“Doc’s Diner Key Largo 4-30-25 Stooped by for breakfast on Wednesday about 7:15 am. They were not that busy and we got a table right away. Our Waitress brought the coffee fast and we ordered our food right there. The waitress was very nice and so friendly and checked on us many times. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy, Hash Browns and 2 eggs over easy. My wife ordered 2 Eggs over easy with Toast. My dad ordered Sausage Gravy over biscuits. Our ordered came out fast and looked very good. All our food as hot and tasty. When we were done, we were full as they piled up our plates with plenty of food. I give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. When I’m in Key Largo I will not hesitate to go back here. Make sure you stop by as when we left it was full of locals. “Specials, steaks, salads are very good. Tonight was the exception— very busy, service was very slow and food was barely warm. Had shrimp/scallop special and was lukewarm at best. Shrimp was dried and tough. Like itd been under a warming lamp too warm“

“On our 2nd visit to Island Grill, we had the spicy salmon bowl, and mahi tacos. They were both good with nice flavor combinations and ingredients. The reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars, from us, is their special menu that they have around happy hour time. We had come a couple days earlier, excited to try their tuna nachos (which we saw on like 10 other menus throughout the trip, so although theirs are the original, it’s not the only place to order them). Only to find a special happy hour menu that was confusing and charged $15 extra for us to share the nachos. Seriously? It was just two of us and we should be able to choose how we eat. A $15 surcharge is ridiculous. I think that was my first time walking out of a restaurant. We didn’t even order because I didn’t feel like they deserved our money. The only reason we ended up back there another time was because friends brought us and really wanted to go. Atmosphere is important for us and the surcharge for sharing food with my husband did not feel like a welcoming or casual atmosphere.“
