Restaurantji's Pace picks for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“Los Panchos has caught my eye as I drive down US90 in Pace. The food trucks with picnic tables out front always gave me I should stop vibe, so I did yesterday for the 1st time and went back again today. I recently in the past week are at La Hacienda. Los Panchos hands down is the better tasting food, and looks as good as it tastes. They have a many menu options and will even do hamburgers and hot dogs which kind of shocks me. Both visits I was given a good experience. Except to wait a few minutes while your order is being made fresh to your liking. My wife and I will definitely be returning here again. A must visit place in the Pace area.Parking: No paved lot or real designated area to park. You kind if just have to figure out where to park on the side area away from the tables.“
“Fantastic food! Everything on the menu is good. Not kidding. I'm from Cali and the guac is some of the best I've had. Great service and atmosphere!Vegetarian options: They're very accommodating for food restrictions, and made some recommendations to one in our group. Everyone was very pleased“
“My #1 place to go when it comes to the best Mexican food! I have practically been to every Mexican restaurant in the area and still pick this place as my #1 choice for Mexican food! The food, Staff and atmosphere were excellent!Parking: More than enough parking and well maintainedKid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Happy atmosphere with good food. Nice, cheap prices with moderately good parking!Parking: About 20-30 spot, normally easy to find parking, but definitely gets worse as the day goes by.Wheelchair accessibility: Great wheelchair accommodations“
“Hey, I love the Taco Bell, but sometimes they mess it up a bit. I'm still going to go there. I just wish they had a little more pride in the work. Yes, it's fast food and all that, but it's still a job that's not being done very well at times. ALSO COULD YALL PLEASE MARK THE DAMN FOOD SO I DONT HAVE TO OPEN THEM ALL UP TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE“
“The food here is excellent. I’ve door dashed more times than I care to admit but this visit we actually ate in and I was even more impressed. The food place is beautiful inside! Wonderful atmosphere and the margaritas bigger than my head! The queso is delicious ? and anything with steak in it.“
“I moved here from Colorado 7 years ago, and had been desperate to find good Mexican food. Every single place I tried sent me into despair, as I was used to there being incredible hole in the wall, authentic places on every corner back home. I was particularly homesick one night, and decided to try once more to find quality Mexican food. A girl need a taco dangit! I found this place on door dash, and ordered an assortment of things for my mom, the kids, and I. Burritos, tacos, assorted meats, and of course jalapenos, I went overboard. I was craving a solid lingua, as if it's cooked right, it's the most incredible taco you'll ever find. The smell emanating from the bag must have driven the driver crazy, and I'm hoping he went back to obtain their own order of tacos. That level of torture is inhumane. While guilty of probably breaking the Geneva convention, Taqueria El Asador provided generous portions of each ingredient, and made me happy I ordered the extra tortilla per taco. It's like having a bonus today once you're finished with the original!First off.... The lingua.... Oh my lord! So I'm a widow, a very young widow. There's certain things you miss as a widow. The cure... Eating a lingua supreme taco with the salsas and a jalapeno. The flavor, texture, experience, of eating this particular taco was a delight for the senses. It sent a shiver of delight through me, eyes rolled back in my head, and I'm not responsible for the sound of approval that escaped my mouth. No one heard it though, as they were currently immersed in their own culinary delights. My mom is a huge fan of pintos and also of pork within her Mexican dishes. She was pleased by both and Said they were the best she's ever had. Both children finished their burritos, which is a feat as they're at a stage in development where everything is gross unless it comes from a box or a can, and creative culinary experiences go over their heads. The steak was tender and delicious, and had my kids hunting around through their fallen morsels that escaped the burritos for more.So tldr of this experience: lingua was incredible, will be ordering stupid amounts of this again. Pork, beans, and steak, all Delicious too. Salsas, rice, and other "others" complimented the meats beautifully. I will be coming back over and over.Thank you for being a home away from home!“
“This place looks like a hole in the wall restaurant that you'd probably drive by 100 times and not stop in. I was craving birria tacos and ended up here. I will tell you this is the best damn birria I've ever had & I live in Texas where the Mexican food is significantly better(argue with ya mama). Service was spectacular, very patient with my mom who's stupidly indecisive.“
“We tried their vegan puffy tacos and vegan enchiladas for February's vegan chef challenge and they were AMAZING. I just wish this place was open for dinner.Vegetarian options: They said they can always make vegan puffy tacos, which are super delicious, although probably not terribly healthy, lol.“
“Had two different tacos there: campechano, and el pastor. AMAZINGG! We went there because El Asador is closed on Sunday's. Definitely put this one on your list. Our friend by mistake went to their other location on N. Palafox, and had almost the same thing as I did, and they attested that the tacos were really good. Or is they like to say: "They slapped hard!"Have been to small towns in Mexico and gotten tacos, these are damn close. Super simple is what I look for in street tacos: cilantro, onions, meat. Ofc corn tortillas. Will return!“
