If you’re not a kava or kratom person, this cafe offers a coffee and tea menu that’s highly customizable. Whatever you’re looking for- something sweet, something strong, something refreshing- the kavatenders (their “bartenders”) will always know how to make it happen. Even when my drink doesn’t taste right the first time (which rarely happens), the staff is beyond happy to add or substitute anything so that it’s just what I want. A literal 2-minute drive from UCF (and right between two major UCF apartments), this is an amazing study spot. Plenty of outlets and a variety of seating, plus free WiFi (after ordering). Plenty of students, professionals, and hobbyists work here, so it’s a productive environment. If you’re looking for a more social atmosphere, they also host social events all throughout the month, from trivia and AYCD kava nights to karaoke and even nature hikes! “One of my new favorite bars in Orlando and prob my favorite place to drink in the College Park area, customer service is always great, the bartenders and the managers are very attentive and walk around the bar checking by on people. It is attached to the a big food hall, so you have plenty of choice for food. They show almost every sporting event including UFC so its great for sports fans. I only wish the bar could be bigger but they did great with the space they have!“

“This place is a blast. Eat before/after, or bring your food and chill at a Hightop. A cousin in town recently told me about a similar establishment in Columbus, OH and I wanted to check one out. She found Pups Pub with a quick google search and off we went. Entry was painless and simple. Reassurances that canine patrons are vaccinated and spayed/neutered are very clear. Happy hour is more than fair. They have games on site, a really great indoor and outdoor seating areas, lots for the pups to do and they all seem to know eachother and get along great. I came without any animals and was warmly welcomed by everyone on 2 or 4 legs. I honestly had the time of my life just playing with everyone’s dogs and could have stayed there all night.“

If you're doing some shopping, grabbing dinner or catching a movie, 480N Wine Bar is the perfect spot to grab a pre or post drink/cocktail. I visited with my husband upon their grand opening. “Saw this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try! Everything ended up being fresh, flavorful, and really well prepared. The Caesar salad was crisp with a generous amount of dressing, cheese and breadcrumbs, and the pizza was thin, light and cheesy.

As the clouds shrouded the sky, I stumbled into this saloon for shelter from the impending Burning Rain of Death. The rake behind the counter, Garret, kindly offered me a libation to which I vehemently obliged. Before the cold glass met my lips, I was frozen in my chair by the sight of a wicked woman with fiery hair the locals know to be Winnifred. We spoke wildly into the night of spooky dino chickie nuggies, Disney +, Malibu potions, and cauldron maintenance, of course. She lent me her boOooOooOok and I would love nothing more than to return it to her, as it won’t stop staring at me. If you see her, please do let her know I would love to reconnect, and would also take her up on Billy’s number if she’s indeed done with him.“

“The Other Bar is a downtown Orlando staple located on Wall Street, surrounded by a cluster of other bars. The name isn’t just clever—it’s called The Other Bar because it’s the only bar on that stretch owned by a different owner, which already gives it a bit of its own identity.

This place is very much a local favorite, and for good reason. I’m a fan of the complimentary popcorn (simple pleasures matter), and while the bathrooms might look a little scary at first glance, they’re generally clean—which honestly puts them ahead of many dive bars downtown that barely qualify as functional.

The space itself is bigger than it initially appears, almost deceiving when you first walk in. Over the years, the interior has seen steady upgrades, and it shows. The stage is well lit, and every Monday I frequent their open mic—an event that’s been running for decades and continues to be a cornerstone of the local comedy scene.

There’s also an outdoor patio and bar area, which adds a nice option when the weather cooperates. One moment that really stood out to me was Thanksgiving, when they hosted a Friendsgiving and fed all the comedians who regularly perform there. It was genuinely generous and speaks volumes about how much this place values its community.

All around, The Other Bar feels familiar in the best way—a reliable, welcoming spot that supports local talent and keeps evolving without losing its soul. It’s a place I return to often and one I’m glad still exists downtown.“

“Highly recommend for family gatherings! We just had our Baby Shower in their event space & we had an amazing time. All the staff was super friendly, very accommodating and easy to work with & book. The food and drinks were delicious and fast. Our host/waitress was so sweet and fun and great about interacting with everyone at the shower. The kids present were very happy to feed the gators, visit the parrots, and pretty much wander around in between the games. I cannot recommend their services enough and I am beyond happy we chose here for our baby shower.“
