“Great vegan/veggie joint. Pretty high prices but the food is all made in house and tastes great. This area is expensive for businesses to operate so it makes sense. Fresh produce is key to their flavor. Pretty decent service, although you can definitely feel it when they're busy--the staff tries their best and have great attitudes. Highly recommended local business. The ambiance is pretty neat but not too remarkable, a bit of modern and a bit hippie all at once. Larger parties any struggle to find seating unless they give a notice prior to the day they want to be served.“

“Beautiful spot with comfy chairs and a varied and delicious menu. My date had the Dubai Crepe and I had a walnut baklava and a pistachio borma. The music was pleasant if unfamilliar but aided in the atmosphere being relaxing and making conversation easy. There was a nice little selection of games (checkers, tic tac toe. Dominoes, etc). We can't wait to try everything on the menu!“

“This is the central campus location for UDairy Creamery, and I LOVE that I can also get food here. My favorite is the breakfast toast with hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, basil and olive oil. It's seriously AMAZING! I'm not sure what kind of bread they are using, but it's phenominal.

There is a lot of space to eat or study, and, of course, it's attached to Barnes and Noble, so that's a major plus.“

“Enjoyed my birthday tonight with family and friends. Grew up in Newark and have never eaten here. It did not disappoint. Love the history and the ambience. Our waitress, Piper was phenomenal, .... friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. The food was perfectly portioned and all tasted great. The soft pretzel was wonderful. The Brussel Sprouts was excellent and the short ribs were tender and flavorful. The apple cider mule was a perfect drink to top it all off.“

I’ve never had that at a Chinese food place and it was above and beyond. It tasted delicious and the workers were all friendly. “Tony's is a local Italian restaurant in Newark along Chestnut Hill Road (DE 4) in a shopping plaza anchored by the local Shoprite. The dining area is basic, mostly what you'd expect from a local restaurant. However, the decor could use a little bit of an update and then it'd be just right.
The menu features what you'd expect from an Italian restaurant in the orbit of Philadelphia - pizzas, pastas, strombolis, etc. and have a great variety of different pizzas. For my meal, I went with a vegetarian pizza (spinach, tomato and ricotta cheese) and an order of garlic bread. The pizza itself was pretty tasty and the ricotta made a good contrast to the mozzarella on the pie itself and the vegetables were generally nice and fresh. The crust was also pretty decent as it could hold the slice and had just enough crisp for a good thin-crust pizza. The miss for me was the garlic bread. I don't know if it was the preparation for my particular order, but my bread had some minced garlic topping the butter on the bread rather than well-dispersed in the butter. I love garlic but trying to eat those pieces of minced garlic wasn't for me as it was bitter. I would like to see them better incorporate the garlic into the bread as that might help the read out. The garlic aside, the bread was nicely baked and had the butter and garlic been better spread I would have really enjoyed it.
The service was decent as well. I didn't have to wait too long for a refill and the server made sure I was take care of at my table.
Overall, it's a nice neighborhood Italian restaurant for those local to Newark and you'll at least get an enjoyable meal if you visit here.“

“Eight family members celebrated being together during the Christmas holidays. The food was excellent. I had Parma Rosa with shrimp, crab, and lobster. Delicious. Another had gnocchi, another salmon, beef tips, etc. all excellent choices. We also enjoyed the calamari and burrata for apps and a variety of desserts. I feel like it is reasonably priced. “I normally like the vibe, but on a Friday night, you need some kind of entertainment before 9:30 pm. The place emptied last Friday and there was nothing until we were about to leave. We were leaving because it was dead. The DJ, who has filled that place before til close and had the dance floor full, did not start until 9:30. By then, the energy was zapped and not many were even paying attention. We left very disappointed. It’s understandable some nights business is going to be slow. In this case, the place was packed when we arrived at 8 pm. We expected that. We did not expect the place to clear out and the energy to drop before any entertainment had a chance to get there. Entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night starts earlier in other establishments. Most have at least a DJ by 8. You’re missing opportunities by starting something at 9:30. We felt bad for the DJ. We won’t be back unless the schedule for some kind of entertainment starts earlier. You’ve got an older crowd in there quite often. People are not going to stay until 9 or 9:30 waiting for music.“
