“Well prepared dishes that are prepared beautifully with complex flavors. Wontons are a staple on the menu and when you try them you will understand why. Delicate and savory goodness. The other two dishes we ordered were just okay (potato dumplings and cauliflower). I’m sure some of the other items were super yummy but our stomachs could only handle a light dinner (had a super late lunch). The service was very knowledgeable and polite. Please keep in mind they do not alter their menu items so those who have dietary concerns should call ahead since they change their menu often. The ambiance was just okay. It’s located inside a Citibank building on the ground floor. Lighting could be better and perhaps an upgrade on seating and tables. Totally doable but a bit dated. All in all a lovely experience.“

“We were out for a walk in the Gables and decided to stop for sushi. We ordered 2 rolls—both were prepared decently and the fish tasted fresh. There was only one other table of guests at 12:30 but it looked like busy take out orders. Maybe that’s why the service was really lackadaisical—had to ask for drink refills, were handed a box for our remaining pieces without any service or ginger or sauce as would find in a take out order and we had the equivalent of a full roll left.“

“I booked Novikov for my honey's 45th bday dinner, with just the two of us. Our reservation was for 8:30, we arrived at 8:45 and waited 10-15 mins for our table. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant in Alain's section. Here's where the magic happened. He took such great care of us, giving recommendations and great details of the menu items we considered . To start, we requested our usual, two spicy mezcalitas. Next, we ordered the delicious hamachi, and the king crab maki - both 10/10. Then were the short rib bao buns and the undefeated Brussel Sprouts w/ crispy pork belly - so genius another 10/10. For the main we went with the wagyu ribeye and prawn fried rice - these were good, especially steak but the prawn fried rice was not a star of the night and that's okay. “Dined here with a group of 10 people. We tried quite a few things on the menu. The highlighters were the Chilean sea bass and the duck fried rice. The sea bass was buttery soft and so delicious. A must get! The duck fried rice was also very delicious and left us wanting for more. We also had the $98 wagyu which is was expecting to be a bit softer and buttery as well but it wasn't what I was expecting. It still tasted pretty good but maybe it was the cut that was used. There was a surf and turf dish that was pretty decent as well but I didn't know it was sushi. The deserts were good as well. We had the coffee cake dessert (can't remember the name) which was really good. There was a cheesecake that we had as well which was okay and perhaps slightly better than the usual cheesecake in my opinion. The drinks were fantastic. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere in the birds nest was really nice. They had fans which helped on a warmer day, but it does get a bit warm. The only downside for us were the seating . I think it's more designed for lounging and cocktails as opposed to dinner as the seats are a bit more laid back in the birds nest. I think if you're going to do traditional dinner then don't book the birds nest. If going for drinks and some bites then do birds nest. Overall great experience and will definitely be back“

“Sesame Asian is pretty far from me but I have been seeing promos so I took the leap and tried it. I arrived on Friday night and there was plenty of parking in the parking lot. I had friends who had already arrived so we met them in a booth. The con about this part - we didn't see a server for 20 minutes. We had a canteen of water on the table but no water glasses. My guest and I were pretty thirsty for these 20 minutes. We didn't see the original server my friends had seen so we just flagged someone.

Food - pretty impressive for the price. You get unlimited lobster, crab legs, raw oysters, sushi, hot food, dimsum and dessert. They did include a menu where each paying guest can choose one item out of the 4 items they had to be freshly cooked for your table. I went with the creamy udon pasta and my guest chose the lobster. We didn't like that the lobster on the buffet was a full lobster where we had to break it ourselves and that it was cold. When it's cold, the meat is a bit tougher. The oysters were delicious but they didn't have any vinaigrette to pair with. Sushi and sashimi was good. Dimsum were in heated bamboo trays and were decent. The hot food did have a few items that look interesting such as sesame chicken and bulgogi but these items looked overcooked sitting in a heater.

I would say I definitely got my money's worth with a full lobster and oysters. I also really loved the creamy udon pasta and would come back ASAP for that! I did appreciate the scissors and crackers they left next to the lobster because we needed that to break our lobster. It was a lot of work. Last, they brought dessert out to us. We received strawberry ice cream, passion fruit shaved ice, chocolate cheesecake and macarons. I don't think they necessarily go together but we split this and it was a sweet ending.“
