“My wife and I have frequently dined at the King Fu Chef in The Villages, and generally we have loved the ambiance, the staff, and the food, but I had been less than fascinated with their version of Mongolian Beef. Well, I kept seeing posts that praised their Mongolian Beef, so we decided to give then another try on 09/29/2025. Happy Event: Kung Fu Chef has redeemed itself! I have eaten at Kungfu Chef many times, and generally it is very good. But, the previous time I had the Mongolian Beef, I thought it was way too overcooked to the point of being burnt, but now they ARE BACK! Today the Mongolian Beef was SUPER! Great robust flavor, good aroma, plenty moist and flavorful, and a single dinner meal was larger than the two of use could eat for lunch, so happy event: We got to take 1/2 of it home for supper the next night. So happy to see they have the good chef back! By the way, don’t forget to ask for a small bowl of “chili oil”; their version of this sauce has many complex undertones without being too spicy, we eat a lot of it in Hot and Sour Soup, add it to fried rice, and in this case, to the Mongolian Beef.“

“This wonderful establishment did not disappoint! I had gotten the MooGoo Gai Pan lunch special, I opted for the wonton soup instead of the soda. So glad I did, too! Absolutely delicious! The MooGoo was FRESH and the pork fried rice was also super delicious! I also got an order of spring rolls, those were also pleasantly fresh and super delicious! Vegetables were fresh and delicious as well in all dishes.

“We have ordered from Shang Hai on multiple occasions now. Although not perfect and personal preferences will differ. We found them to be one of the better if not the best Chinese take out restaurants we’ve tried in the area.
The food portions are decent. The food is very good. The prices are decent. I cannot think of much more that I need. Shang Hai’s food so far has fit the bill for us. So I recommend trying them.
I rarely give five stars unless the subject is outstanding and above others in their field. So although I thought about it. I gave Shang Hai four stars, because they are very good. But not quite perfect to the point of head and shoulders above the rest. But you can consider it 4.5 stars. And I figure that’s quite good.“

At certain times, the place gets really busy, therefore, some mistakes are destined to happen. However, it is important on how you resolve the issue. The food here is priced fairly, tastes good, and most of the time, it is quick.

Last week, as usual, I placed an order online and drove down to pick it up. I didn't check the bag because I never had an issue with my order before. So I go home, open the bag, and discovered one of the items was missing. Before I could call and report it, the owners' kid calls me and tells me they made a mistake and it is up to me if I want a credit or stop back by and pick up the order. I applaud their gesture!

I have bought food at Chinese restaurants most of my life and never had a restaurant call me and admit they made a mistake and gave me options. I truly appreciate their customer service...Especially, in a town where most people are rude, inconsiderate, and lack basic people skills. If you drive a vehicle in Ocala, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Here's another example...Last year, I had placed an order via one of those awful delivery services (GrubHub, Doordash, etc.). The order went through fine and the driver stopped by and picked up the food. Unfortunately, the driver never delivered the food.

So, I called the delivery service and they sent another driver because they could not get in touch with the first driver either. Now, First Wok had already done their part and they did not have to do what they did next. When the 2nd driver arrived and explained the situation, they prepared everything again and handed it to the driver; no questions asked.

“I normally visit the Panda Express in Lady Lake Florida, but due to circumstance I was at the Ocala Panda Express. I was somewhat disappointed when the orange chicken was very tough and difficult to cut with the plastic knife. I have never experienced this at the Lady Lake Panda.
It's an unfortunate situation of which I have no explanation since everything is pre-packaged and manufactured in a Black ops factory of unknown origin.“
