Not recommended. Spend your money elsewhere. Not the same Max's restaurant in the Philippines.
2026-01-01 First day of the new year, we drove 3 and a half hours to Jacksonville, Florida to eat at Max’s Restaurant, a popular Filipino restaurant known for its signature fried chicken and other traditional Filipino dishes. Max’s Restaurant is my favorite when it comes to fried chicken, simply the best. We had fried chicken, white rice, pancit bihon, lumpiang shanghai, and caramel bars. So yummy! It was also my first time in Jacksonville.

Yet, at other times, the restaurant can be crowded and understaffed, leading to long waits for ordering and food, with visible customer disappointment. On one occasion, takeout packaging was terrible, stacking soup with the sisig and ruining its taste. Another visit noted a missing menu item, Bulaklak. Despite these inconsistencies, the overall sentiment is positive for the authentic taste and slice of Filipino life, with many customers planning to return.
