“The Back Burner has a gem in Patty. The food is always dependable, and the wine list is surprisingly reasonable for some good quality wines. I think all of these things contribute to the restaurant's staying power in Hockessin.“

“I went with my group on a Thursday which was a very light evening which allowed my group to enjoy our whole dining experience. Our server had time to explain the menu and make recommendation to our group that included a 4 year old. Why is this relevant? Because, she gave her the same respectful service as she did the adults. Thank you. Now let's get to the food. I had the Chicken Picatta. I had to take the picture because at the first bite I new it was about to be destroyed. I left nothing on the plate. The Impossible Sloppy for those who need a vegan option also got a thumbs up. The food comes out hot hot! No one complained! I will be back the next time I am in Delaware.“

“We were visiting from out of state and we were getting ready to leave to go back home but the husband wanted to find some blue tip crab to take with us.so we were told about Gadaleto's so we stopped by there and the web site said they opened at 9:30 but they weren't open yet we did wait and it was definitely worth the wait. The owner was real nice as well as the young man working with him.
They steamed the crabs for us it took about 25 minutes they had 2 different sizes to choose from and they were at a reasonable price,my husband absolutely loved them.
We would definitely recommend them...I know we will be visiting them the next time we are in pennsylvania.“

“I feel like the food isn't quite as tasty as it used to be at least for takeout - my old favorites were the beef or shrimp panang and red curries, and the rangoons are still great but I think you get less now. My friends loved the pineapple fried rice and yellow curry (pineapple)! Good portions and reasonable prices otherwise.“

“Are at the North East location for the second time tonight. We had great service at the bar from Maria. The food was delicious. Guacamole was so fresh tasting and we loved the tamales, enchiladas, and tacos. The margaritas were amazing, we enjoyed looking up all the tequilas offered and look forward to trying more of them next time! Thank you Casa Mezcal for a great date night. We are so happy you are in North East!!“

“My friend swears by Franks. She says their prepared Extra Jumbo Crabs are worth the Drive from New Jersey, however, the only thing I could afford were the busted up live Crabs “special” as their prices must reflect actual demand.“

“We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.“

“Walking into this Trolley Square gem feels like a warm embrace! From the moment we stepped inside, the welcoming presence of Jacquline, our host, guided us to a comfortable table tucked away in the back. Her genuine friendliness set the perfect tone. Shortly after, the delightful Katie became our server, her pleasant demeanor immediately putting us at ease and smoothly starting our culinary journey. The menu boasted a tempting array of options, and we eagerly chose the kale Caesar, cornbread, and brisket mac and cheese to begin. Oh my goodness – each starter was an absolute revelation! For our main courses, my wife savored the delicate lamb gnocchi, while I thoroughly enjoyed the perfectly cooked salmon. Neither dish disappointed; they were both executed flawlessly. A thoughtful touch was Katie finding me a delicious non-alcoholic beer, a real treat since I don't drink. To conclude our exceptional meal, we shared a lemon pound cake that was simply divine. Without a doubt, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this wonderful spot in Trolley Square. Everything, from the ambiance to the exquisite food and the extraordinary service, was truly on point.“
“I have been ordering from them since they cooked out of a church on Concord Pike. Tonite was/is my 43rd anniversary. it was so cute that they wrote Happy Anniversary on the top crab and on the box. it's a very caring crew.“

“We had the pig intestine stir fried dry pot, it was authentic and delicious. But the BBQ was a bit misleading. As you can see that the skewers were cooked in the kitchen and brought out and put on the heated box. Those lamb, beef and chicken skewers were delicious.“

“Oishii never disappoints! From the sushi rolls to the hibachi, everything is so flavorful and always hits the spot. The price is also extremely cheap compared to any other place on Main Street. For any K-pop fans, they have started playing bands like boynextdoor, txt, enhypen, etc. inside. Overall, this place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend coming here!“

“Bought 3 of the crab cakes yesterday. Not only were they so delicious, it will be my go to when wanting to purchase again. The staff (owner) are so kind & friendly & also offered tips if we were not wanting to have them that evening. They are also made with Panco Bread Crumbs so they are not the typical heavy filing in the crab cakes. Very full of meat & sooo delicious. I give them 10 star rating!!!!“

“I wrote a review of Hilltop Crab House a few years ago, and after another visit, I can confidently say nothing has changed—they are still the gold standard for steamed crabs in the area.
I grew up on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, where good crabs are serious business. I’ve picked crabs my entire life, and one thing separates truly fresh, properly cooked crabs from average ones: how the meat comes out of the shell.
The crabs at Hilltop were fresh, hot, and cooked perfectly. You can tell immediately when cracking open the claws. Using my usual method, the meat slid right out cleanly and intact. It didn’t stick to the shell or come out in shredded pieces like you often see at other crab houses. That’s a sign of fresh crabs that have been handled and cooked the right way.
The seasoning was excellent, the crabs were heavy, and every one was packed with sweet, flavorful meat. They came out steaming hot, exactly the way they should.
In fact, they were so good that by the time I thought about taking a picture, the first round had already been completely devoured. I ended up ordering a couple more because I wasn’t ready to stop eating them.
Great food, great service, and consistently high quality. There are plenty of places that serve crabs, but very few that do it this well every single time. If you’re looking for authentic Maryland crabs that are fresh, hot, and worth every penny, Hilltop Crab House remains the only crab house I’ll go to in the area.
Highly recommended. 🦀🦀🦀“
