“This was our first time to eat here. Everything was good. The people were friendly. The food was good. My complaint for my seafood basket is I had a ton of fries (which was great) but I only received four gator bites and three frog legs (I didn't even get four legs which I think would add up for at least two frogs, right?) But the food was good and the beer was COLD!”
“Stopped in here today with only 20 minutes to spare before we had to check in for our boat tour. The waitress that served us was absolutely the best service I have encountered in 5 trips to the USA. Friendly, helpful and payed special attention to my gluten free requirements. The food was probably the best cafe/diner food we have had in the States. My entire family said it was the best food they have had from the cheeseburger to the wraps and subs or even my GF chicken salad. I can’t recommend this place enough. Amazing staff and amazing food. If you are in the area do yourself a favour and grab a burger here before your fan boat ride.”
“Always love fishing in Chokoloskee. I'm glad we tried Hole in the Wall Pizza this trip. Both pizzas we bought were really good. We will definitely be back next trip.”
“Awesome down to earth people! Tons of supplies, great beer, and frankly the best place in SW Florida! Don’t hesitate to stop in and chat, they’ll welcome you with open arms. If you chat for a bit they might let some “secrets” out on where to fish.”
“Great place to have food and drinks. A very enjoyable atmosphere. Employees go above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable. A must see..Kid-friendliness: They have a good kids menu with a lot of options.”
“Ordered snapper sand and it was the mahi. Still good but annoying. They were also out of stone crab which was crazy they didn’t have a server run over to the grocery store and get more. Overall the place is on a great spot and I totally get they had a rush so the staff were great considering!”
“So glad we picked this spot for dinner on our one night stop in to Everglades City! Don't miss it. The bar tender treated us like we were family! We ordered the shrimp basket and the fish and chips and both were some of the best seafood we've had in a while, and we have a beach house! Cooked perfectly, cocktail and tarter sauce made in house were a great complement to their food. We also split the key lime pie... we'll done. We will definitly make a stop here if we come thru this way again!”
“This place left me Awe struck. Its a step back in time. Lost craftsmanship wood working masterpiece. To maintain and keep this in the shape its in in a hurricane prone area for how old it is could only be done with dedication and love. Team work and good owners make stuff like that possible. the tediousness of restoring old wood buildings in Florida is a labor of love. I cannot describe how kool this place is if you are a waterman you'll love it. WOW. Great rum punch!”
“Bleep bloop philly steak was pretty fire ngl fr fr no cap. People were nice and my tummy was full when i got done eating the philly steaky very yummy fr fr no cap on god”
“Had a great first time experience at Joanies yesterday. Took a day-cation down the tamiami to see alligators, and im so happy we stopped in. Loved the atmosphere and the staff, and especially the food. We ordered fried green tomatoes, gator, crab cakes, and keylime pie. With every bite you could taste how fresh everything was. And i absolutely loved the keylime pie, one of the best ive had here in Florida. We will definitely be back. Wish i woulda got my waitresses name i really liked her.”
“Great place to grab some food- wife and I stopped here after a morning of airboat rides and swamp buggy tours. I had a Cuban sandwich - it was hot, fresh, and came out quickly. We'll be back next time we're in town for sure!”
“This was the best meal we had during our visit to Everglades. My wife had the whole snapper, which was gorgeous and tender. She devoured the fish, as well as the plantains and black beans. I had the pork sandwich, which comes chopped and fried with onions, and tastes like little Havana at 3 am. I also had the black bean soup with white rice which was a simple but reliable treat. My daughter got spoiled with ice cream for dinner (last day of vacation, cut us some slack) and she was happy as can be. Cpt. Morgan’s is a nice change of pace from the outdoor fried shrimp shacks scattered around Everglades, especially with the chilly A/C. The staff certainly cares and makes sure you are well taken care of. Come here if you’re in town.”
