Restaurantji's Greenville guide: Where to find the ultimate Mexican flavors.
“Oh dear. I wish I had waited longer after eating from here to read some of the reviews lmao. We ordered from here for delivery last night so had no interaction with the waitstaff which sounds like is the problem in many of the poor reviews of this place. The food came within a standard period of time. We ordered the queso to start and I love the option to customize it with optional add ins. I've never seen that before and I order queso frequently, you can trust my queso qualifications. You also have the choice between 2 sizes, one very small you practically need a microscope to see it and another that is 16 oz and can probably be swum in. The latter is $20 which seems a little bit extravagant for an appetizer, unless you are ordering for a crowd. Needless to say, I took the smaller option. Regarding the flavor, it was tasty, I just wish there was more of it. I took advantage of the add in options and selected jalapenos which were a really nice spicy contrast to the queso. For my main, I ordered the "trio vegetarianas" with a cheese enchilada, bean burrito, and chalupa. As a picky bitch I am LIVING for their customization options. I usually have to put up with onions and mushrooms in my mexican vegetarian dishes but they, on the ordering screen, give you the option of of omitting both of these things, among other things. I don't know if any of the things i ordered would have had either and if not, I can't say whether they would actually accommodate my requests but even the thought of adding something like that is awesome. I will also say I very much enjoyed this dish. I would have appreciated a side of rice or beans or something, neither of which were present. I have to add though that the food was luke warm AT BEST and I'm being generous. The cheese was completely solid. I can't completely blame this on the restaurant though, our delivery person had to drop something else off first but I'm thrilled to reflect on how long our food was just sitting around before it made its way to us. GF ordered spinach quesadillas. She says, "it could be better, it wasn't quite as crispy as I like". Wow! She must be in a good mood providing much more detail than her usual "it was good". I've been on a real sugar kick lately and tried to anticipate my desire for dessert by ordering the churros. They have a bunch of other dessert options if that doesn't tickle your fancy. The churros were pretty good, a little raw on the inside which now, after reading some of the reviews, is making me nervous. Keep your fingers crossed for me.“
“Absolute best authentic tacos I’ve ever had. I go here once a week for our weekly out to dinner meal. The service is always fast and the food is fresh and delicious. Like nothing I’ve had around here before. The chips and salsa matter to me and these do not disappoint! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Check them out if you want to find your new favorite taco spot.“
“Wow! What a pleasant surprise this place is. Get the Burria Tacos they are delicious! Delightful shredded beef tacos where the shell is cooked in the broth. To top it off they give you a cup of Ajou to dip them in and oh my God it is amazing! This restaurant has menu items unlike any other place around and they are all great. The one area they need to improve on is wiping down tables after diners leave. Every time we go to sit down the table is dirty from previous diners. The counter employees are doing nothing and often on their phones yet the tables are unclean. I don't appreciate eating food on a dirty table.“
“If you're craving tacos it's one of the best spots to stop in the area!Fresh blue corn tortillas and a variety of meat options, with traditional topings ♡ ? The service is always excellent and they have a picnic table available outside that seats 6 adults comfortably. Its a walk-up window and most people get their food to-go.I recommend their beef tacos with cilantro and onion and pair it with a pineapple Jarritos soda ?Parking: It's in a shopping center near many other businesses so there is plenty of free parking in the lots“
“It’s a unique establishment with a lot of variety on the menu, and, no matter which creation you try, the taste is Epic!! The owner takes pride in running the business and the food you get here cannot be matched by some chain restaurant. I love it so much.“
“Food is so good! I normally go to a different Mexican spot in town but decided to try this one and it was so worth it. The girl who took my order was so sweet and the food came out quick. Their nachos are so good with so much toppings . I would definitely order “
“Have visited this place more than once and enjoyed each visit. The owner and people working there are very kind and the food is made fresh to order. Our staples are:Chips and pico de gallo - hot crispy fresh made chips with the most flavorful pico de galloEnchiladas platter - always delicious with bright and deep flavors that have a great kick in terms of heat and the rice and beans are very flavorfulTacos - our favorite is the fried pork but we love all the meat optionsNext time promise to add pictures since we devoured it so quickly we missed the opportunity“
“As someone who lives in Delaware there isn’t a lot of good Mexican food and honestly haven’t found any restaurant that I actually like. But when I came here to La Parrillada that’s when I finally found good Mexican food as close to perfection. I order a torta de milanesa that was really good and filling. Usually when I order tortas there would always be a con like it being to messy or not enough toppings or flavor even, making me pick out things from my food. But this torta was perfect it was flavorful and also had something that was a little different being the fried cheese that really gave it a nice flavor. I also got churros that had filing as a dessert and there were warm and delicious.“
