Great food, excellent service !!
I’m not going to write a review and not be honest the food was great but that heavy set guy and the front staff horrible horrible horrible. I truly wanted to get on my platforms and live record the nasty attitude. Was in town met my girls for dinner and never again. Our server was truly amazing but that front staff and the heavy set guy owner who walks around in jean shorts and tshirt was horrible!!

Dorothy's Downtown is a wonderful and cute restaurant, an awesome space and hidden gem in Jacksonville. The vibe is great, with an ordinary space transformed into a full experience. The food is AMAZING, tasty, incredibly tender, seasoned to perfection, and full of flavor. Specific dishes praised include the short ribs, salads, boudin balls, and beignets, which are highly recommended. The chicken fried gumbo had good rice and sauce, though the fried chicken was noted as a bit bland. The restaurant is considered better for brunch than dinner.
Service is consistently excellent. The staff is attentive, professional, kind, and delivers A1 service. They are welcoming, offer thorough menu explanations, and provide great cocktail, wine, and mocktail pairings. Food is served hot within 20 minutes. This warm and friendly atmosphere makes it a must-visit, and many guests plan to return and recommend it to others.
