21 Best Craft Breweries near West Hartford

New Park Brewing Brewery • $$
485 New Park Ave, West Hartford

“I visit this brewery occasionally because of how good their beer is. I have a soft spot for stouts and barrel aged beers, since not many breweries like to Brew them. New Park mailed those down perfectly. Their imperial stouts - Ferrous and Crane - are close to perfection with the rich coffee and chocolate taste. Cypress (barleywine) is arguably among the best barleywines I tried. IPA/DIPAs are also decent and hoppy of you're into this. There's plenty of space inside and they have a patio opened during warm months. The place also has its own kitchen and their website is up to date on both menu and the beer, which I personally appreciate.“

WeHa Brewing & Roasting Company Brewery • $$

“We hosted our friend’s Celebration of Life at WeHa. Cody was flexible with us about the date/timing of the party as it coincided with an already pre-planned event. Additionally, he was very responsive to our many emails! The venue was beautiful, and it was a great location to get 100 people together to raise a glass to our live who passed.“

Alvarium Roasting Company Brewery • $$

“Great atmosphere! Came for pre-turkey day trivia which also was a blanket drive-- good cause! We like ciders and sours so did a flight with Sucker Punch'd and Scorpion Bowl being our favorites! Service was fast, friendly and helpful (the keg of scorpion kicking with my pour so they have me another of my choice, which was awesome). Would def stop in again!“

Paddle Creek Beer Company Brewery • $$
1277 Main St, East Hartford - 5.34 miles

“Really well crafted beers. The inside of the brewery is built and decorated to give you a warm, cozy feel. You will not feel like you're on Main St in EH. It made me feel like I was in a brewery in NH or ME. Worth the trip! Will definitely be back!“

Alvarium Beer Company Brewery • $$
365 John Downey Dr B, New Britain - 6.8 miles

“One of my favorite go-to breweries in New Britain! Have only had good experiences with the service here, everyone's always very friendly and personable! Great spot for big groups, as it's super spacious. Also, dog friendly!! My little guy loves to join me and my friends for a night out, enjoying his own special dog beer! The human beers are great too with a large selection, highly recommend!!“

Transcend Beer Crafters Brewery • $$
36 Triano Dr Unit A, Southington - 11.96 miles

“There are limited hours but worth the visit. The brewer/owner takes real pride in their beer and lets you sample the product and then order individual cans. All the beers are good but there are some that really fit my palate and I was able order a custom amount of cans. I’ll be back and I really appreciate this unique brewery with really really good unique beers. This place is about passionate beers rather than just making sales.“

Dudleytown Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1001 Day Hill Rd, Windsor - 8.15 miles

“Could this spot be any cooler? I grew up knowing all the lore around Dudleytown so this brewery was a must-try. They have food trucks but you can also bring in your own food/snacks. The beer is...wow. So good. The stouts are especially delectable. The place is huge and the outdoor space is beautiful but it was January when we went so we didn't sit outside. But I can't wait to go when it's warm. This place is a vibe for sure.“

Tri-It Taproom Brewery • $$
300 W Main St, Avon - 6.9 miles

“What a cool spot!! Slightly difficult to spot, don't overlook this really special spot!! The owners are on site and welcoming to all that stop by. There is a self serve beer, wine and cider wall - seriously!! The charge is by the ounce, so try a taste and see what you like! The system includes getting a personalized card that allows you to "self serve" their amazing brews. The food is also super - I tried one of the flat breads and wasn't disappointed. They were accommodating to a group of about 12 visiting - reserved some tables pushed together for our use and gave us great service. Yes! They did separate checks for everyone because you order using a QR code and pay on the app. They then deliver it to you at the table! Thank you!“

Relic Brewing Brewery • $
95 Whiting St, Plainville - 9.27 miles

“Hosted a small gathering here and everything was amazing! Reserving tables was quick and easy, and we were able to set up decorations/bring in our own food. Great selection of beers, cocktails, and liquor - and great staff too! Recommend this spot to enjoy a beer, or host a party!“

Thomas Hooker Brewery at Colt Brewpubs • $$
140 Huyshope Ave, Hartford - 4.06 miles

“I came in here on a Saturday afternoon when I was in town for the Hartford Marathon. It wasn't too busy and it was easy to find a seat. I ordered a flight and a half order of nachos. The half order was a large portion and they did not skim on the toppings!“