“Affordable and delicious! The owner always makes time for small talk and chats with locals. On a budget but want a filling yummy meal definitely recommend! Who doesn't love cheap yummy ? tacos made to order. Customize your food and it's always exactly as I ordered. My food is always served with a genuine smile and thanks from the owner. Small intimate dining room so if your taking the whole football team it may be a bit tight. Support local businesses, way better than Taco Hell and cheaper!Vegetarian options: Just voice your needs/wants and he will make it happenDietary restrictions: If you can't eat certain foods let him know.Kid-friendliness: My son likes his tacos with only meat and cheese and they always make the soft or hard shell tacos exactly as I order them.“
“I will never visit Pensacola again without making sure we visit and eat at Taco Mex! It was absolutely delicious - the most authentic food I've ever eaten. Beautiful atmosphere and we enjoyed shopping at the market. our waitress was so friendly❤️“
“Ate at Mama and Papa's Tacos of Pensacola last night for the 1st time. WOW! Maybe the best Mexican restaurant I've eaten at anywhere. Great food, fresh, tasty, outstanding service. Everything that's important, they do well. We'll be regulars!“
“We arrived and were seated immediately. Staff was welcoming and the chips came out right away. Very very clean with a lovely water fountain in the middle of the room. Great atmosphere and staff. Would recommend for date night or bringing the whole family.“
“First time at a Tijuana flats. The customer service was awesome. We felt welcomed and were greeted and explained the process immediately. Restaurant was clean. It was a little cold in there that’s why it got 4 stars on atmosphere. Food was on the bland side (garlic shrimp bowl, taco plate, steak flautas ). I didn’t try any of the sauces though so they may have been the flavor they rely on. $42 for three entrees not bad.“
“Run to Cejo's on Saturdays for ribs! This is the best BBQ I've ever had. Everything I've had from here is so good. I love the quality of the food and ingredients for the price. They don't use cheap oils to fry their food and you can tell they put a lot of love into the flavors. This is the best spot for food in Milton- hands down!“
“Oooh okay. So I moved from SoCal to Pensacola a couple years ago and have been trying to find something close to authentic. My boyfriend and I went here today (my first time) and all I can say is "thank you!". It's definitely the closest I've found to a SoCal taco shop. I got their Asada Quesadilla and he got three Asada tacos. Everything was really good. Their salsa is super yummy. We will definitely be back. Also for being crowded the service was really fast and it wasn't too loud either.“
“Service was fast and friendly. The Plato El Paso, in particular, is so plentiful that it arrives presented on two plates. As a New Mexican, I was particularly interested in the relleno, flauta, and various salsa/dip options. All were good, All other items were well-prepared, generous, well-presented, and tasty! Our server (Hannah) was responsive and attentive too. The live music was very welcomed and tasteful, if *just the tiniest bit* too loud to allow for mellow dinner conversation on a weekday evening. We sat in the lounge to be closer to it intentionally though, so that part was our responsibility (there's a semi-separated dining area that was, no doubt, quieter.) All-in-all, a surprisingly solid choice for Mexican fare for the area.“
“I'm not usually one to leave reviews on places but this place NEEDS more recognition. I've lived right down the road to it for a year and always overlooked it because its never busy when I pass by on my walks so I assumed it wasn't good. I am happy to say, I was SO WRONG. El Asador down the way is good if you want a massive amount of food for cheap, but without the sauces it's kind of bland. The food at this place also comes with a side of sauces but you really don't need them! The dishes are wonderfully seasoned and also decent sized with quality ingredients that make the price so worth it. I only regret not giving this place a chance sooner, but I'll definitely be going back from now on when I'm craving a great authentic Mexican dish! Absolutely delicious!“
“Food prices are reasonable and the food was very good. It is a very large place and they have a market next door which I did not go to. I drove by the place for many years and did not pay any attention until finally I went out to dinner there. I'm glad I did and I would probably go back.Vegetarian options: They have all vegetable items, but most of it is chicken, fish or beef.“
“Always love coming here. I have a bit of a hearing problem, so being sat right next to the fountain makes it hard to have conversations, but that's a "me" problem.Kid-friendliness: Great non-alcohol based restaurant! Very kid-friendly!“
“Busy place with not-bad food. I had carne asada; the meat was super soft, but the taste was bland. My husband had Mexican tacos that came with four tacos, so he got two chicken tacos and two meat tacos. I didn't like the presentation of the tacos. All tacos were wrapped in foil, which was uninviting.“
“Hands down my favorite place to eat and relax in town. The owner and staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, and they have incredible events with a very cool outdoor space. Kid and pet friendly. Come relax, enjoy great authentic cuisine, enjoy the atmosphere, and all the amazing people.“
