“The ambiance is much nicer than buffet places. The service over the years has been good. The food is always tasty, but whether you like it or not could depend on what you order. I ordered a lo mein that was not what I expected, and I thought the hot and sour soup was bland, but now that I rotate between the mushu (all are good but I prefer the pork) and bourbon chicken combo plate, I'm always happy! Hubby likes the orange chicken, lemon chicken and egg fuyung. Love the fried rice and egg rolls. We normally takeout, but we still get the fortune cookies. Yes, prices have gone up, but that's understandable. Chen's is worth it, and they are a cut above the other Chinese restaurants we've tried in the Cape.“

“First of all I feel that most Chinese take out is pretty much the same, but this place was better than most. For about $10 bucks I got a General Tso combo with an egg roll. A generous amount food was packed in the container. Pretty much got two meals out of it. Could have been a tad more spice on it, but I'm just being picky since it is a hot n spicy dish“

“So I ordered a combination meal of sweet and sour chicken and the fried rice was absolutely awful with no pork and rice that didn't resemble chinese rice in any way. Because of the packaging, the sweet and sour chicken ended up completely soggy before I got home because it was enclosed in plastic with no ventilation. So...I simply called them and, knowing that there was no way that the fried rice was going to be what I liked, I explained the situation and asked for a replacement for the Sweet and Sour Chicken since I felt like the only reason why that was awful in the original order was because there was no ventilation. The staff member who answered my call agreed to replace the chicken as long as I brought back my uneaten order and I did. The replacement was in a typical chinese container with airflow and it was excellent. All this to say that I wouldn't suggest ordering any combination items or the fried rice, but if you order their individual items you will be satisfied with the quality. I commend their staff for being understanding and turning a 1 star experience into a 4 star one.“

“According to our server -- and she's likely right -- SW Florida has a lot of Chinese takeouts (not restaurants) to compete with fast food joints. I told her I'm a New Yorker used to good Chinese restaurants, and I'm hoping that China Bistro is better than the few places I've found since moving to the area. She said that the owner is also from NY. My assessment: while China Bistro wouldn't make it on Mott Street, It's not bad. Aiming for accuracy, I'd give it 3.6 stars. The house special wonton soup is good, albeit overly salty. Roast pork chow mein -- a throwback to my childhood, and one of my go-to's -- met my criteria. (If you don't specify white sauce, it'll come with brown.) Rather than Mongolian beef which T likes, we changed it up with Mongolian shrimp. There could've been more shrimp, maybe sliced and better interspersed ... and where are the rice noodles this dish usually sits on?! If you live in the area and crave something more than takeout, check out Chen's. The staff is very nice, and they aim to please. BTW, for every $10 you spend, they'll stamp your diner's card. Their slogan is "the more you eat, the more we treat." Once you reach $100 in purchases, you'll get a $10 gift card to defray the cost of your next meal.“

“Solid food for a take out Chinese restaurant. I haven't really been disappointed with the food. It is by far the best Chinese food in the area. The reason I wrote this review is because I went to China One after looking at their stars. That place is horrible.“
