“Despite living just 20 minutes from the brewery and being an avid beer lover, for whatever reason my husband and I hadn’t been to twisted irons. We decided to make a visit and then were kicking ourselves for not coming sooner! Often if you’re not a “regular” at these breweries you’re ignored, not here. The staff were amazing! They made us feel welcome, and made beer suggestions based on our style of beer choices. The beers were delicious and the vibes were vibin’. We left raving… until we noticed our card was charged for substantially more than we authorized. BUT! Literally within minutes of me contacting the bar, they sincerely apologized for the fat finger and refunded the money. I debated adding that little negative thing, but it’s important for others to know that despite making a mistake, how quickly they rectified it while also being so kind. I 10/10 recommend this brewery and cannot wait to return! Cheers!“

“Enjoyed my birthday tonight with family and friends. Grew up in Newark and have never eaten here. It did not disappoint. Love the history and the ambience. Our waitress, Piper was phenomenal, .... friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. The food was perfectly portioned and all tasted great. The soft pretzel was wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts was excellent and the short ribs were tender and flavorful. The apple cider mule was a perfect drink to top it all off.“

“Nice neighborhood pizza joint. Definitely changed hands in the last few years (no updates to the interior, 90s throwback vibe). Pizza was hot and the crust was tasty. It’s a chill, seat yourself kinda place otherwise take out or delivery works too.

Parking is conveniently located right outside the door—a rare and much-appreciated feature in Newark, DE. The food is authentically Italian, beautifully prepared, and consistently delicious. What truly stands out—aside from the attentive (yet never intrusive) service—is the care that owner took into designing the dining space. Even though tables are only a few feet apart, there's an unexpected sense of intimacy and privacy that allows for meaningful conversation without concern of being overheard. It's a perfect setting for enjoying a relaxed meal with friends or loved ones. Dining here always feels like a family meal, elevated by expert preparation—and best of all, someone else handles the cleanup! One of our traditions is taking desserts to go and enjoying them at home with a cup of coffee. “Pretty standard pub food but well-executed. We came for their appetizers, which are especially good. The french onion soup was delicious. We also enjoyed the apple salad. We didn't order alcohol (it was like 2:30 PM , and we're not big drinkers).

Our meal ended up being a bit more expensive because we ordered four apps and split one entree, but it was a tasty and relaxing late lunch.

Service was great. The wait staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. We had a ton of little plates on the table to shuffle. They helped us manage it, bussed dishes quickly to make more space for us as we finished them, and were quick with drink refills.“
