“Typical I hop but a bit cleaner than many other places in the USA, and I've been to 17 states and traditionally always in an I hop! Prices cheaper than in Hawaii or Seattle for example.. was surprised! Food was quick and good even though the ihop was full!

“We found this restaurant by accident but we were sooooo glad we did! The food was SPECTACULAR. Everything tasted fresh, the burger was so juicy and flavorful, the Philly cheesesteak was so tender and filling. We tried the chai tea (it could use a bit more flavor/syrup) and the taro boba (which was good but they didn’t have the tapioca which would’ve made it so much better). Overall it was a great dining experience. We are looking forward to going again. Thank you!

Their breakfast dishes are also delicious - I recommend the Open Faced Breakfast Sandwich or the Salmon Bagel. “Man, what a find! I was driving around after a brutal early morning of Amazon deliveries (you know how it is!), and I was seriously craving some good grits. I actually Googled "grits near me," which is how I stumbled upon this place. I'd seen a review that mentioned "classic diner vibes," and that totally sold me. Walking in, it was like stepping into a different world although it's a bit dated, everyone was so friendly – not just the staff, but the other customers too! I got a bunch of "good mornings" from complete strangers, which was honestly so refreshing. It felt like a real community, a family kind of atmosphere. My server was a total sweetheart. She knew the menu like the back of her hand and was super helpful in guiding me to the perfect breakfast. I ordered the Chuckwagon with eggs over medium, pan sausage, home fries and a side of cheese grits. My server even pointed out a way I could save a few bucks, which I really appreciated. Nestled on the DOUGLAS ROAD side of the building (see photos), you can hop up to the terrace (where there are outdoor dining tables) from the northern edge of 1 Alhambra Place. There is also an entrance from the lobby.Although most patrons seemed to be regulars, this newbie was treated like a long-lost friend. A very nice Western Omelet and a large Cafe con Leche made a great start to my day.

“The meals were so nostalgic to me and we felt right at home at moon rise. My Colleagues and I were able to get a great amount of food for a wonderful price. I ordered the egg sandwich with onion, fried yuca, and a mango smoothie. They ordered the egg breakfast with beans, cheese, avocado, bread, plantain, ham and we cleaned our plates. “While traveling and using public transportation, the city bus dropped us off down the road from Candy's Place and the connecting bus was running late. We walked down the street and discovered Candy's Place purely by accident. We originally went inside to have one beer and walk back to the bus stop. Waited at the bus stop again but decided to skip the bus and go back to Candy's Place because it had such a positive impact on us and we didn't want to leave. Candy's Place is so nice and welcoming inside and as soon as we met the owner and customers we knew right away this place is very special. We spent the rest of the day and evening there, met new friends and everybody made us feel so welcome and at home. Maribel, the owner, is an amazing and beautiful soul...she made us feel so welcome and her Platano Fritos are amazing and her Cuban coffee is absolutely the BEST coffee I have ever had. To Maribel and your local customers...thank you for inviting us in as part of your neighborhood family, we will never forget your kindness and generosity. “This is the best breakfast I’ve ever seen. It has everything: meats, bread, omeletes, vegetables, fruits, waffles, orderves, fresh juice, honey, croissants, yogurt, cereal. It cost a lot- $50 but it is amazing. They have every kind of tea and coffee too. The service is good, but some of them will try to take your plate too early when you’re still eating. It really is amazing. The other reviews here I don’t really get, it cost a lot yes but it is the best breakfast ever. Goes until 11. Thank you for an awesome breakfast.“
