“What a nice surprise to find Tonys right in Mount Dora! We went during the Art Festival and couldn't have had a better lunch. Small inside dining room, but they seated us pretty quickly. My shrimp roll was delicious and hubby liked his New England roll. Cole slaw and hushpuppies were also good. Staff is friendly and efficient. We will be back!“

“We went to the Fiests Grande restaurant today (2-1-25). Somebody told the manager that my husband was stealing a cup that was on another table. My husband saw the cup and was showing me how cool it was (we are seniors and if my husband liked a cup that he saw he would have asked our server if the restaurant sold them, we do not have to steal. Nor were we dressed poorly.) So, the manager came over to us, and demanded to look in my husband's bag. I felt so bad for my husband! The look on his face! He was mortified! She did not find a cup, because my husband did not take anything. She embarrassed my husband and me in front of everyone. I approched the manager and told her she was out of line and she told me she had to protect her customers...well, my husband and I were also her customers, she didn't protect us from public humiliation! She also told me " I am Mexican, I know how it feels. I don't know what she meant by that. We will never visit that restaurant again, and probably won't go to Mt. Dora again either! Needless to say, our beautiful day was ruined.“

“Great wine and beer shop where you can get beer on tap and wine by the glass. Lots of little couches and chairs in different corners to sit and enjoy. There is a cold beer fridge where you can also choose beer to consume on site. The only disappointment is that beer to go is 40% off the marked price but only for unrefrigerated beer. Beer is perishable and should always be refrigerated. Definitely worth a visit.“

“Went in a Friday night over the Arts Festival weekend. They were busy, but staff seated us fairly quickly. We ordered a veggie pizza - it came out huge, hot & delicious. The veggies were very fresh, the crust was not too thick or thin & it had the right amount of cheese. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. We feel like we picked a great place & wish we had more time to go back & choose one of their Italian dishes!“

“My family stopped in today before we caught a flight home today. My aunt and uncle live in Mount Dora and visit there often. My mom and I were visiting from Saint louis Missouri and was our first time there. I really wanted to give a shout out to your waiter that was working this morning around noon!! He was a superstar running around like crazy today. He was taking orders, seating customers, and cashing out customers. There was only one cook and one busser/dishwasher. Apparently 2 people had called in sick and he was so busy he couldn’t even call for someone to come in to help him. The crew this morning definitely deserves a raise. Unfortunately I didn’t get their names. But they all did a great job.“

“Amazing location, excellent service at bar and patio. Poke is fresh and brick oven pizza just the right size and yummy ingredients. Not heavy at all. Of course wine selection is good and beer is very cold! Sitting outside is gorgeous with Orange umbrellas and just steps from the MT Dora Yacht Club“

“Above and beyond service, the owner Peter ended up personally replacing my food after I was accidentally given the wrong order. It was my fault not to check my order but I was in a hurry and it was busy. I called the restaurant once I got home and Peter was extremely apologetic having realized the mistake already. There is no question that China 8 has more integrity and desire to give the best service and good food than any place I've eaten at in years. Thank you China 8 and thank you Peter!“

“This is the worst bar in Mount Dora. If you want to have a bad time. Go here. We showed up to the bar at 10 pm on a Saturday and ordered one drink per person. While my friends went to the bathroom, the bartender walked up to our table and took away our purchased drinks for no reason. The "manager", Mark came up and told me that we weren't welcome anymore. I asked why and he had no answer. I asked why again and he had no answer. Then after multiple times questioning, he said , "your too intoxicated" We were literally sober. The manager then physically intimidated us and forced us to leave. I'll never go to this bar again I live in this town and frequent town regularly. I'll never recommend anyone go to this bar for food or drink. What a top to bottom terrible experience. If you enjoy a good time, skip this bar.“

“I discovered Las Palmas about 7 months ago passing through Mt. Dora. I had the best Cuban sandwich possibly ever and couldn’t wait to get back! Well, I made a point to return and Camillo provided another great experience. He knew the menu well and made great suggestions. The food was excellent and did not disappoint. After ordering online, incorrectly, the evening manager on 3-21-18 took time to call to verify if I really wanted the pizza I designed since it might burn up in the oven! Last month my daughter & I visited the Perkins Restaurant in Mount Dora on US 441 & Spring Harbor Blvd. We were greeted immediately & accommodated to a booth not too close to the entrance. I was truly grateful for the awesome service & privacy to discuss some aspects of what the next several months would look like. The manager passed by & said hello. I just had to grab his attention to tell him that the food was completely outstanding! In fact, I needed a little doggie bag. The portions were large and filling but most of all delectable! I was so pleased! I met Dwayne, the Mgr & told him I thought the food portions were decent & truly delicious! I cannot wait to go back! What an experience! And, our server made sure our cup was never empty. I cannot wait to go back. The ambiance was perfect and I felt the server respected our privacy as well. Love Love Love this Location! Especially with someone like Mgr Dwayne running this location; oh yes, we’ll be back and we most certainly be back. Maybe next time I will visit with my Book Group. I’m truly pleased with the great food & service. I can’t wait to come back.“
