“Very clean establishment. The bathrooms are large and very clean. The bartender was super nice and friendly. You can order beer, mixed drinks and wine but don't expect food. However, the bartender had no problem allowing us to bring food in. He even provided plates and napkins for us.“

I’ve never been anywhere else in Sarasota with 125 healthy active people showing up for a 5k run club when it’s 90+ degrees, on a weeknight (Wednesday 6pm), to run a 5k then most stay to socialize and play BINGO!!!!! This place is a tipping point for our community culture. First and last, are the amazing range of beers and wines and the bagels are the very best I can find, the foods NYC strong!“

“This place is pretty cool a nice atmosphere with the music not too loud, decent prices, and the pizza is decently good for a bar that isn’t really a restaurant. I’ve been here 3 times for the pizza and each time it’s not an Italian restaurant quality but it beats the heck out of dominoes or Pizza Hut. The bar tender with the long hair, he is super nice, very attentive, and an awesome overall due. Give them a try.“

“Happened across Scalawags after doing a quick Google search of the name while in Sarasota area. Came in about noon on a Wed, just a few mixed age locals there, friendly people, fun and good laughs! Mainly a pool tables and electronic games type bar, dimly lit. Kitchen opens about noon, had a beer on tap and ordered the Grouper Sub, which was great - would get it again. Had another beer. Cash only for Papa Ron's food menu. Bar service is Scalawags, pay separately from food - works for them and me - no problem. Will return!!BTW - The Scalawags name came to mind because of the recent Gasparilla fest in Tampa and also because there is a Scalawags Whiefish & Chips in Mackinaw City, MI that a good friend of mine created, owned and operated for 30 years - serves the BEST fresh-caught Great Lakes Whitefish anywhere! So if you ever go there - you won't be disappointed there either!“

The Legion is a wonderful building with so many activities, friendly patrons, super staff who serve wonderful meals. I live nearby so brought my boyfriend for a leg of his Valentines Day scavenger hunt to play darts (they have 2 dart boards) & we couldn’t because they have busy dart nights. Call ahead if you have your heart set on darts. So we sat and drank an expensive Guinness! Guess that’s just the going rate these days? Very cozy place, nothing fancy, great little hole in the wall neighborhood pub.“

“i went to this place for my best friends 21st birthday. we got a cabana and ordered drinks and food and just sat by the pool. Matt was so attentive and was even bringing us things we didn't ask for. It was so hot up there and he brought everyone towels with ice in it to keep us cool. He was so sweet and made the experience overall so much better. The atmosphere and view was amazing and the drinks and food were pretty good. I definitely would recommend coming here during the week with some friends.“

“The restraunt is on the 8th floor allowing for spectacular views of the Manatee River. It’s been open 1 month. Hostess & servers were attentive. Presentation of the food was lovely. Beverages:Eighth floor & Palomita Fresa (pink) were delightful. Wagyu carpaccio ( tasty) Caribbean lobster bisque ( chunks of lobster) , Wagyu filet & lobster, Wagyu filet & crab cake ( the filet could be cut with a butter knife. Lots of crab) , Brussel sprouts ( I would pass on ordering at next visit) lobster Mac & cheese ( chunks of lobster and flavorful) tropical paradise ( a bit of tart & cream paired) & Chocolate Praline Truffle ( rich & indulgent). Kitchen to table was not rushed, a lil longer delay than expected. We weren’t in hurry and were there for the experience.“

“Amazing sundown experience. Started my afternoon at the Tiki bar which was a good call. They were short staffed and helping with orders on the beach. Though Solo, it was a semi quiet bar family and children friendly. Shout out to (Joe) who attended to me and was very attentive. After my meal I went to lounge. Beach waiters were attentive as well i.e water bucket and umbrella etc. I felt well attended to though I did not require much. I want to applaud management towards the etiquette and team spirit the men and women had. I could hear many complaints of orders being skipped or taking too long, yet felt the crew did thier best by compensating in other area's. I do have to say to update the beach lounge chairs they are very uncomfortable.“

Parking: Only challenge to this beautiful spot is parking - if you are a member or guest at the Ritz hotel, they have valet parking… if not, then you have to find street parking and may have to walk a couple of blocks. Ot terrible, just a little inconvenient.“

We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them—nice and thick—and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It’s little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I’d definitely visit again. “The seafood sampler was delicious- the scallops melt in your mouth like butter. The ocean scampi was good, but the garlic was a bit overpowering. Pleasant staff and comfortable outdoor seating… it was nice for a higher end meal.“
