My husband & I are both vegetarians, & we shared the sweet bean burrito which came with an Azteca salad—I got a pic of the burrito, which my husband loved, but I ate the salad too fast before I realized I didn’t capture a pic! I’ve had their wine-based margaritas in the past (delicious) but tried their sangria this time, & had multiple glasses of it. SOOO good & love that it’s close by!“

“This place is pretty cool a nice atmosphere with the music not too loud, decent prices, and the pizza is decently good for a bar that isn’t really a restaurant. I’ve been here 3 times for the pizza and each time it’s not an Italian restaurant quality but it beats the heck out of dominoes or Pizza Hut. The bar tender with the long hair, he is super nice, very attentive, and an awesome overall due. Give them a try.“

“Very clean establishment. The bathrooms are large and very clean. The bartender was super nice and friendly. You can order beer, mixed drinks and wine but don't expect food. However, the bartender had no problem allowing us to bring food in. He even provided plates and napkins for us.“

“Happened across Scalawags after doing a quick Google search of the name while in Sarasota area. Came in about noon on a Wed, just a few mixed age locals there, friendly people, fun and good laughs! Mainly a pool tables and electronic games type bar, dimly lit. Kitchen opens about noon, had a beer on tap and ordered the Grouper Sub, which was great - would get it again. Had another beer. Cash only for Papa Ron's food menu. Bar service is Scalawags, pay separately from food - works for them and me - no problem. Will return!!BTW - The Scalawags name came to mind because of the recent Gasparilla fest in Tampa and also because there is a Scalawags Whiefish & Chips in Mackinaw City, MI that a good friend of mine created, owned and operated for 30 years - serves the BEST fresh-caught Great Lakes Whitefish anywhere! So if you ever go there - you won't be disappointed there either!“

“It's a place that seems to always have something to do. They allow guests to visit twice at no charge and then you have to become a member.Membership and drinks are inexpensive and as a member you can enter in all their activities with daily, weekly, and monthly drawings as well as rolling dice for free drinks. Me and my wife go and sing Karaoke every other Thursday with two KJs that keep the two microphones sanitized as well as getting your favorite song up in a rotation that runs fast and smooth and gives you a good chance of singing three or four songs in a rotation.Bartender are strict with membership rules but are also very friendly..“

“Excellent service,good food and great view from the deck.My elderly mother passed out on the way out of the restaurant. The manager and her wait staff were very helpful during this emergency. After the manager called 911 for us, she helped with the 9 month old baby in our party while I helped my mother. She stuck with us until the ambulance arrived. The staff were also clam and helpful with comfort measures like ice and cold cloths. Me and my family were grateful for their assistance in our time of need.

“If you can overlook the cigarette smoke. This bar offers awesome karaoke and Bingo events. They also have 3 or 4 Valley pool tables. There's always groups waiting to play on the pool tables. I believe that Sunday afternoons, they offer free pool.“

“My favorite bar is Sarasota/Bradenton. The food reminds me of back home in Pennsylvania. The people remind me of a combination of the best people from the Eagles, Moose, and Elks combined with a family reunion of my favorite family members. I love this place.“
