“To say I was pleasantly surprised walking into Gahwa Café would be a HUGE understatement. While visiting Jacksonville for a long weekend for a weekend seminar I searched for things to do and asked for recommendations. When I was directed to and excited to try a Turkish Coffee experience I sought out Gahwa Café. At first I had a group of 5-8 who set out to join me and one by one they altered their plans until I ended up going on my own.

Strategically arriving at a non peak hour Sunday late afternoon I was greeted by the owner and operator as I walked in. A brief introduction and taking perch at the bar I realized I was the only guest, I ordered a double per the owner’s recommendation and some baklava. We exchanged a few polite pleasantries and as I enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere while my coffee cooled I settled in to enjoy the space and company for all they offered.

All of this said, I came to thoroughly explore and experience the legendary delicacy of Turkish Coffee and Arabic Tastes and hospitality.

I was not disappointed.

It was an honor and absolute pleasure to meet and talk with Husham, the owner, as I experienced my first sample of his culture. I was delighted to find a kindred spirit in this dear man and our conversation carried us through the vast corners of everything that is, was, and could be as we only scratched the surface of life’s intricacies while the depth of our discussions grew. The coffee and pastries were delicacies in their own right, however I will return at next opportunity to visit a new friend.

Husham is the real deal, authentic in his being and his generous hospitality knows no bound. My only regret is that my home is so many hours away as I would absolutely carve the time to visit more regularly if possible.

He has curated a beautiful space for special occasions and small gatherings and I hope those who may truly appreciate its beauty will do so often.

I look forward to returning and bringing friends with me. I’ll be sure not to be in a hurry and look forward to making the most of this gem of a Cafe.“

“This place is a great lunch spot. Their sandwiches are always amazing. Their soups are often good but their beer-cheese has too much ham in it, in my opinion. Their selection of cakes is pretty good and my favorite has often been the Italian Lemon Cake. Also try one of their variety of European beers when here, too.“

“Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of fresh-baked bread set the tone. The food was outstanding. Everything tasted homemade and crafted with care, especially the whole grain loaf and the cinnamon chip bread. You can tell they use high quality ingredients.

The service was just as impressive. The staff was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, offering great suggestions and samples without rushing. They really made me feel like a valued guest.

“This cafe wins, hands down. Hand-made bakery items, fresh sandwiches, and the list goes on. Excellent coffee specialties! Indeed, a French Cafe! The staff are on it! They are excellent both in front and behind the operations, they all seem to work well together and rarely is there a table that is not cleaned and ready as soon as a guest departs. Delicious at all levels. They make it clear that they never use a microwave! Bravo!! We love and respect the integrity this place and rarely would we drive over an hour for any place to eat. Thankfully the inside is huge with enough tables and the front is mostly windows which lets in a great amount of light. “This was my first time visiting JJ’s Cafe. Immediately I was greeted by the friendly owner and gave him my order. He asked my name and asked me if it was my first time in. I said yes and he let me pick out a cookie (which is delicious!). While I sat and waited for my food which wasn’t long at all I noticed a group of gentleman visiting with one another. The owner was also speaking to them all. Two other guests came in to order after me and they greeted them by name and had a quick but personable conversation. The gentleman cooking knew their names too and so did the woman working as well. I got the Italian Stallion which was delicious. Overall great prices for delicious fresh food. But what made me write a review was the service and the atmosphere. I saw a sign that said “leave as friends” and it seems they certainly practice that. Thank you for my lunch and pleasant service!“

“We live on the north side so OMG is a little out of the way for us, but their honeydew flavour is the best in town!! It reminds me of the milk teas I used to get in Hawaii. The owners there are the nicest people and they take care of their regular customers. They also serve food that we have yet to try but we often see other customers waiting for orders so it must be good. If you are looking for something different you should give them a try.“

“If you donate blood, donate at Mayo at their OneBlood office and stop at the Bundy cafe! Nice little cafe to have lunch. The prices are very reasonable and the food is good. Hadn’t been here since before Covid so they changed from a self service cafe to almost full service. You have to order your food in the front, then they bring you your food and pick up your dishes when you’re finished. Also what a beautiful campus to walk around especially right now on a sunny day with the azaleas in full bloom!“

“Wow! I almost didn’t want to tell anyone else about how good their food is just so it doesn’t turn into a mad house. The small mom and pop Resturant is the best Italian we have had in FL. The Cesar salad is to die for. Everything is made from scratch! Chicken park and Alfredo is best ever. The owners are awesome too, very polite and kind like dining with family!“