“The food is great. I have been here twice. I've seen this place many times when visiting Concord Mall but I assumed it was commercial Mexican food. I was sadly and regrettably mistaken. I've been to many Mexican restaurants in NCC and this place ranks in my top 5. I went during the day so maybe that's why the wait staff wasn't on top of our refills but I just asked her for 2 glasses at once which sort of solved my dilemma. Overall I definitely recommend this place if you're craving authentic flavors. See you all soon.“
“Authentic tasty mexican food. At a good price. Try the torta de milanesa (thin sliced breaded chicken) with everything. Which comes with Oaxaca cheese and sliced avocado. Its the best!!! My daughter had a pozole plate which she enjoyed a lot.“
“The burritos at this place are absolutely phenomenal! I can't get enough of them. The real standout, though, is the cook named Lev. His attention to detail and the way he crafts each burrito with care and precision is truly something to behold. Every bite is a burst of delicious flavors that are expertly combined thanks to Lev's incredible talent. I find myself coming back just to see what new creations Lev has in store. His skills truly elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. I can't recommend this place enough, and I owe it all to Lev's fantastic work!"“
“First thing I wanna say the atmosphere is beautiful, and the waitress was amazing! ? OK so now let’s get to the food. The food was so good not to mention this is the first place I’ve seen that had hard tacos, meaning shell tacos it’s very hard to find a place that has hard shell tacos, so good so good, so good I will be back.“
“This place has exceptional Mexican food! Make sure to get the pambazo, the sopes, and the lamb consommé! The fries leave something to be desired so I recommend the rice beans or churro as a side! The tacos are also delicious and we dip everything in the consume. I am drooling typing this! The flan and the horchata are also delicious! If you order in person you can get all different meats for the sope and taco meals (each come with 3) if you haven't been here you are missing out!“
“After much fanfare and hoopla, I decided to give this Mexican joint a visit. I ordered the chorizo tacos and they were delish except for the price tag of $14 for three tacos. The food was fresh and the layout did remind me of a Chipotle restaurant. One of the employees served me green salsa in lieu of the habernero salsa and I was upset that the employee didn't know the difference. As with most Mexican restaurants in the area, no complimentary chips/salsa or beans & rice. They did let me try the carne asada and I would like to give it a try on my next visit. I am not going to rush my return to this joint but will try in the next 30 days.“
“Mexican Table has always been my go to for local Mexican Food. I love the shredded beef chimichanga!! I normally order Togo but just saw they updated some of their decor and their booths. I can't wait to come and eat dinner in the restaurant!“
“The best Mexican restaurant in the area..The staff is amazing and food is always piping hot. Their menu is so simple and it’s very easy to order over the phone. The food always gets ready in 15-20 mins. It’s been my go to spot from last 1 year for a quick bite.Their chicken burrito is so damn good.“
“Candace and Taste of Puebla catered our after wedding guest picnic in KSQ. The out of town guests raved about the great food and how it was the best Mexican they’d had. Candace was very accommodating and great to work with. Highly recommend for a great meal at a reasonable price!“
“Tex Mex Burrito on Philadelphia Pike is by far our favorite eatery in the area. My family has been coming here for years. Every time we come in we are taken great care of. Last night we had my son's 2nd birthday party here and they went above and beyond for us. Will always recommend! Thank you to Fatima (GM) and her staff.“
“We went to this Restaurant Mobil and although it was a rainy day it would have been much better to be able to eat at the tables they have right there but since it was a Sunday they needed several weekend dishes and fresh water, there was only the basics and certain meats , tacos, cakes, etc.One of the managers explained to us the variety of new dishes they handled and gave samples, but we were looking for something more so it would be good if they applied the famous saying that it is better to have more and not what is missing but in general the food tastes good, the tortillas They are handmade and the sauces are for true spicy lovers.“
“Very chill atmosphere. The service by the time we sat til we left was superb. The margaritas were good! I ate all my food cause it was that good. I would definitely recommend. Not sure why we waited so long to try this place. Dylan ( hope I spelled it right) was great! Great recommendations and kept checking on us. Will be back and might actually ask for him next time cause he was awesome. Hard to find good service at restaurants and he didn't let us down.“
“Yesterday was my birthday and I decided to go to La Michoacana grill with all my family around 20 people to enjoy Mexican Food.It was the best decision I made because they had enough space to accommodate all of us and the service was exceptional. They have a good variety of Mexican food for all tastes.Food was served on time and the staff was amazing. If you are looking where to eat and enjoy good food that’s place for you to go.Vegetarian options: Bowl salad“
