Very flexible in moving seating time when we were stuck in traffic and realized we would not make our original reservation time. Patrick was a great Chef and the rest of our staff made our experience memorable. A5 Wagyu and the Toro were hits.“

Our first time, the restaurant is beautiful, loved the cat decor, food did not disappoint…presentation, freshness and flavors were on point! We sat at the bar for happy hour, great service…Ivan was wonderful at explaining the dishes, and made some great recommendations.
Kimchi Caesar with pork belly was delicious. The bluefin don was good, but probably our least favorite. Waygu garlic ramen was flavorful and we both enjoyed. JB roll was perfect. But the Trio Toro and hamachi Serrano…outstanding 10/10. Check out the cute apparel and accessories for sale too.…Ivan was wonderful at explaining the dishes, and made some great recommendations.

“Their kiwi boba tea with the blueberry and rainbow jelly is delicious. Their small size boba tea is quite large. The teriyaki salmon has an excellent portion of fish and veggies, and they have soy paper for those who don’t eat seaweed on ones small rolls. As for sushi I recommend asking for Escolar small rolls, they aren’t on the menu but they will custom make them. They’re very buttery smooth fishies.“

“Waterfront lunch. Valet Parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Lunch menu selection was varied. We ordered Korean BBQ wings small plate appetizer. Surprisingly excellent. Not breaded. Hubby had Caesar salad and loved the anchovies. I had SW salad and it was tasty. Brought home half. We also loved the included house brewed iced tea. Great lunch

But, it can be a little pricey, and the service is pretty slow. I feel that the restaurant, as well as Brandon’s and the bar (where you can also order your sushi), is all understaffed. When we arrived at the bar at 3:30 there was one lady working behind the bar, and she was also running to the restaurant (Brandon’s) to wait on people! So it’s difficult to give people much attention when you’re stretched so thin.We came back after 7 to have dinner. They don’t open until 5pm.I ordered the shrimp “handy”. It’s tempura shrimp wrapped in white rice paper, with rice and avocado. It was delicious!!! I was going to share with my hubby but it was so good! Sorry honey!My husband had the miso soup. It had A LOT of green onions in it. I like that, but he didn’t.Then we shared the sashimi platter. It’s 20 pieces of sashimi with a roll (wrapped in thinly sliced cucumber). It was the perfect amount for 2 people to share. We were both full afterwards. Every piece was perfect. It had 4 pieces of tuna, 4 of salmon, yellowtail, and wahoo.I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, my husband had a Moscow mule. They were both excellent. Then we had the salted caramel gelato for dessert.A 20% gratuity is automatically included. Our bill was $180 altogether.“

However, I got stuck on side exit ramp getting off I-95. the lady mgr called HUNG UP ON ME.!!! after . next few minutes later the man called and was trying figure where I was. He wanted to come deliver my food to me. he said "I AM VERY SURE YOU'RE HUNGRY" (I WAS) ps instead come all way 95 asked him drop my house. HE DID to pix and gave to roommate (thought was asleep) he didn't care about the tip.. just wanted make sure I had something to eat. knowing I was writing since 7 am and was almost 11 pm. “My favorite meal at Yama is....well, there are so many. Like Yakitori, Nigiri Tasting, Tuna Tartare, Special Yama roll, 2nd on 2nd roll, Chirashi, Spicy Pork Bulgogi then wash it down with a Lychee Martini. 🙌😋🙂“

“I can't believe I've never written a review! This is our hometown sushi spot! We come here all the time. The food is incredibly fresh, well priced and they always have something special on the menu. The atmosphere is not about fancy, its about family. You feel welcomed here, they miss you when you haven't been in a while. They know your names, they know you just got married, they ask how your mom's doing. I see a lot of take out being done here, so they do great business both in the restaurant and for to go orders. You never feel rushed, and it never feels too loud. We appreciate all the staff here, especially Pat, Laura and Cindy. We love it here!“
