Island Room Restaurant and Sand Bar

Unless you want burgers fries and pizza this is THE best restaurant by far in Cedar Key. Clean and simple with good seating and lighting. Friendly efficient staff. The Grouper Picatta was wonderful. Staying at Cedar Cove condominiums this weekend so it made perfect sense to eat at the onsite Island Room restaurant. Made reservations for 6:30. We arrived on time and we were seated immediately. Our server quickly came to our table, took our drink order, gave us menus and explained the dinner specials in great detail. Just had a fabulous meal at the island room! The fresh baked bread was hot and delicious. We had the specials, the gumbo was loaded with seafood a lovely dark rouge. We also had the mahi-mahi that was their special, perfectly cooked! We will be back
