“5 Stars all the way around. This is a fantastic location for a great lunch with friends. The atmosphere is very quaint, charming, relaxing, comfortable...I could go on. I am so glad a mutual friend recommended it to us.Our server explained that everything is made from fresh from scratch and that the chef has been with them for over 20 years.I started with a nice craft beer and a bowl of the Irish Whiskey Onion soup. The soup was very good although I used my knife to cut through some of the cheese and fried onions. My bride ordered a sangria and a mushroom burger. The savory chicken sandwich with fries was ordered by two of us and the Philly sandwich with fries was ordered as well. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and we had no room for dessert. While our meal for two cost over $80, it is a bit on the pricey side if you decide to have 2 beers, a sangria, soup and 2 sandwiches. But it was worth it!This is a great place to dine. We dined on the main floor but you should check out the bar and lounge upstairs as well. Or outside. Just loved The Goblin!“

“I am from Rhode Island so I know a thing or two about “chowdah”. Tony’s has taken 1st place at the Newport RI chowder cook off more than once- and that’s impressive! I think it’s the best I’ve ever had, so good that it’s worth driving to Mt Dora just for that (and maybe a delicious cocktail at 1921 or The Handlebar.Parking: It’s Mt Dora so you may have to walk a block.“

“I drive over 3 hours round trip just to eat here (yes, you read that right!) & It's absolutely WORTH IT!I've brought many friends & family members here over the past couple of years since they've opened. They've gone through renovations & remodeling throughout that time, and now it's better than ever. So excited a new location is coming closer to Orlando!Ps you must try the "fried rice bun" on the hamburger & don't forget to order a side of "tator tots" too ??“

The flavors were outstanding, and each bite left me craving more. What truly sets Fifth Avenue apart is its inclusivity - it’s a great place for all ages. “Reminiscent of my New York days eating at the local pizzeria. I had the Italian sub which was meaty and fresh and very good. My friend had a calzone which was huge and the small was really big enough for two people. Food was priced appropriately. The facility was clean and the staff there was friendly and knowledgeable.“

“We were coming back from the casino in Tampa to our home in Deland it was absolutely the worse experience we have ever had between the traffic and the casino it's self we were tired. But on the way back we took a different route home on hwy 44 and passed this wonderful restaurant and since we had no eating anything all day decided to stop it was such a wonderful experience the atmosphere, the staff and the food was such a great surprise, we ordered the calzone oh my good it was the best we have every had since we left New Jersey along time ago, everything about it was delicious, the staff were so nice, friendly and accommodating, what a beautiful place, we live in DeLand FL about 45 min away and have decided it is well worth the trip to return. Thank you for being a ray of sunshine in a already horrible day.AL and Dee Neace“
“Not at all what I was expecting when I walked through the door- my other half and I were laughing at the display window with all the little smart-a$$ phrases and decided to head in. What we were greeted with was a little lounge area and an extensive wine selection! Beer and cider too and plenty of collectibles to browse. I really enjoyed all the clocks, very artistic and whimsical! John was so tempted by a metal tank bottle holder- for wine, but I told him if he got it I would put a bottle of whiskey in it- he said "Damn Right" to my suggestion! We spent quite a while wandering around this little rabbit hole! Stop in, be amazed by the selections and have some fun!“

“Don’t let being in a Basement off an Alley discourage you. The Frog & Monkey Restaurant may be one of the best hidden gems of Mt Dora! A rustic basement tavern with some high end Craft Beer on tap and amazing pub food.I got the Ruby Burger, think a Ruben but with a burger, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut; where have you been all my life?!?!? This was followed up by a rarity in the craft world, Tripping Animals, Triple Ever Haze, a hazy, smooth, juicy fruit sweetness Triple IPA with NO hint that this gem is 10%. Holy Geezus, I love this bar and would be a regular if I lived here.IG: @crafty_fireman“

“Exceptionally tasty with generous portions. Was impressed immediately when we sat down, they give you a small jar of salsa to refill the ramekin, the queso was almost large enough to swim in. I had the Mexican ribeye (delicious), worth the 30-minute drive.“

“I work nights, so when I get off work at 7:00am, I want dinner. At this cafe, I can get lunch or dinner even during breakfast hours. I usually get the open faced roast beef for breakfast. You can also get a cheeseburger or anything else on the menu, regardless of the time of day. They are best known for their breakfasts. My church parishioners all love the breakfasts.Great food and staff. It’s a small town cafe, great food, like mom used to make. Busy on Sunday’s after church.I’ve also ordered their food to go. The food portion sizes are large.“

