines for a brunch. Everything was delicious! No croissants were left untouched and we got so many compliments. We happily spread the word of where they were from. Great customer service, too. Highly recommend!”