East Hartford Brewing Brewery •
776 Tolland St, East Hartford - 7.45 miles

“Wow! What else can I say... this is a great brewery! Our friend introduced this spot to us and what a winner! If you're from East Hartford you may recognize their brews from Burnside like the famous Ten Penny Ale. They're back as East Hartford Brewery with some of their old favorites and more! I got a flight and this was the first time in a long time I liked every beer I tried. My favorites were the Penny Weiz and the Leafy Penny! The inside/outside seating area is so cozy and filled with a bunch of heaters for the chilly weather. What a cool vibe. Staff was awesome as well. And the best part? They're dog friendly!!! They also have a great lineup for food trucks. We'll definitely be back!“

Thomas Hooker Brewery Brewery • $
16 Tobey Rd, Bloomfield - 3.62 miles

“Always a beer (or two or three) that I like at either the Hartford or the Bloomfield location. The different specials aren't easy to locate on social media - this brewery doesn't seem to participate on yelp either The bartender last weekend was so friendly and pointed out a great case special to us before we were leaving that we ended up purchasing. Not sure if they do case specials in the Hartford location - have only ever send them in Bloomfield and that makes sense based on the size of the location. If you bring your own growler, their prices are pretty good for a 64 oz refill.“

Five Churches Brewing Brewery • $$
193 Arch St, New Britain - 7.15 miles

“This is a nice place to spend your time. Beer variety is great: you can find IPAs, Kellerbier, Ales and a stout. All the beers I tried very decent, although I can specifically recommend their Imperial Stout - Mashacre - which tastes exactly like your morning cup of coffee (but boozy). IPAs are juicy and extremely smooth. Weerder series was juicy and full of berry flavor as well. The kitchen is fine, we bought Buffalo Chicken pizza and Garlic Parm pretzel and enjoyed them. The place is located on the second floor, but they have an elevator available. It has one big room with a separate outdoor patio for warmer months.Overall, I liked this brewery. I had their beers in bars many times, and their taproom did not disappoint.“

Back East Brewing Company Brewery • $
1296 Blue Hills Ave, Bloomfield - 6.7 miles

“Awesome brewery and beer. Backeast is also very creative with new beers and trying different ways to mix them. I personally like to see new things to try when I go to the brewery but still have those favorite staple beers they make. 5 stars“

Coles Road Brewing Brewery • $$
817 Farmington Ave, Berlin - 8.89 miles

“Their beers are excellent. They have a six oz option so we tried several and liked all of them. They have staff that serve you at your table so you don't need to go to the bar. Everyone we spoke with there was friendly and knowledgeable about their beer. It is near the train station but you can only see the bottom of the trains from inside the brewery. They close at 8 pm, I hope they consider extending their hours.“

Hops on the Hill Farm Brewery Brewery • $$
275 Dug Rd, South Glastonbury - 9.66 miles

“I can't believe, as a Glastonbury native, it took me until late this summer to get here. Now it's on my "regular destination" list thanks to the beautiful setting, the atmosphere with live music and food trucks, and the excellent selection of quality beers. What a great "hang" place. And if you're a bicyclist like me, a perfect spot for ending your ride.“

Still Hill Brewery and Tap Room Brewery • $
Shunpike Business Center, 1275 Cromwell Ave Building C Unit 9, Rocky Hill - 9.39 miles

“Still Hill Brewery is located amongst some industrial offices. It looks unassuming from the outside, just like the rest of the business in the area. But inside you'll be greeted with the most pleasant bartender and a nice variety of beers. Still Hill is a smaller brewery. It's got a variety of seating available inside as well as a few outside. When I went there was a band playing some 60s music. They were very good! Some people were dancing. I had the Fruitatious Sourpuss Blood Orange Pomegranate. This was refreshing and tart, a good sour. My friend had the HoneyCrisp cider, this one is very light and crisp, I didn't try this one, but the name and very light nature of this one, seem like that's the perfect name for it.They have a variety of games to play, we played Uno cards while the band played and we drank our beers. They don't offer any food at Still Hill, but you are welcome to bring your own.“

During our event our bartender Bianca was great and every one was so helpful. I highly recommend working with them for events and the food is fantastic. Highly recommend and will come back in the future for any event needs. Thank you again to all the staff.“

Urban Lodge Brewing - Pratt Street Brewery •
88 Pratt St, Hartford - 3.49 miles

“Loud, happening brewery in downtown Hartford. Came late afternoon Saturday during March Madness and it was packed. Seating is first come, first served. Luckily a couple was leaving the bar area and we got to sit there. Beers were too bad and food was tasty. We enjoyed onion rings and fries, Philly steak sandwich, Buffalo chicken empanadas and a special sandwich on the menu. Beer and food is paid separately unless you're at the bar. We had a gift card giving us issues and luckily a bartender took care of it for us. Will check this place out again before a Yard Goats game this summer...“