“First time here, but I’ll definitely be back again. Everything was delicious and the tortillas are handmade; you can tell as soon as you take your first bite. The aguas frescas were yummy, and my husband really enjoyed the horchata! Staff were also very nice. It’s a small family biz and they seem to be figuring things out so I agree with a different review where it’s best to have some patience/understanding with them. Hopefully they’re able to get more business. ?“
“A truly intoxicating experience. Never have I felt more love and appreciation from such a viable and respectful establishment. From the moment I witnessed those women curate those burritos, I knew that my mere existence would forever be changed. For once in my life I was a fresh and toasty tortilla that subsequently would be filled with compassion in the form of a cheesy bean & chicken medley. I won’t stop until this place is granted a Michelin Star ⭐️ take a 3rd mortgage out on your home and use the proceeds to this place. Trust my words.“
“Hands down the best AUTHENTIC Mexican I’ve ever had. Value and quality is unmatched. Everything has so much flavor and is delicious. The fresh made tortillas make a world of difference. Victor, our server was so hospitable and very sweet. We cannot wait to come back and to bring all of our friends. Delaware’s best Mexican is a hidden gem.“
“Wonderful restaurant with great drinks and food. The combo fajita was outstanding, and the margarita flight was delicious as well. Highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: They have high-chairs and a kids menu, which is always nice when eating with a child.“
“Food was good, went with 2 coworkers for lunch. Atmosphere... Very small place, very LOUD music, we couldn't hear each other. It has a small bar area inside the tiny dining area. I would go again for the food, but the loud music is definitely a deterrent for me on my lunch hour.“
“I rarely eat Spanish food - but I had a craving & I've been wanting to try Barria for a long time. (Sorry if mispelled) this was the BEST Spanish food I ever had. Lol. Idk what those green sauces were but they were SO good ! I loved every single bite ! The serving sizes was enough for me to eat lunch & save some for dinner.“
“We ordered food for 60 people via the Slice Life app from Taco House & Pizza for a work party and it was a huge hit. We had options for everyone and the flavor and quality of the food was great. The service is excellent - even accommodated a slightly earlier than planned delivery (and arrived RIGHT on time!) and added in a few extras with the big order. It's become a favorite of mine and several colleagues' since they opened up last year. Definitely try their Quesabirrias! You won't regret it.“
“Great date night! My wife and I were looking for a great date night but we found a new regular spot. The service was great..our server helped in deciding between two menu items. Boy was he right! The street tacos were delicious. Food came out in the timely manner. We got a new menu item for an app - the street corn. VERY good! The atmosphere was relaxed. Big booths made it feel private and was good for hearing conversation at the table. It was clean and it was busy without being over crowded. Prices were fair and the drinks were strong. Over all great experience. Great food. We will be back.Parking: Very large parking lot apart of a shopping center.Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy to get in and out with a wheelchair. There is an area to pull right up to the door.“
“Best quesadilla I've ever had. The salsas were amazing hands down a must go to spot. The AL pastor quesadilla was filled with flavor. That were not stingy with the meat either which is find to happen alot at other places. 16$ does seem a Lil steep for a quesadilla but it's definitely worth “
“I was so impressed with Cactus Cantina. The best Tex Mex food that I have ever had. Ordered the steak burrito which seemed assembled based on my taste: smothered in a delicious and slightly spicy green sauce, delicious refried beans and rice on the side, and a dollop of sour cream. The portion was tremendous and the price was a steal. Efficient service, clean, and nice ambiance. My strongest recommendation.“
“El Toro is a classic-looking Mexican restaurant inside, with colorful furnishings and cheerful decor that looks like it was transported straight from Mexico. The dining room wasn’t busy, but they were doing a lot of take out orders. We ordered off of the lunch menu, which had very reasonable prices. We expected smaller portions as a result, but they were generous servings. I had the chicken flautas and my husband got the steak fajitas. They were both excellent. Even the rice was great! Really delicious food and friendly service. Highly recommended!“
“These guys are amazing so pleasant and polite. The food omg absolutely delicious I go like weekend and it hasn't failed me yet.Parking: Honestly the parking is very limited especially because they have two others business using the same spaceWheelchair accessibility: They have no way to accommodate wheelchairs“
“The food is great the host is amazing I think her name was Fiorella the last couple times I've gone I haven't seen her around you guys need more employees like her she's polite and every welcoming 5 stars to her hope to see you guys“
“Bien bien bueno!! Las quesabirrias, los chiles rellenos! Y mi hijo comió los tacos de chorizo y carnitas. Bien bien bueno! Palomas y skinny margaritas! Enjoy! Por que nosotros si lo disfrutamos! Siéntanse afuera! Muy lindo patio! Nos tocó la Claudia y fue muy buena mesera! Nice Dinner!“
