I will never order any pies from this establishment. I ordered two pies, a chocolate cream pie and a lemon meringue pie which I paid almost $25 and $30 respectively. Both pies were made with a no-bake crust. I understand that there are a variety of ways that pies can be made but when I’m paying these prices, I expect a baked crust.
Too expensive....They need to clean the place up too extremely dirty. The staff I see put their fingers in their mouth and then they're touching the pastries and donuts while serving a customer.
Extremely disappointed by my experience here. I ordered a cake a week before I needed it and paid for the cake. When I went to go pick it up the staff here looked confused and looked all over for 15 minutes. Come to find out they never made my cake that I paid $60 for. They claimed the paper was thrown away. Thankfully I saved my receipt and they said they refunded me but they did nothing to assist me with my issue of having no cake for my event that was in two hours. Thankfully...read full review

**Elmwood Pastry Shop** is a gem and a true neighborhood landmark in the Elmwood section of West Hartford. This classic bakery has been there for longer than 68 years. Customers are lucky to have it in town for classic cakes with buttercream frosting, beautiful pastries, and bread. It is also a great place to grab a sandwich, like the chicken salad which is huge and comes with a pickle and chips. The pastry chef beautifully designs cakes and pastries that are to die for. There is good coffee for conversations. The selection is impressive, from classic pastries to seasonal specialties. However, the pastry shop was sold recently. On a few occasions the donuts were stale. Despite the drop in quality, the price increased significantly. A dozen donuts went from $12 to $18, doubling the cost of half a dozen. Everything is now far too sweet and over glazed.
