The Mullett 3 ways appetizer was incredible. The coconut encrusted mahi with pina colada rice (and don’t even get me started on the crispy scallions!) was DEVINE. To finish off with the PERFECT key lime pie was just…well, perfect! We love Blue Dog, can’t recommend enough and can’t wait to go back and truly ask for Kelci; so on it, so sweet, no rushing, helpful etc. everything positive!“

“My husband and I came here last night and we had a great time. Hannah was an absolute gem, she happily answered all our questions and recommended good choices off the menu. We had the Hogfather sandwich on sourdough with fries, the chicken tenders tossed with the cilantro, corn, cojita cheese and other spices (they were huge) and we tried the gouda mac and cheese. We weren't too impressed with the mac and cheese but it was good, and the rest of the food was fantastic. My husband also loved their old fashioned.

They had a cover singer was wonderful as well.

We will definitely return if we head back to Ft. Meyers.“

And the portions on the baked spaghetti could feed 3 people! I grew up going to Pete’s Time Out on Fort Myers Beach, went almost every weekend until we no longer could and they had the best breakfast. “Nice place. Our waitress was very attentive, kept our ice tea full and remembered to keep plenty of Splena on the table. I ordered the Seafood Cobb Salad. I am a Cobb Salad fan and order one where ever I go. This one was huge and I mean a 12” plate piled on. All of the individual components were plentiful 5 grilled shrimp on top, tons of cherry tomatoes, a half a pig of bacon, bleu cheese, onions, and the rest were stacked high. Only thing that would have made it better would be chopped greens. I had to get a “kitty bag” for later. Desert was their Banana Bread Pudding with toasted bananas. Again huge could have shared it with 3. Wife ordered Crème Brûlée which she wouldn’t share. Only bump was wife’s entre, Dolphin fish came out topped with tomatoes which she is deathly allergic (not mentioned on the menu) but not to worry, they made her another lickety split. Two entrées, appetizer, ice tea, desert and nice tip came to just under $100 about average for a decent Cape Coral restaurant. Big smiles on this one.????“

The bartenders were awesome—super friendly, attentive, and fast despite the crowd. What really impressed us was the food. For a dive bar, the quality was way above expectations! Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and hit the spot.

As a lifelong foodie who usually cooks high-end meals at home, I was genuinely impressed. Some of the negative reviews I’d seen beforehand now seem baffling — this place exceeded expectations across the board.

The food was outstanding. The beer-battered shrimp were the best I’ve ever had — light, crispy, and flavorful. The wings were excellent, and my wife loved her smoked pulled pork sandwich. Their signature fresh gator was also a standout. First-timers: go for the virgin breaded version — it’s far more tender and crispy than the flavored options.

Prices are very fair, especially considering the quality. The cocktails are strong and well-made, and their house IPA, Reef Donkey, was a surprise hit — easily the best IPA I’ve had.

Despite being a sports bar-style venue, it’s spotlessly clean, welcoming, and delicious. It’s a little off the beaten path, but absolutely worth the effort to find. We’ll definitely be back.“

“Mel’s Diner Cape Corral 3-4-25 Stopped by Mel’s on Monday around 12:30pm. This place was clean, neat, and busy. We got seated right away and Dee Dee was our waitress. I ordered the Western Black Angus Chopped Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Corn. My wife and our friend ordered the Mel’s Classic Cheeseburger with Cheese, Lettice, Tomato, Onions, Coleslaw, and Fries. Once our order came out my Chopped Steak was amazing. The Chopped Steak had Onions piled high on the top and lots of Gravy, it was so good. My wife and our friends Burger were done perfectly, and the Fries were just yummy and even the Coleslaw was good. All our food was hot and plenty of it as we had to get a to go box to take some home. Once done we ordered two Milkshakes, one Chocolate and one Strawberry. They were very good if you like old fashion Milkshakes get yourself one for sure. “My wife and I went Saturday night around 5:00pm to see some of our serves that left another establishment. I had been to Neverminds years ago but for some reason we has never gone back (it may have been because of Covid or because I thought they closed after the original owner passed away). Well when we arrived we saw one of the servers we went to see plus a few other people working there we knew. the band was setting up in the front bar so we sat at the back bar and we are glad we did. It was quiet so we could talk. Our friend stopped by to say hi plus a few other employees welcomed us. The bartender Lilly was so Awesome she was nice, fun and easy to joke with. All the employees seemed to get along and work well together. I can't forget to mention the food. My wife and I being picky eaters. I played it safe and had the Nevermind Pressed Burger and my wife had the Empandas. I never had a pressed burger it was delicious. My wife couldn't stop praising the Empanadas. I can't wait to go back. What a great place.“
