“We recently dined here on a Sunday evening around 6:30 PM. The restaurant was moderately busy — not empty, but not fully packed either. Overall, the food was very good, and our waiter was attentive without being intrusive, which we truly appreciated. However, there were a couple of things that could use improvement. We were seated in a corner booth, and the tables next to us were empty. At one point, I asked my husband to sit next to me briefly so we could take a quick selfie — something that took less than two minutes. Out of nowhere, the hostess approached us in a chastising tone and told us we couldn't sit like that because the table was reserved. The interaction felt unnecessarily stern, especially considering the seats were empty at the time and remained empty for at least 45 minutes afterward. We tried to explain that it was only for a quick photo, but she did not acknowledge what we said. She delivered her message and walked away without any further response. The tone and manner of the interaction felt condescending and quite rude, which unfortunately left a negative impression. Additionally, when making the reservation, we were asked whether we were celebrating a special occasion, and we said yes. We were even asked about it again when we were seated. However, it was never mentioned afterward, and there was no acknowledgment during the meal. At a restaurant of this caliber, you would assume there is a purpose for noting special occasions during the reservation process, so that lack of follow-through was disappointing. Again, the food was good, and our server did a great job. With a bit more attention to hospitality and guest experience — especially in tone and follow-through on details — the overall experience could have been much better.“

“We had such a great date night at Jaya at The Setai. Everything about it just feels so Miami, the atmosphere, the music, the way the whole place comes alive. Dinner was amazing, the cocktails were even better, and the service made the night feel effortless. It’s one of those spots where you don’t have to overthink anything. “This was my second visit to Sando Miami, and while it was a decent experience overall, there are definitely a few areas that could be improved.

This time around, I tried the pork Japanese curry and the chicken katsu. The curry was a solid 4/5, good, but nothing particularly memorable. Personally, I would have liked a bit more spice, but that comes down to preference. What stood out more to me was the portion size. It leaned on the small-to-medium side, and at $23, it felt a bit overpriced for what you get.

The chicken katsu was more reasonably priced, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. The sandwich was dripping oil, which took away from the overall experience and made it feel heavier than it should be.

All in all, Sando Miami is a decent option, but with a few adjustments, especially on portion value and execution, it could be much better.“

After long day at work I went to pick up my order and as soon as I stepped out the door the wind blew hard enough to rip the take out bag and the food was on the floor. Mario rushed out and helped me, picked up the food and take it back and made everything from scratch without extra cost. I couldn’t be grateful enough“

Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The tuna was incredibly fresh—soft, clean, and cut into generous pieces. The seasoning was spot on, enhancing the fish without overpowering it. The rice was well-cooked and fluffy, and the mix of toppings added great texture and color, especially the crunchy elements paired with the creamy sauce.