“Fantastic tacos. Decent carne selection. Grabbed an Adobada, Pastor, Carnitas and Campechanos. Each taco comes on one homemade tortilla that is a mix of corn and a touch of flour. Really good fresh off the grill.Favorite was the Pastor. Campechanos and Carnitas were close seconds with asada being the least exciting. Pastor was very flavorful and dripping deliciousness. The carnitas has some good chicharron pieces mixed in, chunky and good flavor. Campechanos is what I would get if you like asada, the added chorizo really gives it a good taste.Their salsa is really good. And they have a salsa bar with other sauces.Gonna say, this is my favorite taqueria in Pensacola. El Asador is good, but this place is great.“
“This is by far some of the best Latin food you will have in Pensacola. The flavors are authentic and stand out amongst the other larger Latin restaurants in the area. Skip the other places you see around and head straight to this little place near BP and Holiday Inn!“
“Amazing Place!I ordered the Street Tacos and it was the best thing I've ever tasted. They use amazing fresh ingredients. the sauce was sooooo hot i was sweating, but thats just me being a white person lol. we arent made for that type of spice! but it was still some of the best food ive ever had. will definately be coming back.“
“The meat was cooked to perfection, all ingredients tasted high quality and fresh, and the food came quick. The service was great and the bathrooms were so clean. The drinks were mixed perfectly as well. It’s not the most modern place, but if you’re looking for good Mexican food, whether you like authentic Mexican or Mexican-American, you can find it here. Next time I fly into Pensacola I will be back.“
“I've passed by this place so many times but looking at the building, had assumed it couldn't be that great. Well, momma always said... don't judge a book by it's cover and this is why! Its small and quaint inside but it's clean. The owner and nice lady who cooks are super nice. Would be a lil better if their waiter got some training because while he's nice, he's definitely not a waiter. Now getting to the important part, the food is AWESOME! I got the street tacos- one chicken, one steak and one barbacoa. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The toppings such as cilantro, onions, red cabbage, etc. was all fresh and cut up consistently perfect. Everyone who loves Mexican food, Cali-style, must give this lil place a try. You won't be disappointed!!“
“I love getting burritos here. Taste great, made my way. Plus you can't go wrong with free chips and salsa. Sometimes you have to wait in a line a bit. The place has recently been updated. Cleaner and even offers a slushy machine.Parking: Parking is good at the odd hours. Come during a busy time and it’s hard to find a spot. Especially since it shares with other businesses.“
“The restaurant was very clean. The staff were attentive and the food was good ! We had a large party of 35 people - we called ahead the day before and had no problem being accommodated. When we arrived they had the whole back patio (private room) reserved for our family ! Our waiter and waitress were on point all evening ensuring everyone was taken care of the entire visit. My son’s 10th birthday was that night & the entire staff ensured he felt celebrated / special ! 10/10 recommend for large gatherings / parties !“
“This is a great place for food and it's located perfectly right outside the mall. Food would almost be a five star, depending on a few things. The freshness of the chips, and trust me you can tell if they were last night's leftovers. And the most important thing the ingredients. My last visit was the best and I will tell you why. The gentleman stirred up ingredients before applying them which means you are getting all the flavors and the freshness of that ingredient. Not the cold, dried top portion, which will always get. This comes with training and experience and will make the difference when comes to them presenting their best product. And its still better than Taco Bell. ?“
“All these bad reviews are complete crap! The tacos are cheaper than taco bell! And way better! The chili is my go to everytime. If your looking for goat and shit you can't pronounce this isnt your place! But overall its way cheaper than all these places popping up charging $3 for a lil meat and cabbage on 1 corn tortilla. And all these places serving Barillo tacos. First of all real Barrillo is made from goats! Not from cows! Its iron gamey tasting not like whats being passed off. They have puff tacos that are amaze balls! Fried Ice cream is yummy too. Don't listen to people who don't know shit about food. people out there want something for nothing and they probably never went in the place.“
“Best Mexican food I have ever had in my 40 years of eating so soso amazing every bite even the salsa has so much love in it they definitely smoke the peppers before they make the salsa and u can tell with everybite a must go if your in the “
“You can't beat $1.99 margs - and they're DELICIOUS! They're no syrupy at all and they are quite big too. The free chips and salsa are also very very good. I love the refried beans but was underwhelmed by the quesadilla - they use queso sauce instead of normal cheese, so if that's your thing then try it! Just not for me. Tuesdays here are the best!“
“A great local Milton restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The breakfasts are my favorite, especially the home fries! Not frozen shredded stuff but real chunks of potato and onion, grilled and so delicious with eggs! My husband always gets the grits with his breakfast. Loyal customers for the 7 years we have been here. Same friendly staff and service too.“
“Place is great only had the chicken burria tacos and the pork tamales which are do good. The chicken burria tacos comes with the chicken tacos with melted cheese onions and cilantro as well as cup of chicken soup on the side you can dip it in which I'm I do and I eat it by itself as well. Great for cold days will try more on the menu another day and will let you know how it was. I promise you won't be disappointed. Keep doing what yall are doing“
