“We went to the Fiests Grande restaurant today (2-1-25). Somebody told the manager that my husband was stealing a cup that was on another table. My husband saw the cup and was showing me how cool it was (we are seniors and if my husband liked a cup that he saw he would have asked our server if the restaurant sold them, we do not have to steal. Nor were we dressed poorly.) So, the manager came over to us, and demanded to look in my husband's bag. I felt so bad for my husband! The look on his face! He was mortified! She did not find a cup, because my husband did not take anything. She embarrassed my husband and me in front of everyone. I approched the manager and told her she was out of line and she told me she had to protect her customers...well, my husband and I were also her customers, she didn't protect us from public humiliation! She also told me " I am Mexican, I know how it feels. I don't know what she meant by that. We will never visit that restaurant again, and probably won't go to Mt. Dora again either! Needless to say, our beautiful day was ruined.“

“Amazing location, excellent service at bar and patio. Poke is fresh and brick oven pizza just the right size and yummy ingredients. Not heavy at all. Of course wine selection is good and beer is very cold! Sitting outside is gorgeous with Orange umbrellas and just steps from the MT Dora Yacht Club“

“Pretty disappointed that they were out of baguettes for a side. They offered no other bread alternatives though the wall behind was full of ciabatta, focaccia and sourdough. We come for the bread! The only other option was an apple or up charge on something else as they were also out of chips. I feel they could have worked a little harder to meet customer expectations with what they had on hand.“

“Excellent! Food is fresh and presentation is appealing to the eye. I ordered the homemade lentil burger and it was outstanding from beginning to end. My husband ordered the black bean quesadilla and loved it as well. I highly recommend Dark & Light Cafe! It’s a wonderful Mom & Pop establishment. Looking forward to trying the vegan empanadas and more!“
