From the salads the appetizers, the crispy Duck, the Rib Eye Steak even the Macaroni Chicken Cheese dish all were superb. “Bobby and I were doing our daily “where are we eating today?” search when we stumbled on a true gem, Southern Palate in Dunnellon. We were craving a home-cooked comfort meal and they did not disappoint. The fried chicken? Golden, crispy perfection. The mac-n-cheese? Cheesy, creamy heaven. Add rice & gravy, collards, and green beans, and we were in full-on Southern food bliss. Because one round wasn’t enough, we grabbed a to-go plate of meatloaf, rice & gravy, green beans, and yams for today’s lunch goals. They’re only open Thursday through Saturday, so plan ahead.”