“Had a great menu selection. Food was brought out promptly. The temperature of our dishes was good. The service was excellent. Prices varied depending on what you ordered, but reasonable. You always pay more when the restaurant is in Mt. Dora. This restaurant is very well attended. You can eat inside or outside, there is plenty of seating.“

“Went with the hubby and our littles and ate in the other night. The food was absolutely amazing. Both the hibachi and sushi were amazing. The service was super fast and although the place isn’t the prettiest inside it for sure was one of the cleanest I’ve been in! The food is amazing though and everything is super reasonably priced. I totally recommend!“

“The pizza we ordered was so good and the staff was super friendly even though our waitress doubled as the bartender since we were seated in the bar area. She was awesome! The manager had to come over since the cook misread our pizza order and treated us with cocktails. It was one pie that was halved with different menu specials... but no worries, we were fine. It was all so delicious. We really enjoyed our first time in Mt. Dora.“

“A rustic, small and nice place for Gluten free sandwiches and desserts. A Celiacs paradise for wonderful, tasty sandwiches , salads, fries, etc, witout the fear of cross-contamination. The Reuben was excellent, paired with a wine cooler! The prices are fair and the service was nice.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free food for all.“

“Candace was our server for a table of 4. Two of us had the 1985 salad, romaine was super fresh and the salad was delicious. Our son had the Cuban, very good, I would order next time and his wife had the shrimp bowl. We also tried the brisket shareable, brisket was delicious only suggestion was to serve on a rectangle dish rather than piled high on a round dish so everyone had a chance to try the brisket.Parking: It is not easy to find parking in Mt. Dora but there is plenty of parking at Beef O’Brady’s!!“

“My brother and I have been MD residents for about 30yrs. The staff here is great, the food is good and reasonably priced. Not too crowded. You can always get a table or sit at the bar and you won't leave either thirsty or hungry. The dress is casual and the atmosphere is friendly. We have become regulars after trying other places. We always order the breakfast special (bottom of the menu in the middle). The pancakes are particularly good.“

“Was in Mount Dora for the Blueberry Festival. I expected there to be more actual food stands but they were thin on the ground. Super hungrily we went searching for lunch. Funky Monkey is on the second floor of a building with cute shops on the first floor. We arrived a little after 3:00 pm which happened to be their happy hour. We got a Michelob Ultra for $4, G&T for 5.50 and a few small plates. Our server Cameron was on point and attentive without hovering. We had the gyoza (5 of them) bao buns (2 of them) and sticky ribs (4 of them). Everything was delicious and with 20% tip $43. The bao buns were spicy and crispy and soft and good. The sticky ribs fell off the bones and were literally finger licking good. The gyoza was really good and crispy. They had lots of choices like ramen and wings and flatbread. They have a kids menu and vegan options. Definitely a great place to stop after a hard day buying jams and hot honey.“

“The crabcakes were exceptionally delectable, showcasing the culinary prowess of the establishment. Despite the warmth of the Florida weather, the dining experience was elevated by attentive service from our waitress. The barbecue sandwich served on a biscuit was a highlight, its enticing aroma captivating me from the moment it began cooking at 5 PM. A testament to the restaurant's commitment to excellence in both cuisine and service.“

“We loved this restaurant! The staff was super helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. We tried the paella and the Hav-Tex tamale which was huge, lasted for two meals. It was very crowded so a bit hard to talk. If we ever go back to Mount Dora, we're going back here, especially as they said they didn't want to move to upstate NY. Can't blame them really.“

“Went here for my daughter's birthday. I have been many times before as well. The restaurant is nice and food is good. The server we had was clearly new and struggled with taking a simple order. But I'm sure that's more of a rarity there. The butter chicken and cheese Naan were amazing as always. My only complaint on the food was the rice portion was small. Very skimpy on the rice. But overall a great meal.“

“Food is the best thing about this place. But getting it is extremely slowww. Call order in says 15-20 minutes you get there. It's not ready for another 15-30. To close to An hour at times l. But it's hot and tastes good. They need gather kitchen help or more body's. It's not a good place for dine in. Typical takeout store. So what clean usually people sitting at tables waiting for the to go order and it's hit in there most times“
