AJ's on the Bayou Reviews
By far the worst service I’ve ever had. We could hear the kitchen staff yelling that our appetizer was ready and our lazy waitress was no where to be found. Another waitress brought it to us after I asked if our waitress left for the day. After bringing our drinks, we only saw her when she brought the check. I had to go get my own to go box. Now the food…. We use to love the food here. Pick 2 consisted of 4 shrimp and a tiny piece of fish. 🙄 Lobster roll was on TOAST. Never...read full review
If I could give 0 stars I would. Service was HORRIBLE. Had to track down our waitress to get refills and our check. There was 3 hosts who were more worried about rolling silverware than helping out. We even asked one of them for something and instead of going to get it his reply was “let me find your waitress”. One host was a younger boy and was playing hide and seek with another worker. I ordered steak and it was dry, wanted it medium well and it was way well done. Green...read full review
We were here for a wedding reception for family. They knew this was a large party of 25. We arrived before 8 and were rushed to get our orders in even though they close at 10. AJ's on the Bayou provides a mix of experiences based on recent visitors. The staff received mixed reviews, but many praise servers for being friendly, attentive, and efficient. The outdoor bar area is a highlight, featuring excellent frozen drinks like the Lava Flow and a fun, casual atmosphere with great music. Live entertainment, trivia night, and Sunday brunch are popular, with amazing views of the bayou, sometimes including dolphins. Some guests love the reasonably priced, well-prepared food, like the chicken piccata and Tuesday tacos, while others note room for improvement in consistency. The seating, particularly the old plastic wicker chairs, could use an upgrade, yet the decor remains fun and fascinating. The bar area is perfect for college football, with TVs everywhere and live music in the evenings. Overall, AJ's on the Bayou offers a pleasant dining experience with a lively vibe, making it a great choice for locals and vacationing families alike.