“Went there for lunch and it was our first time visiting. Service was great, food was a little slow but worth the wait. The free chips they give you are a little thicker than most places and topped with refries beans and a white cheese sauce. My wife and I both ordered the Burrito Del Mar and they were large and stuffed with fish, shrimp, scallops, onions and peppers and smothered in a white cheese sauce. The burrito also can with a second full plate of rice, refried beans and salad. I could barely finish mine and my wife took half of hers home for dinner later. Great first experience and look forward to going back to try their tacos.“
“Outstanding slow cooked pork taco. Very friendly service. Inexpensive. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often. Hot sauce is great. Tried the one labeled hot - and it was. Did not try the fire. The Red Sombrero is head and shoulders above any fast food taco place, and better than many more expensive restaurants. Go there and enjoy.“
“Coming from California, my standards for authentic Mexican are high. This place is authentic, and had me ordering twice. The tamales and tacos are great! I’m normally a fan of green tamales, but the red was great! I will be back. You order your food from a food truck, and have the ability to take your food inside to sit down and eat.“
“Been coming to this place ever since they first opened in pennsville. The service has always been great and the food has been amazing. Prior to the time that they’ve been opened. They have been adding more food onto their menu like, “Elotes and Esquites”. Both are corn mixed with mayonnaise, Mexican cheese and tajin which I love. Anywho, this place is worth going to try in case anyone who isn’t familiar with the area.“
“This was my first time trying birria tacos and I just gotta say, they were fantastic. Tender beef covered in cheese and dipped in some of the most flavorful sauce I've had. So many different flavors at once. Good stuff man I will be back.“
“The food was top notch, a little pricey compared to other places we've ventured to, but not breaking the bank. The bartender was our server, so he was overwhelmed with too many customers, it happens, I've worked in the bar industry that sold food and when your server/servers call in "sick" or "late", u gotta keep on keeping on. So I don't fault him. Will definitely come back, the salsa & chips were YUMMMMMMM! (I'm kind of a salsa snob)“
“Don't underestimate the place just by looking at the building! This is a small mom-and-pop shop that makes amazing food! My coworker highly recommended this place and I did not regret driving 30min to eat lunch here. The pizza was very generous with cheese, the pasta had its unique taste and I LOVED the flavor. Cheesesteak was surprisingly good. I would love to support this place! I can't wait to try their other menus.“
“Best Mexican authentic food around Delaware. Best tacos and fresh Mexican waters. The have weekend specials daily you know this place is banging when you walk in and every single seat is taken. Services are fast and people here are very respectable. I recommend to everyone when they ask where to go for tacos or Mexican food. Prices are so reasonable. I have a family of 4 we typically will spend from 30-40$ when we go. so worth it“
“The best burritos ever! Anytime we’re ever passing through the area, stopping here is a must. If we’re within an hour or 2 of our trip route, we know we’re stopping in for amazing food and service at a fair price! We live in northern NJ, so this means anytime we’re heading to VA, or DC or anywhere near Baltimore or Philly, we’re getting some delicious burritos! ? highly recommended“
“I’m not sure how they do it but the service is just as good as the authentic food they serve and the margaritas they keep pouring. We’ve been regulars here for years and will never go anywhere else for Mexican. We love sitting outside during the summer but the inside is equally as gorgeous.“
“We buy meat to cook tacos sometimes. It's not too expensive and if you know how to cook enough, the meats are delicious. If you prefer to eat without cooking, the food is great too! The tacos were a little dry, but against that very good! The checkout process was a bit confusing too.“
“The food is top notch, very authentic. The service is friendly and fast. Very relaxed and homey atmosphere that is hard to fake. Portions are generous and the prices are beyond reasonable. Eat in or order out, you can't go wrong. Easily one of the best in the area. This time I ordered the chimichanga and I did not regret it. Try the ceviche with shrimp! I also love their horchata. Oh.. And beware the lovely garnish serrano pepper if you can't handle spice. “
“Great local resturant. Tortas are authentic and the salsa verde is very good. Try the chorizo torta or the asada tacos with everything on it. Will be back.Parking: Inside the Mexican Grocery. Walk towards the back. Order and take a seat in to colorful booths.“
“The place looks a bit outdated, but the food is very delicious. The attention of the staff was very nice and attentive. Let me tell you what I tried atole (an oatmeal drink) with chocolate, delicious. Don Raúl was very helpful, a very good person. The place looks a bit outdated, but the food is very delicious. “Late, weekday lunch for two, after spending morning at local tourist attraction. No dessert or alcohol. Service staff were friendly and helpful. We both had menu Jambalaya; it was very good! Coffee (both with and without) was quickly available and very tasty.Parking was available, but very tight and few spots available.I would definitely return if we are in area again to go to the same attraction.“
