“Pizza pizza pickup.
On one of our summer trips up to Nokomis beach this year we opted for a late evening pizza fix. Unfortunately, we had to pickup the order vs. delivery. Mama Leone’s had just changed names but not location so it was a bit confusing when we were looking for the pickup location. The food was fine and definitely satisfying but I cant really give it high marks. I can’t say much else about atmosphere etc. The service was good. They have a large pickup window as you approach the entrance. The staff was courteous and quick. We got what we wanted when we needed it.
In summary I give a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ rating (average for what it’s supposed to be).“

“My wife & I visited Joseph's for the first time this evening and it was a great way to kick off Super Bowl weekend! We each enjoyed Caesar salad, Chicken Parmesan entrees and red wine. The food, beverages and service by Cara were excellent! We also took home two cannolis for dessert and they were fabulous! We will return soon with friends and neighbors and look forward to trying many more items on their great menu! Please be sure to visit Joseph's when you are in the Venice & Nokomis area, and you will be glad that you did.“

“We had a family gathering catered by Dolce Italia and everything was absolutely amazing! We had trays of the Trenne Dolce Italia with sausage, an eggplant dish and homemade pasta with meatballs, which was absolutely delicious. The Mista salad was beautiful, fresh and the perfect compliment to the meal. The process was easy thanks to Matthew’s suggestions and the food was hot, packaged well and ready to be served.“

“We've been looking for our favorite pizza spot, and we finally found it! We got fettuccine alfreados that had the best sauce! It was so cheesy & creamy, thick but not chunky, flavorful, without being heavy on the garlic. They came with huge chunks of garlic bread that were so crisp on the outside, fresh, fluffy & buttery. We got ceasar & house salads, that were especially good for some reason. The pizza was especially good also. Great sauce, cheese, toppings, crust. The atmosphere was so very homey, and family like, and reminded us of growing up. The place, and restrooms were very clean. The staff was great! Both girls working, were so kind, and giving, with our 4 children. We also met a driver, who was so kind, that talked to us & our kids, and offered to take a family photo for us. “The food is incredible. The service is excellent. My husband and I really enjoy the bruschetta and/or the onion rings for appetizers. For an entree I usually get the cheese manicotti,spaghetti or the margherita pizza. It's all so good!!! You can't go wrong here. My husband ordered the daily special(surf and turf)and we'd have to say,it was the best steak and lobster we've ever ordered from anywhere!!! The steak was so delicious and tender, we could cut it with a fork. Cafe Amalfi is the best kept secret in Sarasota.“

“This was our first time visiting this wonderful restaurant and we can’t wait to go back!
The staff was so friendly, they introduced themselves asked for our names as well. They were also attentive which seems rare now a days. They food was very good. We sat on the music side and glad we made that choice, the singer was fantastic! This was a true old school Italian restaurant like when I was a kid growing up. The owner comes out and asked how you’re doing. So many home made items like bread and dessert are offered. They even have espresso and Frangelico! I had the eggplant parm and was so pleased it wasn’t heavily breaded or too thick. The sauce wasn’t extremely sweet either which I appreciate. My husband had the penne a la vodka and loved it! “Fast order pickup and delicious, freshly made food; what more can you ask for? The gentleman who took care of me was courteous and friendly. Our order came out right at the time it was expected to and everything was piping hot. Flavors were superb. We had a meat lovers pizza, custom Stromboli, and chicken parm sandwich with fries. The sandwich was HUGE, I could tell the chicken had been hand-breaded, the mozzarella was fresh, and the sauce was made in house with the bread. So freaking good, it was hard to stop even though I was full. The Stromboli was another winner: great balance of the ingredients and the bread was delicious. Definitely recommend the garlic butter too! 10/10 would recommend and dine here again, it's always the best to find a place local!“

“We’ve had delicious pizza from Big Mike’s, and finally decided to go inside and have dinner this past week. We had actually just walked out of another local Italian restaurant on Venice Ave where the service was so unwelcoming that we didn’t want to stay! Big Mike’s was exactly what we were looking for that evening. A wonderful surprise. The sever, Alyssa, was great! Our meals were delicious, a level up from average pizzeria dinners. We had baked ziti and seafood pasta. The prices are very reasonable. Even the salads and bread were extra special. And a decent selection of wine. The only thing that would make it even more perfect would have been red and white checkered tablecloths! It will definitely be a regular place for us from now on!“

“As a vegan of almost 10 years, going out to eat is an issue. Sometimes people have vegan cheese (1 in a 1,000), but mostly they have vegetarian dishes that include regular cheese. Usually, I settle for a Greek salad sans feta cheese. I’m not used to going to a restaurant that has the Impossible Burger and deli Panini and chicken Florentine and sloppy Joes and pizza and even Vegennaise! They have all kinds of wonderful meals and entrées that are vegan. And it’s not even a vegan restaurant! My husband said the (normal, not vegan) Gyro was the best he’s had, too. “We were looking for a location to host a reception for my Mother-in-law's celebration of life and Valenti's was one of the only locations we contacted that a) actually picked up the phone; b) could accommodate our group, and c) worked with us to make it a perfect and memorable event. Cesare and the entire staff there were amazing. They transformed the lounge into a beautiful and warm location and went above and beyond, adding black table linens, bud vases with flowers on the tables and candles, none of which we asked for, but all of which he delivered. It was such a nice touch and added a lot of warmth to the event. We had several older Italian's in our party (my Father-in-law is 84) and it was the perfect location for them to sit, fill their belly's and reminisce with family they hadn't seen for years. Cesare prepared a special menu for my Father-in-law, to include an antipasto, caprese salad, chicken piccata, meatballs and baked ziti, which seemed to please the crowd. They also allowed us to bring in pictures of my Mother-in-law to sit around and use their television to have a scrolling slide show of photos of her.
