“Upon arriving, 30 minutes early , their website states you have to be at least 15 minutes early or you will be charged and since they demand a credit in order to have a reservation I do not doubt they will enforce. The ladies at the front tell us they are running late so our 2:30 reservation will now be a 2:45 reservation and it was a big “maybe “, so off we go to wait in the middle of this awful wind, it's almost the time and my son and husband approach again only to be told they don't know how much longer we have to wait but my husband kind of doesn't take no for an answer and keeps insisting on how much longer, we decide to go to another restaurant, get my card off their system when they finally decide to sit us somewhere, the food was good, music very loud for my taste, wind at a minimum, thank god but that waiting and those girls and their attitude, I won't be going back.“

“We went with another couple for Valentines day. The food was great. We really enjoyed the salad with squash (cut/peeled into curls) and goat cheese, crispy pieces on top. The fritto mista was fresh, light and hot. The burrata was also very good- soft and pillowy on inside. Everyone had different kinds of fish- branzino, dover sole and salmon. The chef coming out to present the dishes was a great touch. The pacing is off. We were a table of four, and specifically asked that the pacing be slowed so we could enjoy drinks and appetizers before entrées. We were assured it would be spaced out, but about eight minutes after the appetizers arrived, the mains followed, which made the meal feel rushed. The restaurant was not busy, so this did not seem like a table turnover issue, but rather a breakdown in communication. If you prefer a relaxed experience, order drinks, wait, then place each course separately on your time table. With better pacing, the experience would fully match the quality of the food and hospitality.“

“Since the opening last year, this restaurant has been my #1 choice for Italian in Miami. The chef has Michelin Stars in Europe and Dubai. Very fine dining with reasonable prices. The service team was exceptional, attentive to every detail. Honestly, you don’t find it in Miami. The waiters take their time to tell a story behind each dish. The service is fast but there is no rush.

Great cocktails and the bartender knows what he is doing because every time I ask for a custom cocktail, they always make it exactly like I ask.

The food is extraordinary. You feel like you visited Italy. I always get a modern salad which has 14 dressings!!! The selection of pasta is great. My favorites are Veal Ragu and Tortellini.

One of the highlights of the evening was the pizza. I opted for the Margherita fresh mozzarella version, and the thin crust was just spot-on—crispy at the edges, soft and chewy inside, topped with bright tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, fresh basil, and just a whisper of olive oil. The balance of flavors was impressive.
They also offer creative “pizza bread” styles like the “Italian Big Pizza Bread” with prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, black olives, fresh mozzarella and a balsamic vinegar glaze—a unique twist and one I’ll definitely return for.

“I recently visited Pummarola and had a pretty good overall experience.

One thing I really liked is that you can watch them make your pizza right in front of you. They prepare it fresh, slide it into the oven, and it’s ready in about 7–10 minutes. While we were waiting, there were several to-go orders being called out, which shows it’s definitely a popular spot.

The food is fresh, which is a big plus. I ordered the veggie pizza, and while it was nicely made, it was a bit bland — it tasted mostly like tomato sauce on dough with just a few vegetables. The chicken pizza we ordered had more flavor and was more satisfying overall. Prices are reasonable for freshly made pizza.

The restaurant has colorful, Italian, pizza-themed décor that gives it a fun atmosphere. There’s outdoor seating available, and free parking in the shared strip mall lot, which makes it convenient. They also offer pizza-making classes, which looks like a really cool experience.

One thing to note: if you need to use the restroom, you have to exit through a back door and walk down a hallway shared by other eateries in the strip. You’ll need a code to access the bathroom door.

In late January 2026, while a severe winter storm swept much of the U.S., my wife and I traveled to Miami due to medical concerns, grateful simply to escape the cold. Still shaken and exhausted, we wandered into a nearby food court near our airport hotel and happened upon Capriccio Blue Lagoon, an unassuming Italian restaurant.
Inside, the atmosphere was cozy, casual, and quietly refined. Before the food even arrived, our spirits were lifted by something simple but meaningful: two glasses of hot water and the warm smile of our waitress, Marla Josue, whose kindness and attentiveness made us feel genuinely cared for.
My wife ordered the Tuna Tataki, beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed. I chose my favorite Cioppino, which was excellent, rich broth, fresh seafood, and a generous piece of octopus that was a pleasant surprise. Though a bit pricey and without the usual toasted bread, it was deeply satisfying.
We enjoyed the experience so much that we returned two days after. To our delight, Marla remembered us. This time, we shared Cheese Tequeños with aioli, my wife had the vibrant Volcano Salad, and I ordered the slow-cooked short ribs. Once again, everything was beautifully presented and delicious.
I rarely use the term “hidden gem,” in my reviews but in this case, it fits. More than the food, it was the warmth and kindness, especially from Marla who helped lift our spirits during a difficult time. Highly recommended.“
