We went for afternoon tea on a Sunday and the tea room had a nostalgic feel to it. Servers were very attentive and prompt. Limited selection of teas but all teas we high quality. Food was great, scones were hot and fresh. The Tavern is a great experience for afternoon tea enthusiasts.
Binod was a delight. He made amazing drinks and gave us wonderful service.
This is a hidden gem. The food was wonderful, the ambiance great (feel like you are stepping back in time) and the waitstaff was outstanding.

The Tavern at The Henley Park offers a charming dining experience in a historic setting. The afternoon tea service receives mixed reviews, with the tea itself praised as "really good," although there are some issues with the food presentation and service. Recent customers have noted that the tea offerings are generous and provide substantial value, but some have mentioned that the sandwiches could be larger and more flavorful. Highlights include the scones, lemon curd, small cakes, and the Tavern salad, which features crisp greens and seasonal berries. The gnocchi with salmon remains a tasty option on the regular menu. Although there are occasional service hiccups, the overall ambiance, complete with parquet wood floors and service attendants in tuxedo bow ties, makes The Tavern a worthy alternative dining destination in Washington, D.C.
