What they’ve done with the Eagle, by moving upstairs is an awesome addition to the DC nightlife. I’m looking forward to both designated great nights, as well as happy hours with the uncovered indoor patio area. For a DC bar, they definitely surprised me. It was awesome to see a place to go mid week that actually felt like an Eagle!
Nice, clean, went early and that was my mistake. It doesn’t get busy until later. One commenter said it’s just “bunker overflow” and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I enjoyed my time here.
A fantastic bar. The only issue I have is a can of lite beer is $9, which is a bit of a rip-off, but otherwise fantastic.

The upstairs area serves as more of a bar space, while the bottom floor is more of a play area, including a sling in the elevator for those who want to avoid the congestion of the dark room. The top floor is more of your bar area with bars on both levels, both serving drinks and creating a social environment.
However, the venue has some drawbacks. The door staff can be unhelpful and unfriendly, and signage is lacking, which can cause confusion. Drink prices are high, with $17 for a whiskey and coke, and only cans are available, with no recycling. The upstairs is not always open, and the building's narrow layout can cause congestion, especially during busy nights like pride. Safety concerns include the use of one door for entry and exit, and some safety issues such as hot water for washing hands. Despite these issues, District Eagle remains a popular spot for those seeking a wild night, especially for kink and leather events, with a welcoming atmosphere for open-minded guests.
