Casual spot with some top notch chicken aka Bold Birds.
We moved to Jacksonville in 2024. We are originally from St. Louis and my husband and I both worked for someone who is well known in the food industry. And he specialized in hot chicken. This chicken taste like home. It is so good it’s actually really crispy, and the hot oil that they use is fantastic. Not to mention the ranch the ranch is so good. Bold Birds Lakewood Hot Chicken serves incredible, perfectly seasoned hot chicken with just the right amount of heat. The food is always top notch, high quality, tasty, and freshly-prepared, with specific praise for the hot tenders, fritters, and Mac n cheese. The Cobb salad and chicken wings & waffles are also delicious. The staff is super nice, welcoming, and friendly, providing great customer service and helpful guidance through the menu. The owner truly cares about the customers. The new Lakewood location is a bit more stripmall-esque than the original, but the excellent food and experience remain the same, making it highly recommended.
