The portion sizes were great too. We tried the chicken parm pasta for 14.99 and the cabanero pasta (spelling?) with a side of breadsticks and mozzarella sticks & choc cake for dessert. We had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Forgot to take pics but they looked as good in person as it did in the pics we saw.

“I remember when Ruffinos opened years ago. They have the best pizza and sauce we have ever eaten. I also love the Chicken Marsala as the sauce is delicious. Plus you get spaghetti and choice of salad or soup and the most scrumptious garlic bread. Also the canolas are authentic not filled with whip that some others use. We usually order takeout but there is seating inside which is kept very clean and decorated with an Italian theme. The people that work there are always friendly and welcoming. “I dined here last October with a group of people. To be honest I couldn’t recall what I had. I was told I had the duck but, honestly it obviously didn’t leave an impression one way or the other. Why I had duck at an Italian restaurant is beyond me. Clearly it was not the dish to try. However, that was not the experience I had with my most recent visit.

The Ambiance
The ambiance is a cross between your typical Italian restaurant with wallpaper scenes of Italy and a sports bar with photos of baseball players (predominantly my team, the Yankees) and a Tom Brady wall when he was with the Buccaneers. There’s high-top tables and bar seating in the bar area and a large dining area in the dining area.

The Service
Efficiency with a smile would be the best way to describe the service. It seemed like everyone had a job and each person filled that job to perfection. Tables were cleaned as soon as they were messed, dishes were cleared as soon as they were done, drinks were refilled immediately all with a smile and the utmost of courtesy. As a restauranteur, I must say I have never seen such efficiency and professional courtesy all in one package.

The Food
If you like big dishes, one’s that provide enough leftovers for a week, you’ll love this place. If you like fantastic Italian food, this is the place for you, if you enjoy a great dessert, you’ll find one right here.
For our appetizer, we shared the Calamari. It had a crispy crust and a uniquely chewy, yet tender interior. My lovely bride chose the Chicken Piccata over a bed of Angel Hair Spaghetti. The chicken was oh so tender with just the right lemon in the sauce to add a bit of zest. I chose the eggplant parm with rigatoni and sweet Italian sausage. The eggplant, although a bit thicker than I like, was covered in a crispy layer of melted mozzarella cheese. The eggplant was tender and tastefully finished with a nicely seasoned breading. The entire dish was amply topped with a robust marinara sauce. The accompanying rigatoni was a bit too thin for me but was cooked Al Dente to perfection.

For dessert, we chose the tiramisu and peanut butter pie. Both were excellent with the tiramisu featuring just the right blend of coffee and cream. The peanut butter pie was oh so creamy and finished with a sprinkling of chocolate. Both were a fitting way to end a great dining experience.

The bottom line
The bottom line as always with my reviews is my “customer so what” … would I come back? I’m sure you know the answer based on my above review. Although pretty expensive for an Italian restaurant… $150.00 for a party of two, the size of the dishes is big enough to provide leftovers for another two dinners, I definitely would return and if you haven’t been there, it’s definitely worth the trip.“

“I've been going to Anna's Pizza for years, even when she first opened & was near the bridge going into Palm City, today with a slight name change & location in actually Rio/Jensen are with the word, "Original" included.
