About Alabama Jacks

Alabama Jacks is a casual roadside spot that offers a lively and relaxed atmosphere. Located on the water with a view of the mangroves, it’s a place where visitors can enjoy a laid-back vibe and hearty dishes like conch fritters. The food is surprisingly good, with large portions that are perfect for sharing or filling up. The conch fritter plate comes with two sides, such as scrumptious potato salad and delicious macaroni salad, both feeling homemade. The conch chowder is also popular among guests. A guide from a food tour in Key West recommends stopping here on the way out, noting that it is definitely a dive bar with great food, drinks, and a live band that plays from 2 PM to 6 PM on weekends. Service can be friendly, and the staff is often lovely, but sometimes it may be a bit slow. The vibe is vibrant, and the place has a no-frills ambiance that adds to its charm. The hours are from 11 AM to 7 PM daily, with the kitchen closing at 6:30 PM, and it is open on weekends with live music. The scenery is beautiful, making it a great stop on Krome Ave. Whether arriving by bike or car, visitors are encouraged to stop and enjoy the experience. Some guests have also praised the conch fritters, claiming they are the best in the Keys, having even won a contest. The staff, including the GM, are often friendly and welcoming. Overall, Alabama Jacks is a great spot to grab lunch and enjoy the relaxed, fun atmosphere, even if minor issues like mosquitoes or bathroom cleanliness are noted.

This place is a great hole in the wall. It has a no frills ambiance, but our server was fantastic. We had the legendary conch fritter. It is huge and so perfect, with tender conch and a sweet type of batter. If you are an uptight picky pants, move right along.

This is our favorite stop on the way to the keys! best conch fritters, fish fingers, and cold beer! this place is old school Florida! Love it!!!

The conch fritters are unmatched. We would drive down by boat or truck from Fort Lauderdale all the time for them. Now I live in NC but I’m headed back soon bc I need new t-shirts too!
