“Miguel, Miguel, & Rhys were beyond sweet and accommodating. I came to the bar by myself but I felt like I was with friends. Not once did I feel like I was alone. My drink was non stop filled and always offered food or other drinks. They made me feel safe as I was leaving as well as I’m visiting by myself.

“Trade is one of the only top three gay bars in my list that makes the cut for not only a gay bar but also an inclusive space for everyone. The rest of the gay bars unfortunately, do not make the list of three but if there is improvement, could potentially earn a spot.Every time I go it’s mostly a diverse crowd. Hopefully they’re able to expand next door!The only downside I would say is some Bartenders not just here but also in other bars as well, please smile more and be more engaging with customers if the venue is not busy. I’m not going to tip you for mediocre or even adequate service - just because you made a drink that took a minute but rather, will tip you if you demonstrate who you are as a Bartender (e.g. knowing my name if I’m a regular, asking how I’m doing, etc.).“

“Friends suggested I check out Shakers while I was in town and I am so glad I did. Kevin was bartending and did a phenomenal job of welcoming the out of town peeps while also serving the regulars. If I lived here, this would be a regular spot. If you’re looking for a judgement free, top notch experience - stop in here.“

“I love ALOHO! The vibes and music were super fun and the cocktails were great. It’s refreshing to see a WLW/lesbian bar, and I can’t wait to visit again.Only minus is that the building is inaccessible, with lots of stairs. I’ve noticed the same thing about other bars/clubs in DC, just something to be aware of.“

“It was time to celebrate after covid and I made sure to hit this place up nightly when in DC. from karaoke to full on second floor dance parties there is everyone and everything here to celebrate fully. The bartenders are wonderful and we appreciate the amounts of red wine we consumed while enjoying our times here. Thank you!“

“AMAZING! best bar i went to in the DC area. it’s a little small but there’s two floors so don’t worry about that! the community here is tight-knit, strong, but WELCOMING. i felt right at home a thousand miles away from home. Ricky and Ed are the best bartenders in town and even if you show up just for happy hour, the regulars are the kindest people you’ll meet. no complaints- it’s what a gay dive bar should be.
